If you want to play songs by and have a similar tone to Bruce Springsteen, check out a Squier Telecaster, it’s a cheaper version of fender which is the original brand he uses. Epiphones and Yamahas are also good.

I personally use a squier stratocaster I got for $300 and have found no problems with it.
