I agree with you that bypass shears/secateurs are way better for repeated and clean cutting than any anvil design. I have the Corona BP7100 bypass shear and it is excellent - an internal and powerful spring to prevent jaw lock. Better still - the lower jaw is the slimmest I've seen and you can really get into to tight spots to hook. For loppers though - my advice is always have an anvil lopper. I have the Felco 231 - awesome!
Hi Jason! 👋 Thank YOU for watching! We really appreciate it. Totally, Corona tools are tough, well-built, and feel good in our hands. What more can you say, right? Thank you for commenting and stay safe.
@@SpokenGarden I received the Corona BP 3180Dm ,1 inch, yesterday and my wife promptly asked for some trimming. They are really nice and the price was great @ $17.80. I really didn't want to spend $50+ on a pair of Felco 2's. We've had multiple pairs of cheap Chinese made pruners in the past and I normally break them. Thanks for the recommendation and keep @ the videos. You have great information so your channel will take off eventually, just takes a while. Again, thank you.
Hi Combatpzman! 👋Thanks for watching and commenting. Sure, that could be one reason to use anvil over bypass pruners. Some people do prefer anvil, too.

The coronas are great I have had mine over 20 years and they were used in comercial maintenance for 2 of those 20 plus
Anvil pruners are for deadwood, which can damage bypass pruners, just an FYI.

What about rachet pruning shears?
