bbmatty I take it you have never had a real job yet. Not knocking the farmer, but that just looked like work. If it's hot, do it early in the morning, or in the evening. A life lived soft is a soft life lived.
Until viewing this video, I thought tequila was made from a fruit looking like a large pineapple! It's obvious why what's left after the cutting is called a piña. Useful video.
It gives me motivation to see old folks supervising kids to get off their asses and work hard. So many old people these days just do things themselves or go off and retire never to be seen the same again.
Those plants are huge! I wanted to see some agave because my store carries agave syrup and is next to the sugar. and it shows a little image of a piney plant. Then I bought some whiskey that says 100% agave. I was like sweeeeet.
Wow! Looks like the Pineapple's big brother. On the side note: I've been ban drinking Tequilla. My wife tells me it brings out the Aztec indian out of me...Haha! :)
Great Narration of the video 🙄🙄🙄. 🤣🤣. That truck in the background sounded like it was running on beans, rather than diesel 🤣. bad ass old jimador 👍!! that be a good job for a 40year old gamer still living with mom, 🤣 hey, it be
Definitely hard labor goes into making tequila. I read that they can make 12 cases of tequila out of one of those hearts. Look for 100% de agave on the bottle. Straight up its delish.
planting blue agave is a great way to make money, but you need the right kind of land. but its not a fast way to make money. takes up to 7-8 years. Just a little info your yal:)
Hmm, I have a few, maybe four or five agave on my land but maybe 50 pups that are three years old. I retire in five years so maybe give myself a good send off. 😊
I do farm labour outside and i love it, but o wouldnt do this a day. My work is probably even harder, but the temperature in 10 maybe even 15 Degrees colder. Many people underestimate that. Working in that heat just unbelievable torture
Z00 the stalks are really bitter in taste, and the quality of the tequila is based on the aging process. Of course, I'm not tequila expert, but I'm sure the stalks are never used.
If I had to do that, I would rent a backhoe or at least use a makita grinder to keep my shovel sharp. I would like to get hold a bottle of natural syrup from this plant on my next visit.
for thousands and thousands of years of human history, people have worked, fought wars and fought plagues so that I could play these video games while I drink tequila so i don't appreciate you degrading their memory
I bet he wants his own dreams . I admire him more than the ppl who employ him . money is a waste . we could all live in harmany if we didn't have money . money money.
We must protect the environment. The agave is pollinated by bats. We loose the bats, we loose agave. We loose agave, we loose tequila. Wouldn't that be sad.
I do not like that he does this as if the plant is a non-feeling, non sentient being. The plant shouild be talked to before it is killed...asked if its willing to die. Give prayers for its soul and thanks if the plant spirit is willing to give away its body to the man.
@brunettechocha I understand you not liking tequila, everyone has their own taste, but that was one of the stupidest things I've read. We don't drink tequila JUST because agave is grown in abundance in Mexico. There are thousands of people who would disagree with you in and outside of Mexico about the taste of tequila. And FYI, Mexico does import liquors. And because many people enjoy tequila its considered one of Mexico's prized possessions.
Cruel and unnecessary. Humans are actually not able to go through life without alcohol, tobacco, drugs. In reality not equipped to deal with life. Patetic
this old man is solid as a rock I bet. That is alot of work and he probably does that for 10 hours a day or more.
why? why 10 and not 1?
bbmatty I take it you have never had a real job yet. Not knocking the farmer, but that just looked like work. If it's hot, do it early in the morning, or in the evening.

That still just looks like work.

Viva Mexico! This guy is as tough as nails.

Those plants are huge! I wanted to see some agave because my store carries agave syrup and is next to the sugar. and it shows a little image of a piney plant. Then I bought some whiskey that says 100% agave. I was like sweeeeet.
Looks like a lot of work o:

Watching this while I drink my Jose cuervo bottle 🥃 Saludos to my hard working people
Yuck! Hopefully you've indulged in better tequila since.
Damn, now that is a hard working old dude...he shopped that plant like it stole something from him LOL
Aqui no Brasil é feito apenas coradas e vários outros utensílios com a fibra da agave. Que nós chamamos de sisal.
Sim. No México eles fazem 2 bebidas de agave: tequila e mezcal (aquela com as larvas).
That thing is sharp!!!
buena tecnica para jimar con 2 detallitos pero asta ora el mejor de todos los videos que e visto

Esto agave es muy bueno y es por tequila como los uvas buenos por vino.
Damn I need one of those tools. Taking out an agave plant with just a shovel is hard as fuck.
RJ Garcia coa
How long does it take to grow that big?
8 years approximately
@@Isaac-lm6pl actually, now, it's between 5-7 years in the Los Altos region. I don't know what it is for the Amatitan Valley.
Andale buey buen trabajo
What is the name of the tool used in the field to trim the plant
Definitely hard labor goes into making tequila. I read that they can make 12 cases of tequila out of one of those hearts. Look for 100% de agave on the bottle. Straight up its delish.
What is the process after that? I thought they burn it and let it ferment? Then squeeze out the juices?

( Translation:) That's good agave and it's to tequila like good grapes are to wine.
How does that make Tequila
What is the tool name used
Love tequila. Fun to watch him get to work making the delicious brew. Try tequilas at Iron Cactus restaurants.
why are the outer stalks chopped off and not used? do lower quality tequilas use the entire stalks along with the hearts?
Sorry, i really don't know.
Z00 the stalks are really bitter in taste, and the quality of the tequila is based on the aging process. Of course, I'm not tequila expert, but I'm sure the stalks are never used.
Oddly satisfying
How did anyone initially figure out that tequila could be made from agave? I mean someone had to think, what does that taste like?
If I had to do that, I would rent a backhoe or at least use a makita grinder to keep my shovel sharp.
I would like to get hold a bottle of natural syrup from this plant on my next visit.

That’s a really spiky pineapple

how can there possibly be enough of those 12 year old plants to make all the tequila in the world?
they found a way to clone the plant
I honestly thought that was a huge pineapple lol
good exercise ! lol
Holy shit those plants look difficult to harvest.

They are thriving just fine in the canaries...
Mexican farmers need to pay attention to the trees losing leaves and turning brown. Cancerous air in south texas has destroyed my great uncles farm.
Yeah, destroy that bush, Billy.
Yep got too drunk tonight...
Poor agaves... ;(
Crappy cameraman. Camera guy is on the other side of the plant and we can’t see what the man is cutting with his tool. 👎
jose cuervo is not good tequila
Correct. Its the jack Daniels of tequila... correlejo and olmetec however are good tequilas!
El jimador is
Not all kids just play video games....Yeah they are working are working hard to encourage the use of Alcoholic drinks...Fuck drinking Tequila.

No, they take it to the distillery to be mashed up, liquefied, and then fermented.
