The Co-op switching offer is ending today (Friday 19 January 24). The following is from the Co-op Bank website: "Our Switch and save offer is ending on 19 January 2024. There’s still time to switch and save, and receive up to £150. To be eligible, you’ll need to meet all the offer criteria, and send your current account application or request a switch to an existing account by the end of the day on Friday 19 January 2024. If you’re applying for a new account, you’ll also need to request your full current account switch by 16 February 2024."
It would be great to see that general overall account switching guide you mentioned in another video - covering things like making 'dummy' current accounts you use almost exclusively for the purpose of switching. The overall practical steps you'd take if you wanted to get as much out of all these switches as easy as possible Thanks
It’s basically just set up a current account with monzo or starling or any bank that doesn’t run a hard credit check when you apply. Once you receive the card you can then use these details to switch to any bank and bag the cash. You can also reopen a monzo in particular a month or so after closing it I think it is. This is just my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong
Step one... Open new additional account with current bank Step two... Add or move two direct debits. Step three... Use that account to switch and take advantage of these offers
Great stuff double up for us as I use my son also to for the deals so that's 600 notes plus banks switching and the American express cashback twice means £850 of free cash incoming, made over 4k last year be hard to beat that again. Thanks for the update.
I applied for the account, also putting in for the switch, on January 17th with it completing finally two days ago(February 13th) which seemed quite a long time for the switch to go through but fair play to the Co-op Bank as they've weighed on the 100 quid in to my account today.
@EmmaHart-ei2pt nah not yet but I did get two small 'everydayreward' payments the other day: one of a quid and another of 12p. I ain't actually kept an accurate log of when I should be getting it but I reckon it should be by the end of the month.
Can we just set up a new account for coop to get the reward too and dont have to switch if never had account with coop bank many thanks ?....Also andy the content and channel always giving us subscribers followers upto date information and help soonest knowledge of how simple you explain too is thankful appreciated 👏
I think I’ve made a mistake. I got the £100 but put £25 in each of 2 different of their savings as didn’t know which to open and haven’t had the £50 bonus and it’s now been over the time I think and that savings was put in there from day one
Applied for this when this video was release but co op took a long time to get back and only recived a letter 3 days of welcome lettier so i am no longer eligible for bank bonus and neither a way to stop it as they have already posted the card. Wasted time and not sure if it was co op plan intentionally
Andy thanks for this video. Can you please clarify the timings of when to do certain things with this account. I applied for the account before they pulled it . I have received my account number and my switch ( From Barclays) takes place on Feb 12th. Are you saying I shouldn’t register for online banking until the switch has taken place? Are you also saying I should only deposit £1000 after the switch has taken place? Thanks again for the work that you do.
Just to flag, I'm in the process of applying for this switch and I still got accepted for a new Co-Op account even though I've already had a dummy account with them in the past 12 months (to switch out of for another switch bonus), which I wasn't expecting. Good news for frequent switchers!

I am moving soon within 2 weeks. I have royal mail redirection set up. Do you think I should do switch now or wait until I move? Will the fact I am moving and won't have been at new place for long going hurt my credit rating?

Easy cash going for this and tsb on the same time but I think the earliest on co-op date was mid Feb for some reason to switch to complete...

Personally I'd wait .. saves and pain later on and this deal will be around for another 2 weeks for sure
