Angelica Hale is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She was born around 2007 and was living in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019¹. Hale started her career as a singer by winning several local singing competitions and performing for various charitable functions like Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta¹.
Hale became famous after competing in the 12th season of America's Got Talent. She made it past the auditions round with her rendition of "Rise Up" by Andra Day. During the live shows, she sang "Clarity" by Zedd and Foxes at the Quarterfinals and "Without You" by David Guetta for her Semifinals performance. Hale advanced to the Top 10 finals where she performed "Symphony" by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson. For the finale in episode 22, she performed "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" by Kelly Clarkson with Clarkson and fellow contestant Kechi Okwuchi. Hale finished the competition in second place behind Darci Lynne, becoming the youngest runner-up in the show's history².
Hale is a kidney transplant survivor and was the first contestant to receive two golden buzzers. She has also appeared in films such as American Reject and Maya Unstoppable.

The way she could go from talking to singing was incredible, and then to make the lyrics so believable, like she was actually going through it. OMG! Thanks for reacting to Angelica's piano cover of "Stone Cold." First off, yes I too would have preferred a little less reverberation in the post-production of the music video. But as you said, that is a personal preference and not a critique of her performance. Second, I too marvel at her ability to tap into some internal source to portray the emotions of a song which she is too young to have directly experienced. Many people say that she has an "old soul," and she taps into some sort of ancestral memory. And yes, she really does take the time before she starts to "get into character" for each song and she often needs a few seconds to come back to the real world after she finishes. One of my favorites that really shows this is her piano cover of "Scars to Your Beautiful" which she does with her eyes closed for the entire song (I'll probably request that one soon). Of course, she has a personal connection to that song given all of her surgical scars from her bout with sepsis and her kidney transplant. Thanks again for your reaction.
