You should join the group! The group gives you VIP commands meaning you don't need to place blocks to climb onto your ship you can just fly. And you can also use Btools to just extend your bricks instead of place one at a time!

A balancer just makes the ship not capsize on its side but the balancer does not help when your ship sinks
