now I know what Vader and Thrawn felt, this is just so relaxing. If I was an Imperial officer having my own flagship, I would spend most of the time on the bridge and I would be slightly pissed if someone interrupted my quiet just for reports
It is easy to slip into a relaxed mental state as you just watch the stars go by, listening to the ambient sounds of your bridge crew working at their stations, hearing the hums of computers, and the soft hisses of recycled oxygen, among others.
"This is not a cattle market, Lieutenant. This is the bridge of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Information is not simply shouted in the direction of its intended recipient."
If you a senior officer on the bridge, you'll be busy with all those checks, records, protocols, reports, intermediations with other officers from your ship, and other ships. You'll pray for free time to think and plan. That's why there are different positions for the captain of the ship and the admiral.
People tend to not realize that it sometimes took weeks to months to travel across the galaxy. This was portrayed really well in the Star Wars Post Endor Legends books where the sheer scale of travel, even in the fastest ships in the galaxy, showed how slow paced Star Wars actually was. We hear music in the movies, but in the books we see Luke and Han aimlessly walking around the Falcon for 2 weeks when they need to go somewhere, with nothing but this silence and empty space. This video does a great job at portraying the silence! The official audio books are quiet like this for a good 50% of the novel because whether it was at the senate building, the bridge of an ISD, the remnants of Endor, or some far off planet, life was mostly quiet.
I stumbled across this in my search for the ambient sounds they used in the Thrawn: Ascendency books as I wanted something to write too, now I get to imagine just how peaceful it would be to sit there on the night shift. Skeleton crew, low power and lights, no hustle and bustle of day crew. Just pure blissful peacefulness.
I have listened to this over 5 times now, such a good ambience to have on in the background while working. Like to feel like I'm working on an Imperial Star Destroyer. Excellent work!
Using this now in the background as I study. Love it! Thanks! This is why I became a Patreon sponsor. The mostly static scenes, but with ambient sounds and the little transitions that happens every once in a while. (light speed, red alert, star movement, planet, death star, etc.) Great stuff!
Be it a Venator, Victory , imperial I or Imperial II this is such inmersive to imagine be in the bridge looking out the galaxy, maybe even see star fighters fly by doing a routine patrol, to a surprise engagement, i still think even to this day that had disney used a in universe decomissioned star destroyer refurbished as a museum and hotel at a fraction of the cost this likely be one of the most sought after with guests having the proper clothing to inmerse in the bridge, go the hangars and experience fighter simulator, or maybe even have some target practoce with troopers or training droids and be given a small rank plaque as a souvenir given as their overall imperial grading in all the tasks
This is amazing! Really enjoyed this and the Coruscant skyline. If you made an 8-10 hour version of these I’d put them on to go to sleep every single night without a seconds thought.
This is near perfection for spaceship ambience! Of all the ambience videos I've listened to, this has the best balance between the calming, repetitive drone of routine activity, and the interjection of out-of-the-ordinary disruptive activity (hyperspace jumps, radio chatter, red-alert, troopers walking by, computers beeping). So many other ambience videos have too much of the disruptive activity going on, like constant radio chatter that never ceases, or computers beeping non-stop.
Could it have been so hard for Disney/KennedyFilms to do this Bridge for their sad and super expensive hotel instead of that 80's B-movie bridge/videogame?!?
@@bkane573 if you've stayed there and didn't like it thats okay. Everyone has their opinions. But if you are saying that it is bad without having experienced it yourself then that is like judging a book or movie without having read or seen it.

I haven't been active in the Star Wars fandom for about a year now, ever since I got back into Silmarillion, but honestly this is poking the SW plot bunny hutches...
This is amazing. I have been able to knock out 4 Star Wars Legends books in the past 4 months thanks to this video. It has also helped me fall asleep and block out the constant ringing in my ears. Thank you!
I love it. It's so relaxing. I love listening to this while modding. I'd love one that is inside a Venator. Id love to just randomly hear the venator alarm going off and like instead of ties flying out, some gunships flying out. And for hyperspace like coruscant, kamino, geonosis etc
Thanks for creating this really helps me relax. 😁 also I knows it not very difficult but maybe a venator Star destroyer could be done by someone at some point? Thanks again for making this.
Lol @ 7:42 when the stormtrooper comes on and is like "This is TK-???? Cloud City Ambush detachment, I just blasted a ??? droid, I need somebody to come clean this up..."
Of all the computer processing sounds I've heard, the ones in Alien were my absolute favorite, and they worked really well with the rest of the sounds I used. Good ear!
I'm considering doing that for this one and the Coruscant Skyline ambiences. Though, I wouldn't want to just loop it 5 times, so I'll probably add to them (other destinations for the ISD, maybe a sunrise for Coruscant).
Wow this was great if you are thinking of making another one which i pray you are could u please add Tie fighters patrolling around the ship etc and after lightspeed maybe have the ship rendezvous with a fleet with other ties around etc i think it would be brilliant bur other than that thanks!!!!!
Thats brilliant work right there. We need more imperial officers and engineers centered ambience (if that makes sense).I really like the concept keep it up
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the analog technology of the star wars universe.
It is just more dependable.
It's lovely to see space travel as imagined in the late 1970s. I've always appreciated the lack of instant communication for civilians.
Can we just please take a moment to appreciate the incredibly original comment?
Can we

you're crazy if you think vader ever felt relaxed after he was first encaged in that suit otehr than when hes in his bacta tank or personal chamber
Now imagine the absolute terror of suddenly hearing Vaders breaths and footsteps approaching
That should have been how the video ended
Thank you very much for this, Imperial stuff is always awesome, now I can imagine being an admiral while studying for the exams

What about when Admiral Piet said the Mellenium Falcon "could be on the other side of the Galaxy by now!!" When the falcon jumped to light speed!!
"This mission will be easy, you said. But nothing about a Star Destroyer is easy."

Great vid, very chill
Only just realized, we actually approach the Death Star...awesome!!
YES! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I have a hard time sleeping occasionally, and as a passionate die hard Star Wars fan. THIS MADE MY NIGHTS. THANK YOU!

The B1 droids are so funny. I felt sorry for them whenever General Grevious smashed one for saying something he didn’t like.

The hyperdrive through the window was a particularly good touch.
Love hearing this while reading The Thrawn Triolgy.
literally same!! reading Thrawn Ascendancy and imagining hearing this while they’re talking about strategies haha
Definitely imagining I'm on the ISD Chimaera lol
The lines from the first Star Wars Battlefront immediately brought me nostalgia. Love this ambience!
