- I got this Ermax Belly Pan in from MotoMachines.com and it's awesome! I have always loved the way a belly pan finishes off the look of just about any bike, and it really transforms the look of the Yamaha triples IMO. Quality is top-notch, 99% OEM and install is simple, I have no issues with it.

I have been following your blog for a week or two and your taste in the MT09 is exactly like mine! Im buying a 2018 in canada in the next few weeks, and unfortunately the black has been discontinued due to an issue with the black paint. I chose red as my backup and was planning on getting it wrapped but I actually really like the red after watching so many of your videos. I agree the belly pan is an absolute must as well as most of the other ermax pieces including the passenger seat cover. I like the puig radiator side covers too painted to match. really aggressive look.
You took the words out of my mouth. It definitely makes the mike look finished and and certainly more premium.

You should put the 3M scuff and Chip protection on them. Would save money in the future. Like you did for you pant leg and boot issue on the FJR.

Wow! That indeed does tie everything in nicely on the bike. I like that it’s color matched. Since the bike won’t be on trails as opposed to an ADV bikes skid plate, I think chips will be at a minimum. That looks great!
Don't like the 2 empty holes,maybe you do need to paint the mesh black and fit it.
Personal preference. You can do that to yours ;)
Thanks, I wasn't aware these were available! Looks much better than I expected, I like it. Will have to get one of these for my SP if they have the right colour. Will be fitting the mesh though :)

sweet..! good review mate, so if you had an aftermarket exhaust you could possibly cut out the middle brace to suit as long as you leave enough to support it?

Loving your vids man. I'm almost done installing all my upgrades for the 2018 season, was wondering about this perticular bellypan fitment... and wow, we have nearly all the same upgrades! How's that comfort seat? Just finished ordering one, I'm curious to know if it was worth the investment! Great vids my friend

You have had this on for a kong time how is it holding up any paint issues, I am installing mine on a SXR900 and I got my painting guy to through 4 heavy coats of clear to help with rocks, the grill it's call can of black spray paint and spray paInt clear I am going to install mine will decide if I'm going to paint or leave silver. To me it adds a lot to the looks and hellp keep crap out like rocks. I have a carbon fiber front fender extention highly recommend getting one. Like to hear how it's held up.
I came across this video after diving into the rabbit hole of possible track full fairing kits or prototype ideas for my '19 MT09... after all my mods, why would anyone want an r6, tho if it were just that easy to find a legit good looking full race bodywork kit, or if they were out and about yet...
Nice video. I want to buy this for my Niken because it has the same body of a MT 09. I don’t want to pay $300 but also don’t trust most websites. Which did you buy from?
The bike looks great. It reminds me of a Ktm 990 SuperDuke. Hopefully it doesn't get too hot down there. Heat tape might help if it ever becomes a problem.

For anyone wondering. The Yosimura y-series exhaust must be different than the actual yoshi. The belly pan 100% does not fit with the y-series.
The y series, is only sold through Yamaha and includes a catalytic converter.
@@TwoWheelObsession I had foolishly assumed that the ermax belly pan would fit with the y-series exhaust, but the bend in the pipes is different and contacts the belly pan in several places.

looks great...i have had the ermax website saved for sometime now as i think their stuff looks bomb! for my money i think the supplied mesh needs to be installed and blacked out, just to tie in with the fake air intakes from the front view.. I will be getting the same, when we finally receive the SP models down under, but will be getting the wheels and air intake mesh sprayed exactly the same colour as the blue stripe on the tank of the SP model...to me the wheel colour (color for you Americans) on the SP and the blue bikes looks cheap and poverty and basically flat! ...I want high gloss rim, not that cheap after thought Yamaha did when finally releasing said colours
I’m going to cut and paint them, see how it looks. But trust me in person it’s awesome without too. You can’t even notice unless you are at the right angle

It fits - the year designation is just about the paints available
The Yoshimura pipes don't sound as good as the Akrapovic. They may fit better for the belly pan, but it's a naked bike and you're putting more plastic on it. 🤔
Does this provide any protection or is it only for aesthetics?

Imo they dont have the OEM look but there aren't any great pics out there yet.

Another thing i've been thinking about unrelated to looks.
A steering damper. I think it needs one. But I have a VERY hard time finding a mount for one.

I've contacted ermax and they've said it will fit with an akroprovic exhaust......I've had to edit it this now 😡 as it does Not, email sent back to Ermax gggrrrrr

TwoWheelObsession mine had brackets to mount and removing engine bolts to mount. It was not bad once I figured how to mount the brackets. You would think the bracket would have been one piece nope.

If the under seat was black, I would - but having the two parts that close I don't think would look good, to me at least. I have one more red change coming soon that should wrap it up ;)
I must say I don't like it because you can see so much of an exhaust pipes under it. :/
