- Sorry for the delay!!! But I've finally finished it! It's hard to believe this video came out in 2000!! And since then, I've seen this medley thousands of times. So I figured what better way to pay tribute. This one is for you Marvin "Uncle Marv" McQuitty Jr.
I set my kit up exactly how it is in the video and I TRIED to replicate his style and feel lick for lick. I even have the same model hi hats and 10 in snare drum that he used. I also reversed the audio signals from the original video so you can hear the similarities and differences in the hi hat work.

I'm watching this in 2021 and this video has always been my favorite Fred Hammond live concert. I'm no musician but I have a ear for drums and bass.. Marvin was in a class by himself. Sir, you gave this tribute justice and honestly speaking bro, you are the truth..you killed this...God Bless

2019 and I just seeing this. First as an engineer your mix over this is HANDS DOWN CLEAN AND PERFECT. Mixed just as if you are playing there. Secondly, I was at this show and I can close my eyes and pocket for pocket YOU NAILED IT!

Marvin McQuitty was a good drummer i remember this video from when i was a kid in the early 2000's and wow i didn't know that Marvin McQuitty passed away.!!! i send my condolences to your uncle. R.I.P.
Jovon Pemberton understament Marvin McQuitty is a phenomenal drummer and still is . He’s gone but his spirit lives on. You can’t see him with your eyes but can still feel him in our hearts
I have to say I prejudge...thinking no one can be on point with his style. I have to say you were on POINT!! With a mix of your style. He was and still is one of my favorite drummers! Thank you for that treat!! I love this concert, listen to it nearly everyday and I seem to hear something new each time. Fred had an awesome team on this CD!!

I miss Marvin his sound his counting & timing was perfect & tight. Only fleshy when needed. I think in my opinion he perfected tight pocket drumming. RIP
