I had the privilege of seeing Denzel in NY on stage in “Raisin in the Sun.” A remarkable event in my life. What an actor! What a man. He looked exactly like he does on film.
What i love about these movies is the character of Mccall. Denzel plays him as a man of great sorrow in having to take life, but he's good at it. He plays the tortured soul perfectly.
I remember watching him in training day and being incredibly disgusted by him. Until i got older and realized just how good of an actor he was that he evoked that motion in me when h didn't even know anything. A good actor will manipulate your emotions. You will feel things you normally would not. Denzel is one of those actors. When he needs you to hate him, he makes you hate him. When he needs you to love him, he makes you love him. When he needs you to cheer for him or root for the other guy, he does that too. That is a true talent.
Nah, man.... It's more than that, I get it., Example..... Matt Damon, ... difficult not to like the guy. Rewatch the departed, .....see him a little bit differently. It's just respect for good acting..
Imagine how boring it would be to watch a film and not feel something. Skilled actors master their communication craft to deliver words from a script in a way to trigger you emotionally. There is no motion without emotion which is energy in motion, hence why movies must be entertaining otherwise it would be a boring business which is the opposite of show business.
Denzel is one of the best actors!! Love his movies. You can’t go wrong when you have Denzil in the scene. Love his character in every movie and he’s the one guy you definitely rely or want on your side!!
unless he is the coked-up pilot of your plane. ok in the movie he saved everybody.it is a based on a true story. but how many could he have killed when shit gone bad when there was noting happening? in this story he is the S###
As talented as Denzel Washington is as an actor, he’s an even better man outside of his day job. He’s a very thoughtful and insightful guy and has many no nonsense takes that apply beautifully to the current state of the world. He prefers posing questions about a given topic rather than opining and preaching his individual views. He is a bonafide American treasure and I sincerely hope he is around for a long time to come.
First scene in the first film already hit home for me as someone who hates letting people down and naturally lets people down without meaning to, i.e too much effort, having the right intentions but wrong execution, when McCall says 'Progress, not perfection' just knocked me for 6 and then 6 more. For me the best films and tv series are those that make you realise things about yourself
I have seen Denzel in many movies, and he is absolutely brilliant. The first one that got my attention was “Man on Fire”. A man who learned how to love again, but he believed it had been ripped out of his life. His method of revenge was savage, and ruthless, but justified. He “painted his masterpiece “, and to die was his last brushstrokes. Brilliant…
Man On Fire is a great movie, but he has a lot of great movies before that. Check out the movie “Glory” he’s pretty young in that movie. And he’s great in “Remember The Titans”
I'll go you one higher: he's good with a capital great! I've never seen him put anything less than 150% into every part he's played. It would have been very easy for him to bank his good looks and easy demeanor. But he chose to take the high road, hone his considerable acting skills -- to do the work, pick the the right movies, and give some of the most measured, nuanced , and compelling performances that Hollywood has ever turned out. I was a little surprised when he took on this role. To resurrect an old and, in many cases, forgotten TV show, and bring it to the large screen, playing the role more an action hero than originally played by the great Edward Woodward. I think he might have been just a little envious of the success Keanu is having the John Wick! Seriously, though, only Denzel could bring the kind of gravitas to the character needed to avoid it being a cliche. I loved the TV series, and how McCall helped mostly simple people who found themselves in situations they could not extricate themselves from without his help. And he never lorded it over the people her helped, often disappearing before they could even thank him. Yeah, Denzel is one cool cat.
No one has ever commented that i've noticed on how the Equalizer is clearly OCD with little things like unfolding and rotating a napking positioning drinking glasses, locking and unlocking the door multiple times.
@@LeiDeng-iv7lz Right, their best friends, I enterchanged them, I saw that movie once it was good but I don't remember it well. Another example you might remember is the one with Jack Nicholson, he had OCD bad "It's as good as it gets".
Cinematic language is left very clearly in this film. A mafia boss killed people like crazy, and ended up dying a painful death at the corner of the street. At that time, the people in this town still had faith in a savior, the Virgin Mary who saved them. They escaped this disaster
Robert McCall, John Wick, Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher & Liam Neeson's character in Taken should all be in the same movie, kinda like The Avengers or Justice League 😂

Für mich vergleichbar mit der Triologie des "Paten" von Coppola aus 1972 mit einem neuen, zwar völlig anderen Sujet und der aktuellen Zeit angepasst. I hope so much that there will be a 4th and also 5th and 6th part of this wonderful series. Even if they won't be published until 2026, 2029 and 2034 respectively! For me, it's comparable to Coppola's “The Godfather” trilogy from 1972 with a new, albeit completely different subject and adapted to the current times.
He is a good actor and very lucky there are millions who will never get the same breaks due to numbers alone. I enjoy his movie and not sure who the screen writer's are but kudos to them they are very good too.
When one has everything taken from them, and there's nothing left to lose, a man has few paths left. Many turn to the dark and inflict the kinds of pain they endured trying to rid the pain they bear while few choose to save others from similar pain they had endured. The question is whether or not you would trade what life or freedom you have left to save someone else's. In the case of an innocent's suffering, I find little desire nor ability to deny that trade. The only regret would be when it was time to pay the dues, account for all that was done in the name of what's right, that the last saved would be the last. Maybe it's indeed time to face the reality that what's left are my children and grandchildren and what time i have left should be spent protecting them and corrected the evil in their lives.

It's the little backhanded insults McCall gets in his speeches, "An abusive man, so not a real man, a man that would..." that I like so much.
With the Equalizer, it's all about timing...
