    I just checked one of my 12-turn Titans. These motors have 15 degrees of counter-clockwise timing. The reason I use higher turn motors is so I can gear higher without as much wear on the motor.

    Man if you want a hot brushed motor, get the Surpass "power" series 12t 550. I know it's a cheapo Chinese job, but they all are, even the Holmes(The brushed cheap ones). It's full bearing, rebuildable, and adjustable timing. I've got three of them. One in a Tamiya Fire Dragon and it will do 45mph on 2s using a 1060 HW esc. They're fast man, I'm telling you. They've got really strong magnets and scream! Just make sure you order the"Power"series, if you try it. It's worth the 30.00.

    • @cwthemachinist
      @cwthemachinist Год назад

      @Jack Anapes I'm not sure about the Injora as far as quality. I don't think they are very good. I can speak about those Surpass 550 "Power" series though. The 12 turn are super fast and powerful for a brushed motor. Even if you don't need to rebuild, it's a super value for money. I would think of it like the really cheap ones burn up and you've gotta throw it out and get another. The Surpass you can replace whatever parts you need if it burns up instead of buying another. But if you're just wanting super inexpensive, then use the Injora.

    I used to race 2wd buggy, late '80s and early '90s. When your car hits top speed at the end of the longest straight, you've got it about right. Good rule to follow no matter what size the track is. Another thing affected by gearing is run time. Figure out how long a battery will last doing laps with a nimh and a lipo. See what people show up with, maybe run 2 classes if the difference is significant.
