i was afraid peter had passed or something when i saw the thumbnail, glad we’re just appreciating his legacy! he’s one of the most important skateboarders period.
This is skateboarding. Period. Eating shit…eating more shit….loving it…and leaving everything destroyed with epic style. Watching him skates scares me…love it.
I had a Gerwer/Hewitt Grimple Stix. Was my first shaped board that wasn't a popsicle shape after over 100+ boards. Changed my life. I still ride a modern style for doing kick tricks but shaped boards are slept on.
Had the pleasure of hanging with Pete a handful of times at Big Wednesday and even running into him at Washington St He was always the nicest most genuine down to earth dude. Not to mention the most sturdy and powerful looking style, so sick!
one of a kind style. thanks for the trip down memory lane, lot of these clips take me back to my salad days of skating & Hewitt was always a stoking inspiration
Peter Hewitt in the Anti Hero tent city video will always be a staple of gnarliness when I reminisce to myself nostalgically. I see him do something and I think, “hell no” to revere the significance of scary tricks he pulls off in the sketchiest of spots.
Holy shit! It might sound ridiculous, but I only just realized that Frank Gerwer and Peter Hewitt are not the same person. I have trouble recognizing faces. Somehow, they occupied the same location in my brain, as OG rad skaters. Thanks XD
I recently got a Peter Hewitt Grimple board because it was the right size and shape, not knowing who he was, finally googled this. Stoked to represent this guy, he’s a madman, the technicality of some of these tricks is not lost on me.
man, I watched his part in 411 episode 33 on VHS so many times when I was younger. Like every time before I would head out to skate in like 98-2000ish. so fun to watch him rip
Some of his skating gives me anxiety like i'm going straight to flat. He's always been impressive, never heard him mentioned for having big airs but damn he had some BIG airs.
I got to skate with him a lot, we drove the kona camper across the country to Oregon Trifecta long ago, everywhere we stopped to skate he was there with the king of the road tour the year we all went to Carbondale Co then Oregon Trifecta, stopped in Louisville first they were there too, epic road trip
Facts! Had a kid ask me a while ago if I was sponsored, I told him no I just have fun if a sponsorship comes it comes but if it doesn't I'll still be having fun skating and for him just to have fun most important part is just to enjoy it! 👊✌️
Peter use to come to my buddies Nathan's spine ramp in UC ( san diego ) back in the day , we were just kids back then and watching him rip for hours was pretty bad ass.
@@DopeboySpoon Thanks big dawg, Im fucking scared to go the doctor again.. just knowin what theyll say I need done for my brain and stomach. The dent n bald spot on my heads got some charm tho LMAO. Might ride it out and just skate, paint, help out at spots n chill with family til I kick the bucket forreal. Im in STL with a whole lot of DIYs that need help before I go. I wanna help build some of the Sk8 Liborius churchs new concrete section so I can leave a mark forever.
@@vancouverbill I appreciate you dude, the hard part is begging my family to drive me places to help at or skate.... the 1 thing I really dont recommend with severe brain injuries or a tumor is you cry a fucking lot lol. Even over simple things like a supportive comment. Thanks man.
@@EVAASIVEOne all good brother. We are taught to be ashamed of any tears but nothing wrong with feeling something deep, whether from landing a trick you have worked really hard at or connection with your community, those times are priceless
Peter Hewett was one of those vert dudes the street skaters loved back when street skaters weren't into vert almost at all, for whatever stupid reason that was. There's something very street about his approach even when skating built-for-skating parks, just going balls to the wall not caring if he gets destroyed, probably more than half drunk, just killing it in a way the builders probably never anticipated.
Those clips from Bucky's pool are so gnarly. Why did he get rid of it, just too expensive? Seemed like the heaviest sessions when it was around, bucky was going nuts too!
Peter and Frank are funny as fuck. You’ll never stop laughing at their shenanigans. Those airs Peter blasted out of Lance Mountain old bowl were narly as fuck. That bowl was like fourteen feet deep. I remember my stomach was queening just looking over the edge into the deep abyss.😮
I was expecting a mini-doc instead we get 10mins of Peter Hewitt skating. That's 100% Skateboarding
Goto vice for documents
First four minutes literally just of him slamming. Genius editing.
i was afraid peter had passed or something when i saw the thumbnail, glad we’re just appreciating his legacy! he’s one of the most important skateboarders period.
Lots of P-Stone footage. RIP Preston.
That switch drop into the pool was absolutely terrifying
This footage is the granite base of an absolute gigantic mountain of a life in skateboarding. Mega respect to one of the realest to ever do it.
This is skateboarding. Period. Eating shit…eating more shit….loving it…and leaving everything destroyed with epic style. Watching him skates scares me…love it.
Grosso forever.
PHELPS PHELPS STILL WATCHING PHELPS PHELPS PHELPS
I sing both versions of "this is how we do it" and "this is peter hewitt" to myself all the time - thank you for immortalizing!
The fact that that vine was done by teenagers/20somethings shows the future is in good hands
I had a Gerwer/Hewitt Grimple Stix. Was my first shaped board that wasn't a popsicle shape after over 100+ boards. Changed my life. I still ride a modern style for doing kick tricks but shaped boards are slept on.
Shaped boards ( the right shape that is) rule for pools and vert. Not all of us are Jimmy Wilkins. A little stability never hurt anyone.
Vert could never die with a style like this ripping around. 🤘
This was so damn good! Pete is a living legend.... Hope to be half as healthy and stable as pete at 50!
Had the pleasure of hanging with Pete a handful of times at Big Wednesday and even running into him at Washington St He was always the nicest most genuine down to earth dude. Not to mention the most sturdy and powerful looking style, so sick!
Yeah he’s always insanely chill at wash. Will talk with anybody
He's dead?
nah hes 50 though and still rips@@kylep3759
one of a kind style. thanks for the trip down memory lane, lot of these clips take me back to my salad days of skating & Hewitt was always a stoking inspiration
The Best! Peter is pure, raw, high speed skateboarding with the best Style. Love it
Had the pleasure of meeting Peter 34 years ago in Daytona ,Florida. One of the best skaters ever, love ya man !
Peter Hewitt in the Anti Hero tent city video will always be a staple of gnarliness when I reminisce to myself nostalgically. I see him do something and I think, “hell no” to revere the significance of scary tricks he pulls off in the sketchiest of spots.
Frank Gerwer and Peter Hewitt are two of my all time favorite skaters. Jeff Grosso is one of my favorite humans of all time.
Holy shit! It might sound ridiculous, but I only just realized that Frank Gerwer and Peter Hewitt are not the same person. I have trouble recognizing faces. Somehow, they occupied the same location in my brain, as OG rad skaters. Thanks XD
switch roll in a backyard pool, I would never try that in my whole life, wow
Right? That was the most insane thing in the whole video!
Frontside, nonetheless!
just thinking about trying it makes my feet tingle@@dontcallmegus
And into. 14 foot bowl
That slam section is INSANE!
The dude ripping it up since day one for all to see in that which is gnarly.
Roots
We used to always try to mimic his frontside 5-0 at the park!!! Best to ever do it!
Us too, He throws his back arm over his head like Conan the Barbarian!
THIS IS PETER HEWITTTTTTTT (THIS IS HOW WE DOOOOOO ITTT)
Power. Grace. Style. This is how you skateboard.
favorite skater ever. Pleasure to watch .dude rips
So many of his tricks are absolutely mind blowing if you know the spots. What a power shredder!
I recently got a Peter Hewitt Grimple board because it was the right size and shape, not knowing who he was, finally googled this. Stoked to represent this guy, he’s a madman, the technicality of some of these tricks is not lost on me.
What a life he’s got to live so far! ABSOLUTE LEGEND!
man, I watched his part in 411 episode 33 on VHS so many times when I was younger. Like every time before I would head out to skate in like 98-2000ish. so fun to watch him rip
all the rad.... fucking need one of these each week, hyped as fuck , off out to skate, thanks
One of a Kind! INCREDIBLE!
Certified legend🤘 This guy is the ripper we all wish we were🤘🤘
Awesome. Monks vert ramp setup looks so sick
Mad skills, bro. That is a part to be proud of! My jaw won't go up for a while
the original makalasi meme has lived rent free in my head for years now
One of the original rippers!🔥🔥🔥
Daam those hewitt's slams was gnarr gnarr 😎🤟 .. so good vid 💪
Damn, I had so many of his Beer Hunter(flannel) shoes from Vox. I can't believe no other companies are copying that shoe. The design was so good.
Some of his skating gives me anxiety like i'm going straight to flat. He's always been impressive, never heard him mentioned for having big airs but damn he had some BIG airs.
The slo-mo on the flat ground heel was sick.
That was rad. He is incredible in his skating!
Hewitt is cut from the same cloth as Cardiel. He does tricks the way they're meant to look, fast as fuck with 0 hesitation. This was incredible.
See kids this is skateboarding. Not everything has to be so serious. Skate to have fun not for an insta clip.
Facts! Had a kid ask me a while ago if I was sponsored, I told him no I just have fun if a sponsorship comes it comes but if it doesn't I'll still be having fun skating and for him just to have fun most important part is just to enjoy it! 👊✌️
Not everything needs a flip in, grind, switch flip 270 out. SLS kids gotta take notes
tracking your progress through clips is part of the fun
The fact that there are real ones out here still thinking like this 🙏🏻
Word❤
Switch roll in at bucky’s 😳🤯😳
I mean...I knew he was gnarly, like really gnarly, but like...I didn't know he was THIS gnarly...like Loop gnarly. Thank you for this.
that was awesome, thank you thrasher!
The world is a better place because of Jeff Grosso.
Nice! Let’s see another with all his outtakes and hi jinx’s with frank
I’m gonna learn bs airs befor the end of this year Peter !
" this is skateboarding"
- Martin scorcesse
Jer Deglopper was on good times with Peter Hewitt, we skated with him in SD. He’s a legend end of story.
Few are those who can say they hippie jumped over Peter Hewitt while carving a pool. Epic video.
Thank you Pete. Happy birthday holmes!!!!! ☄️
RIP GROSSO 👑
The Hewitt am for Hosoi ad was so rad.
He went ham always, remember him crushing on the beauty & the beast tours. Miss those days!
This encompasses skateboarding perfectly.
What up Peter! Much love skateboarding ❤
25 years ago he had epic part in 411 #33. I watched it hundreds of times. 😁
Excellent action! Action and excellence = excellent action!
Peter use to come to my buddies Nathan's spine ramp in UC ( san diego ) back in the day , we were just kids back then and watching him rip for hours was pretty bad ass.
Tile and coping shattering in AH & Creature videos will be played like Mozart during my brain surgery, just so I dont ever forget that shit.
May the gods of infinite stoke bless you with a smooth operation and a speedy recovery

Good luck man, that's so gnarly but rad that you have the love for the community, the skate scene, the diys

This was mesmerizing 💫 ✌🏻
This gives me Dustin 7 day weekend vibes and I love it
Loved this.

ABSOLUTE LEGEND OF A SKATEBOARDER WOWW
PH at Upland Pipeline is a magical thing to behold.
the score is sick!!
So awesome!
I remember. PH is a real one. Incredible handstlye. Good foot stance.
He’s a bad man! Seen him shred a couple times and it’s absurd. Oozing style and skates so fast, love me some PH!
I hate to admit that it was today I realised it was Peter Hewitt who did the air out of the wooden bowl in THPS demo on PS1 (I'm 35)
Somebody else explain what a "Demo" was for PS1 and how you got them
That was. . . . . AWESOME!!!
Mans still got it
The nosgrind to nose manual in on the vert on a board without a nose 🤯
8:51 This Münster line is freaking nuts!!
what a great time
Salute! Hail Hewitt!
Those clips from Bucky's pool are so gnarly. Why did he get rid of it, just too expensive? Seemed like the heaviest sessions when it was around, bucky was going nuts too!
forever young
I can feel a pit in my stomach imagining doing some of this stuff. He's making it look fun but this is some absolutely beast and dangerous tricks
Only banger ❤
