I personally really like this ship even though many people don’t really see it being cannon and people mostly think of them as brother and sister but they have a more healthier and happier relationship compared to Apritello in tmnt 2012. In the 2012 version things started off as a simple crush with Donnie but as the series went on it kinda came off as creepy and clingy and they made Donnie look like a stalker and the ship often came off as forced, and throughout the series April would even manipulate Donnie because of his feelings for her.
I never finished the series myself but I have to agree, Apritello was not great in 2012. But 2018 Apritello works platonically and romantically in my opinion. Tbh, I have since moved away from these two, they aren't one of my main ships or anything like that, so at this point, whether they're canon or not is irrelevant to me.
Yes, I've grown to notice that. I can't say I blame them. They're really cute as just friends/ adopted siblings. It's not a rule that every boy and girl pairing should be viewed romantically. However, their dynamic is so fun that it almost hurts to not see that there does exist POTENTIAL for something more. Those are just my thoughts though.

She actually cares about him and he cares about her, whereas in 2012, their relationship went from funny, to weird, and to ugly. If Apritello was still a thing, I think ROTTMNT would capture they’re relationship in a much more wholesome way ☺️
I mostly agree with everything you said. I haven't seen 2012 TMNT in its entirety and I want to, so I can't properly judge the apriltello. Even though I personally always had mixed feelings. In any case, based on comments like yours, art that I've seen and the likes on this glitchy video (lo), there are fans out there! They totally act like siblings and I will not take that away from anybody to see them as family/friends. However, their chemistry is so cute and if you spin it the right way, it works. @itzlevi7145 Mhm. I try to acknowledge the kindness when I can. I look back and see how others (and myself 💀) could become unnecessarily defensive about ships. So it's nice to have an understanding. Besides, this video was experimental at the end of the day. I tend to enjoy these two regardless of romantic implications or not.
