- If you want to easily make some repeating patterns in Adobe Fresco this is the video for you! Creating seamless pattern tiles is super easy in Fresco, by the end of this video you'll be ready to make all the patterns!
I'll be using some fan art I created for the new Zelda game "Tears of the Kingdom". I've always been a fan of the Zelda series and it was a lot of fun to draw these characters and elements from the game.

Yeeeaaaahhh…you gotta make that character style video.
Cool, I’m on it!
yes!! So glad you are showing this workflow. I have yet to meet an artist out there who knows about this - I try and tell everybody. It’s such a cool way to make patterns! Thanks for making this, Chris.
It really is such a cool feature! Thanks for watching!
You lured me in with Zelda! If you get it on the switch we may never see you again on here. From what I hear so far it is the best game ever. I had no idea making patterns now was so easy! I used to spend forever trying to get things to flow evenly and forget something complex like you just made. This is fantastic!
Haha yeah, it may be a bad idea for me to get one. I’d either be obsessed or not use it all. No middle ground. Glad to hear this was useful! It’s a great feature.
Style breakdown video!!!
Ok! Thanks!
Here's that style video! Hope you like it: ruclips.net/video/aXdnAftDlxU/видео.html
Awesome!
That's very nice! One thing that seems to be missing from Fresco though, is the ability to import a pattern tile. I really hope they add the ability to fill with a pattern in Fresco in the future.
Thanks, that would be cool.
Always interested in your process Chris!
Thanks so much! I'm going to make that video!

@@chris-piascik oh I do!
Your videos have inspired me to draw more and try new things like animating. I appreciate it very much. Thanks for your talented advice!
Oh cool! That's so nice to hear!
Nice! Thanks for the clear concise video. Can’t wait to try capture was not even aware of its existence.
Glad you liked it! Capture is a ton of fun.
Capture is one of Adobe’s best kept secrets (though we don’t want it to be!). And it’s FREE! How can you beat that?
This is awesome! Thanks Chris teaching me cool features for art.
Glad you found it useful!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video!! It's a total game-changer for me!
So glad to hear!
Another great video Chris. I would love to see a video on how you come up with your own style artwork for characters like Link. I think the process would be really interesting. Also, maybe more content on lettering if possible 😊
Ok thank you! I’m on it!
@@chris-piascik awesome 🤘🏻 looking forward to it 😁😁😁

@@chris-piascik just watched it at last! Really enjoyed it. These are the type of videos I love. Getting stuck into the process and the thought process that goes into it. Nice 1 😁
Here to say keen for the process video. Thanks for the great tutorials x
Thanks! It will be up on Tuesday!

I had no idea there was an easy way to do this without a bunch of manual, tedious placement. Thats wild. Thank you.
This is where I would usually make some sarcastic, but friendly comment about your quirkiness. Imma head out first before I can get one out though. 😊
lol thank you! Glad it was useful.
This is amazing! I had no idea.
Glad you liked it!
Definitely wanna see a video about Adobe Capture 👍🏾. Great, useful video as always!
Thanks Selly!!
2:38 oh yes! Show us the process of how, you create illustrations in your own style! 🖍 Especially if you would do more Zelda motifs 🔥
Thanks! Planning on making that video!

I can’t say I’m into video games, but I am totally grateful for showing us how to use Adobe Capture. I did not know that existed. 👍 Good Talk.
I'm not really either, even as a kid I wasn't-aside from Zelda. I didn't really get into too many other games. Anyway, glad you found it useful!
Thanks Chris! Another banger! Cheers 🍺 TGIF
Thanks so much!!
I’m beginning to believe Fresco, Illustrator, and Capture are the perfect iPad vector trio.
i agree!
Cool! Capture is my favorite app. Hope they upgrade it for higher resolutions for pixel work.
The most helpful video ever
THANK YOU!
do you have a video of you drawing those parts? I would like to see you put those together.
I did record some, but I haven’t posted anything. I’m planning on doing a video talking though my process.
Here's the video showing how I drew this stuff! Hope you like it: ruclips.net/video/aXdnAftDlxU/видео.html

Whoa!! Yes, please on an Adobe Capture video!
Cool, thanks! I'll add it to the list.
Wowee! This is so cool, Chris! Love your style and your vids. Would this pattern making process work with raster elements made in fresco, do you know? or only vector elements?
Thanks! It definitely would work with raster.
Love it ❤❤❤❤
Thankssss!
Thank you! But does Fresco have any way to do a half-drop or brick-repeat style for making more advanced and aesthetic patterns?
Hi Chris, I would like to learn how to make repeating patterns, in order to have custom fabric printed for my store. I am wondering about the use of Capture, when I go to my creative cloud it says that Capture is a mobile app. Is there another way to do repeating patterns that doesn't use my phone?
I use fresco on my 2 in 1 windows laptop and I don’t think I’ll have adobe capture what would I do in that case?
As many Fresco videos you can do that teach, or something we don't know, hints, maybe follow along paintings or? The app is one reason I'm returning to Apple 🎉
Skosh: a small amount : BIT, SMIDGEN
The word skosh comes from the Japanese word sukoshi, which is pronounced "skoh shee" and means "a tiny bit" or "a small amount." The Japanese word was shortened by U.S. servicemen stationed in Japan after World War II. Later, in the Korean War, a small soldier was often nicknamed Skosh. In civilian-speak, skosh can be used by itself as a noun or in the adverbial phrase "a skosh".
Wow, thank you!
So when ur making those illustrations do u make a bunch on one file/canvas and then save/export them individually?
Sometimes, just depends what I am doing with the drawings.
Please do make an Adobe capture video. I'd love to know more about it
Cool, will do!
How do i open it in fresco??😅
I love this! Where can I buy this as a phone case? 😅 Also this thumbnails rocks
Thanks so much! 😎 I’ll look into making it available!
I did it! chrispiascik.myshopify.com/products/magsafe-tough-cases
I use Fresco on my Samsung laptop. Is there a Windows app I can easily make a tile with? Can't get capture on it as it's mobile app
Hmm, there must be something that can create a pattern tile, it just wouldn’t be able to do it straight from the export like you can in Fresco. I’m not a windows user so I don’t know much about what’s out there unfortunately.
Oodah-lolly! Golly what a tutorial. (Iykyk)
☺️☺️☺️
Hey excellent video! Do you know if its possible to use PNG files of illustrations on Illustrator, in Capture the same way you have from Fresco?
Hmm. Well you could just open the pngs directly in capture I believe.
Video starts at 1:29
Thank you for your service
if this was some type of cool t-shirt. I would buy it.
Hah thanks!
its like the wrap around mode on krita but you cant draw on them, you can just move the layers
it isn't working.... i just spend 1 hour with adobe support and they tell me it is not supported... I don't know why my fresco design is not opening in capture :/
Since the free update it is not working anymore. Also “open to illustrator iPad “ does not work any longer. 🥲
Yes, Adobe capture do a tutorial thx
Cool thanks! I’ll try to get that into the rotation soon.
You should definitely play this game if you haven’t yet!
I knowwww
Pleeeeaaaasssse make that video

So guess we know what you are doing today? 😁
Hah, no, I don’t even have a Switch. I barely have any downtime these days.
Me pattern is not seamless. There is a color difference in the overlap.
Very annoyed that it's only for mobiles.
