There's something therapeutic about cleaning and sharpening a chainsaw after a day of use. Tunes in the shop at night, a cold beer and a nice cigar. My favorite activity. And anyone who's never put a chain on ass backwards is just too perfect for my liking.
Your videos are a whole other level of inspiration man. We all have a past whether its good or bad and seeing how you've actually grown from learning to live with yours has really been helping me get through all the pain and fear of dealing with my own. Thank you for that video it really helped me out. 👍💜🌲
Cory never apologize for not commenting, if you do you do if you don't then well you have a life to live also just glad your doing better both physically and mentally.
I am so glad to see you doing the basic maintenance on your saw!! I was silver certificate Stihl technician, the amount of neglect and abuse of good equipment I used to see was mind boggling!! Glad you are able to open up and talk, keep up the good work !!!!!
Just saw the other video with you opening up about your struggles. It shows you are in a good place when you can articulate and reflect on your past. Wish more people would talk about mental health! I used to be on Ritalin but now on Atomoxetine which really helps me. Totally agree with the cycle of thoughts and how you can't stop when or switch off! Thanks for sharing man!
Anytime you share your experience honestly and what you think and feel about it, someone will benefit from it and will be better off for it. I really enjoy your videos so keep 'em coming!!! Thanks
Was told more than once that I was obsessive about keeping my saws cleaned and serviced, and you might it do it a bit more than I did! But so many don't clean the tracks, and keep bars and such in good shape, and it just makes the work so much harder. One thing I've found, where you use the Lithium grease, I also caught that doing it, and used cheap grease w/lots of paraffin in it(read like wax) and it stopped it leaking dead, know the white lithium will work too, but usually much more expensive, unless you've found a source for it that I never did. Would put the brand in I used..but believe it's a regional one, and everywhere has the cheaper waxy grease..so just a heads up. btw, anyone who hasn't put a chain on backwards..either hasn't touched a saw..or is lying, lol, it's when you get to a jobsite and see someone getting ready to start a saw like that it gets to ya!
There are a few things the owners manual doesnt really go in depth about... The capacitor in the ignition module is a real thing. Most of the time it doesnt act up but it does hold charge for the brain to keep the initial settings for the carb solenoid. Another thing they dont really tell you about is the factory reset for the brain by leaving the saw running in the start position for over 90 seconds. Both of these things are hard to find in literature but Stihl did leave a breadcrumb with the "cool down" recommendation.
Ya, you don't have to comment if you don't have time. I really enjoy your videos. I'm glad you talk about your depression. I have this affliction too, most of my life. I've had it since I went through puberty. It's caused me to lose a LOT, I was kicked out of my job in the Air National Guard because of it. I drank when I would go home, I didn't pass my CDC's, I was in for 26 years so they couldn't retrain me. It was devastating. That's just one thing that my messed up brain helped me do. My doc keeps on top of my medicine. Well, finally, I'm not great, never will be, mostly, I try real hard NOT to let it define me!! It's my journey, no one else's. The brain is part of the body, it can get sick too. You have your journey as well, it's yours and no one else's! It sure looks like you are standing tall and you have excellent care!! Bravo!
Firstly, as a tree surgeon I'm amazed you find time for RUclips - so no sweat on not responding to comments! Secondly, the grease round the air filter is a fantastic idea. I'll have to remember that one.
Brother, it's good to hear from you. I'm glad you shared your story and your not the only one dealing with life I'm right there with you. Glad to hear the treatment is working well for you
Your previous video explains so much about you. I have some of the same issues. So I can laugh with you.Seeing some of your symptoms . Your OCD's to cleanliness is one ! Keeping everything perfect is another ! The dissembling a practically BRAND NEW vice to lube it is another !! The list goes on :) It is all good though. If it makes you fill good. DO IT !!
Nice to see you take care of your saws. Im the same way. I actually enjoy cleaning up and maintaining my saws as much as I enjoy running them....ok...not quite as much. HAHAHAHAHHA
Great choice Cory. Glad to see your paying attention to your health. If you don't have that, you don't have crap. Just don't forget to look into what you eat. It matters. Keep up the good work dude. 👍
Maybe next video talk about what fuel to use/ mix ratio/ octane And more importantly when to throw it out and mix fresh... and you're right workman comp sucks.
I have the same punch and mine doesn't work unless I loosen the back cap about half a turn. Then it works great! Not sure if you have the same issue with yours but maybe worth a try! Really enjoying the content man, keep it up!
I liked you at "F-U Dan's Tree Service," Now I wish we were neighbors. Takes a strong person to share their frailty with strangers - thanks for posting your story and best of luck with your continued recovery. SOMEBODY HIRE THIS GUY!!
You should put a disclaimer on your videos when you take stuff apart that people like me SHOULDN'T attempt at home 😉. Still trying to put my vise back together after watching your previous video. For some stupid reason I thought it looked like a good idea and easy thing to do and my vise needed cleaning 🤣
wow, clean wed! 10:30 automatic punch a also real great window breaker :p , instead of oil for cooling, I use an old dish washing bottle, with water inside
I have zero thoughts about goin out and workin a chainsaw at all. I'll be happy to grab the waters, the beers for the giys and gals that are runnin chainsaws for me, but not gonna be runnin one myself. I jus watch cause you have kick ass content.
Those punches suck ass! I was going through them all the time, finally said screw it and bought a set of regular punches. Glad you found a doctor to work with you and got meds that work for you! BTW, Jeffrey is spelled "rey" not "ery" LOL. All the best to you, Jeff
I had a doctor /customer of mine look me right in the eye and say "you have the worst case of ADD ADHD I have ever seen.I really didnt notice until he said that.I look back in hindsight and remember aunts and relatives whispering to each other and now I know why.As a person who likes music I could get stuck on 1 album of my favorite bands for 10 years and it still seemed new to me.And with friends I sometimes/always change the subject mid sentence and immediatley after return to the original conversation where I left off. Im doomed.
Pisses me off when the breaker Trips, sit there playing with the ground and wasting time. I now hook up a radio to the same breaker so no music I know what’s up
I always get a semi whenever Coheed or Tool come up on your playlists. Good taste man! Also, have you tried Overwatch yet? I know you're something of a Blizzard fan.
Just weened myself off of warcraft, not looking to get hooked on another drug atm, lol. Nice cude for an avatar =) not that I play hearthstone or anything >.
Hey man, have you ever used the rock exotica unicender? If so I was wondering what you thought about it. I like it a lot more then the rope wrench. I know it cost a lot but it does work well once you get used to. Not many people on RUclips have videos about it.
The past is past love you video's friend you got talent you don't have to call the guy every time you want something done it would be horrible to have to higher some one to come change lite bulb every time one burn out take care 😎👍
good music :P if you like discovering new bands and stuff try listenin to a band called soilwork! they are my favorite. This is a good one -> "soilwork ghosts and thunder", but they are all good xD
Human, actually there is a piping product that is a rubber that "welds" together by heat fusion. You heat the edges up with a heated plate until the rubber rolls back, then push the two ends together and they come together to me a seal. The factory rep told me a chainsaw is actually best to cut it with lol.
I dont know why people freak out about disconnecting the battery before welding a car or trailer etc.. Ive never had a problem leaving it connected, but my ground has never fallen off either.
I once new a guy, (totally not me..........or maybe me.....) that fried some motor control wiring on a conveyor system at a recycling facility. So I'm overly cautious when welding around wiring.
When you drill through metal it is better to use a slow speed. I see you highpowering through metal things in your videos and thought you ought to know a better.
Bro get back in the saddle...it's all the medicine you need....physically and mentally....we are who we are....wood manipulateres with a degree in physics...
Hay human been watching u since u had the fall I live in Australia and have a look at (Ace Tree) on RUclips I'm 19 and u made me want to be a tree climber thanks PS if I ever win big on the lottery I will buy u a new truck we call it ute
There's something therapeutic about cleaning and sharpening a chainsaw after a day of use. Tunes in the shop at night, a cold beer and a nice cigar. My favorite activity. And anyone who's never put a chain on ass backwards is just too perfect for my liking.
Yeah and you have to put one on backwards so all the rest hereafter go on forwards.....every days' a schoolday .. ;¬)
Your videos are a whole other level of inspiration man. I also fought with depression most of my life, adderoll helped me pull through as well. I’m glad it helped you as well.

My best friend takes adderall. He can't get out of the house without it. Keep up the good work !

Its funny you said you need transfer punches...when you drilled the holes for the vice that's the first thing I thought...
I have zero thoughts about goin out and workin a chainsaw at all. I'll be happy to grab the waters, the beers for the giys and gals that are runnin chainsaws for me, but not gonna be runnin one myself. I jus watch cause you have kick ass content.
Sometimes it’s one minute at a time for me bro! Keep lookin up Man!!🤘👍👍
I wish you lived in my state, I would trade you saw work for carpentry work in a heartbeat!
The problem with being smart is you think a lot and that can lead to overthink the bad things
you are a perfectionist lol which is probly a good thing, you should have been a finish carpenter or something
Those punches suck ass! I was going through them all the time, finally said screw it and bought a set of regular punches. Glad you found a doctor to work with you and got meds that work for you! BTW, Jeffrey is spelled "rey" not "ery" LOL. All the best to you, Jeff

Haha I've put a chain on backwards as well but I didn't realize it till I was in the woods.
When i put the chain on backwards I tell my self its for backcuts.
Feel your pain on that Horrible Freight auto center punch. Worst 4 dollhairs I ever spent.
The past is past love you video's friend you got talent you don't have to call the guy every time you want something done it would be horrible to have to higher some one to come change lite bulb every time one burn out take care 😎👍
Your a smart dude cory, BRUSED BUT NOT BROKEN....
good music :P if you like discovering new bands and stuff try listenin to a band called soilwork! they are my favorite. This is a good one -> "soilwork ghosts and thunder", but they are all good xD
If u put a rubber over the air filter it keeps the dirt out 😉
Thanks , I know it was hard for you to make. Job well done!
Nice bead on the trailer!
I have adhd and adderall helped a lot but I feel like it would actually make me feel depressed at times
Fuck yeah, I love Tool.
Good one mate 👍👍🇬🇧
I frickin' love my 261. Cost more than my truck, but worth it :)
To clarify, my truck cost less than a 261.
Your Human SO are we SO just be you ..Roy
I suffer the same problem. I'm not taking in medicine an will not.
No wonder why he’s so organized and works so much and hard he’s on adderal!!!!
I believe I was the one that blew that breaker lol.
Did you paint your plastic on your saw ? Looks good
Yeah, thanks =)
Productive video
6:10 hahaha. You aint a sawman unless its lhitS on that bar!
nice listening to TOOL
Not a bad looking weld. Ever consider being a pipe-fitter? we are always looking for welders
Do pipefitters get to play with chainsaws? lol, I did a bit of it in the navy, not even close to good enough to be a pipefitter though.
Human, actually there is a piping product that is a rubber that "welds" together by heat fusion. You heat the edges up with a heated plate until the rubber rolls back, then push the two ends together and they come together to me a seal. The factory rep told me a chainsaw is actually best to cut it with lol.
I'm on lexapro for anxiety
Only put my chain on backwards a couple thousand times

Not many, couple though. One time I was on my 450 and Travis Pastrana blew by me on his girlfriends 125, lol, he's fast no matter what he rides.

Better safe than sorry. I havent had to learn the hard way... yet
Yeah get off workmans comp as fast as you can and sign any papers they want you to.Not smart.
I worked for a guy that put a brand new chain on background
When you drill through metal it is better to use a slow speed. I see you highpowering through metal things in your videos and thought you ought to know a better.
the grease thing work i did that on my 660 with the hd 1 filter Then i switched to a HD 2 didnt have issues that i needed grease
Human, how do you like the Stihl lightweight bars?
Love it. Just have to make sure and not abuse it though, they are more fragile than a standard bar.
Human Thank you for your time.
What did he go to prison for????
Bull dog jack
Bro get back in the saddle...it's all the medicine you need....physically and mentally....we are who we are....wood manipulateres with a degree in physics...

Thanks lol, yeah, ace is amazing
Can you answer a question for me?
The set up you use that is red and you run a rope
Through to lower brush down what is it called? And it has a ring in it
What do you paint the top of your saws with? They’re sexy
lol, yeah. Not sure what the proper paint to use is, but I use the krylon for plastic spray paint.
does still stick on when it gets heated up from the saw running?
More Tool
Yeah auto punches suck get a set of common center punches.
!
stihl 044 vs husky 372....
Don't have any experience with the 372, so can't say either way.
almost picked up an 372 xp for 400 canukistani dollars at the pawn shop....but decided to keep it all stihl in the family...
Any kind of welding-cutting or grinding on the tongue of that trailer isn't legal.......but Fuck it
mds s ?
mds s says who?
nate heston lol the Missouri hwy patrol and the plates on any trailer
God i love idaho. Just registered my 2500 dodge to haul 16k and you can tale any trailer and register it as homebuilt lol.
nate heston in Missouri to pull a 5th wheel camper or stock trailer it requires a class a license
Music in the background. Not a fan.
You put your chainsaw bar on upside down...
Christopher Colnaghi, it would bother me day in day out till I fix it.
James Luck : Arborists do this on purpose to balance out the wear and tear of the bar by flipping it over !
You are supposed to alternate how you put the bar on every so often to make it wear more even It's like rotating the tires on your car
