For some Reason I thought of Scooby Doo, and here I am filled with Nostalgia now. Goddamn do I miss the old 2000's Scooby Doo Films. They all are truly underrated.
I can’t explain why but the combination of the way the shot is framed and the specific line “stay out of the sun” from 1:09 to 1:12 when Shaggy is looking away from the camera in the bottom middle and the monster comes out of the trees towards him just works so well I watched this movie all the time as a kid and even then I can remember thinking that one small shot is t best but I couldn’t explain why. I think it’s just the line of staying out of the sun and the monster being big enough where it could block out the sun if it was daytime out. And I just love the framing of Shaggy being so small in the bottom middle and the entire frame starts to move from the monster coming through the trees. Just like the way it makes him feel so small in comparison in a good way I know it’s such a small and insignificant thing to praise this much but I’ve always loved that shot for some reason
Yeah I also love it. They drew Shaggy pretty well, both the pose and the "stumbling" animation. It's little details like that that make these early 2000s DTVs really special to me. Also the song, "Brown Dog" being a clear allusion to Scooby. Another moment I also like from the film is the first chase sequence, the entire song describes exactly what's happening during the chase and it also represents Shaggy and Scooby's friendship. It's really sweet.
Those first couple of straight-to-DVD movies were really good and full of passion imo. Getting the orginal voice cast for the Music of the Vampire as the live action movie was coming out was a brilliant choice. It even opens with a recreation of the original show opening
Yep, I do like it. The movie made it quite amphibious and kind of looks even more sinister and definitely convince us. Yep this is definitely a monster that we should stay away from.
@@eternalmaximum6899 I know that I'm just saying this after the last time I rewatched this movie and I say that the CGI animation is a bit outdated, the rest is still great
This movie introduced me to the loch ness monster as kid this thing was awesome I swear the late 90s and early 2000s made the monsters in the movies and shows edgy and badass

Watching this as an adult, being the first time watching it in years and years, it was so obvious Fiona Pembrook was the monster. Signs: -The characters kept referring to the monster as a 'her'. -She was barely even with the Scooby Doo gang throughout the movie. -Some things Fiona said that I can't remember. -She had a deep OBSESSION with trying to prove the monster is real. -Early on in the movie when the monster first attacked Shaggy and Scooby, she destroyed the games field so thar Ian would leave. This movie had me being like "JUST UNMASK THE MONSTER ALREADY, WE KNOW WHO IT IS". But it's still a good movie, kids would still most likely overlook the signs.
I believe it wasn’t to get rid of Sir Ian, but more so to free up his attention from “focusing on the Highland Games ” to “focusing on the monster.” Which, she honestly succeeded in doing in hindsight as Sir Ian did come back with what amounted to a state of the art vessel made for underwater scoping and a serious crew to patrol the Loch Ness.
This was actually originally going to be done in an animesque style and titled "Scooby-Doo and the Anime Invasion." But while kids liked the idea, parents did not, and so the studio executives had this re-tooled into being a 70-minute episode of "What's New, Scooby-Doo".
@@superultimatexlrfire462 Well, a few elements may have been used in that, but I'm pretty sure the WBA executives rejecting the idea and told them to just make the direct-to-video movies in the same style as "What's New, Scooby-Doo", and so they ended up writing this one. (Would've been nice if they continued the "retro" format they did for "Legend of the Vampire" and "Monster of Mexico" for at least a few more years.)
@@ZakWolf That doesn't mean that Scooby Doo and The Anime Invasion was retooled into this since this is so drastically different from what that film could've been. Pretty damn sure the movie was retooled and recycled into what became Mask of The Blue Falcon.
@@ansumanahargett6227 And I am really confident in that this movie isn unrelated to the unmade "Anime Invasion" film since a couple weeks ago I saw an interview with one of the film's writers and they showed something that made it very clear that from the start of it's production, "Scooby-Doo! and The Loch Ness Monster" was always a film about the gang going to Scotland and revealing the real identity of a fake Loch Ness Monster, and it being left up in the air if Nessie was real or not.
