Enjoy the videos Mr. Pipes! The only constructive criticism I can offer is it looks like Godzilla cut the ground off the romex and landed the neutral on the ground lug. The neutral should of been capped off as it’s not needed. The only place where neutral and ground should be tied together is at the first means of disconnect like the main electrical panel. Just a sparky flexing what little I know lol got haha.

      @petersmart1999 3 года назад +7

White wire is the one you can't change,NEC allows you to designate load wires but not the white neutral! So you can't for instance put a green band on a white wire to make it a ground!

The oil will drain faster if you remove the fill cap also while draining. That's very similar to my JB vac. Great video senor pipes. Keep it up. 💯

You were correct about the micron gauges and your bluvac was actually the true micron measurement of the entire system and line set because it was placed on the liquid line . I look at it like the liquid port is the very end of the line if u r pulling vac from the suction port side .

That Neutral is going back to the main panel and used as a ground I would assume. And the ground I would assume was not used at the main panel or the disconnect. The neutral should have been taken out of the picture period. It will work, however the ground is there use it. This is just so you know, at a MAIN PANEL you can tie in neutral and ground into the same bar that is called BONDING. If you start adding sub panels, disconnects for what ever reason. You have to add a second grounding bar and keep your grounds and neutral separate. Also if that would have been ran in 3 wire we would not be talking about this.

I think that you need to drain that pump right after you use it while the oil is still warm for it to drain faster! Great pump but like anything else new to the market improvements are needed and that is why you are reviewing it to help out the company to improve their product and in turn they're helping you by sponsoring you! I think that you and Godzilla would benefit from using the yellow handled Klein wire stripper with the spring loaded handles! It has wire stripper gauges and a wire cutters in the center and a wire plier with grips on the end a very high quality tool that will make the job much easier and do a better job no partially cutting the wire it's self while you are stripping the insulation off! Those Bosch units are very high quality! Your customer will be happy! That connector on the Romex going thru the disconnect box is called a strain releif ! Great video you are very professional and have a great work ethic always doing your absolute best for your customers!

Grounding wire must be at least 1" longer than the other wires. Depending of the grounding terminals placement the grounding wire might need to be even longer. Grounding wire must be installed so, that it is the last wire to get loose when there is unexpected pull on the cable. Using cable strain reliefs won't change this requirement.
You can use whatever wire you want for grounding. Wire used for grounding must be marked as such on its both ends if you are using other than the default grounding wire. You can use for example green tape to marking it. If local code reguest using yellow-green for grounding, then use yellow-green tape instead.
You must not use the default grounding wire to anything else than grounding!
It's a good practice to not cut wires (and cables) short. If there is room in the wiring space to neatly fold wires then don't shorten them more than needed. It'll make future modifications so much easier if they are long. Don't cut unnecessary wires off because they might be needed later. Instead tape or cap unnecessary wire ends.
Not all cables in all situations are extendable!

Enjoy the videos. I gave ya a shout out to supplyhouse.com saying that i heard about them from you. Hopefully they will wake up and give a sponsorship. Little tip that it took me way too long to realize, I saw you fighting with that disconnect cover while godzilla was wiring it. Those covers are just hooked over a dimple and will slide off if you lift up on them to get the hell out of the way while you are wiring it. Unless that brand is different than the ones I'm used to. And also a little pet peeve of mine. I like to run the tstat wire in some scrap of conduit. It saves the trouble shooting with low voltage shorts due to someone getting carried away with the weed wacker. Love the videos guys keep it up.

Honestly in the past I have tried to steer clear of elitech tools like this. I may be wrong but I was pretty sure they were in the business of basically re-branding Chinese tools and then selling them as their own kinda Like Robinair. I believe they did it with a couple leak detectors.

I mean if you go off the differential between the two micron gauges you could use the micron gauge on the pump. You would just know that at 121 at the pump is actually 320 at the port. So you could set the pump to shut off once it reaches 100 micron which would be 300 micron at the valve. If you set that pump up to shut off on its own it has a solenoid to shut itself off and it will do its own decay test.

I also have their bluetooth wireless scale which is awesome and their micron gauges thats good too. Been looking at the vac pump, you can get almost all of their profucts on ebay and can negotiate prices with them, better thsn buying from them off of amazon. I expect that the drain would have drained faster with the fill cap off?
Is the drain screw worth the price point......and opp's I dropped my drain screw, where did it go..... need heaps of spares as I'm sure I would drop that sucker. needs some screw captioning/easier serviceable device. only problem is to modify that model something would have to stick out with chance of breaking off?
What other options did it have in the vacuum and time tabs?
Could the vacuum gauge be extended/socketed and used remotely at the more useful location. (It looked like the pump has its own vacuum decay test)
Is that red cap a second vacuum point, just cheaper so not added secondary port?
Looks like a great unit once the little things be fixed....

Vacuum of 500 microns is a complete pump-down. "BELOW IS JUST FOR SHOW", should be your new slogan. Anything below 500 microns is 'not significant' and unimportant. Read for yourself: www.jbind.com/pdf/Pump%20Presentation%20Pump%20and%20DV.pdf
Also, Mike, you should use a metal line for vacuuming. Avoid oil contamination of the sensor in your micron gauge and use the same size hose (inside diameter) as the port on the unit. Changing oil regularly in your vacuum pump is essential to good performance. A new pump with new oil will work better than an old pump with old oil. You saw the speed this one performed. Just remember the accuracy of the micron gauge's sensor is a factor of how clean it is. The sensor is affected by temperature and cleanliness. Extreme temperature can affect micron gauge accuracy and give you bogus readings.

If we are being technical, anything below a few thousand isn't significant as long as its holding.

It was probly accurate because the thermistor was at the closest to the suction vanes that's also why you don't put a tee or put the micron gauge on the SAME LINE THE VACUUM PUMP IS HOOKED UP TO that said the super duper vacuum guys have both hoses hooked up.😂
What's the rush if the system is tight it will pull quickly.
Now IMO that pump is over kill for no reason.

Put that micron gauge on the other line totally separate from the line the vacuum pump is on???
If it's on the suction line put it on the liquid line.
If it's on the liquid line put the gauge on the suction line when you isolate you don't have to wait long for a leak it's the whole syStem !

I love your video but don't sell out u never used that vacuum pump be real .... get money but the right way that pump look like some Harper freight shit if u use it and u stand behind it ok . But I don't think u had enough time to back it correct. I might be wrong pump might be good I'm just saying

I wouldn’t buy it. We know measuring vacuum at the pump is a mistake, and the 1/4” port means id never use it. Skip the bells and whistles, and just make a superior pump.

the 1/4 is a deal breaker for commercial, should also have a 3/8 at minimum. I was trying to get a closer look and see if it would be possible to change the fittings out or add an adapter. 1/4 isn't a big deal with the system he's doing but anything over 5 tons should really be done with 3/8 or more.
