Outdoorsman 88 the 440 kit isn’t brand new it’s already been broken in and the fender is wobbly because a body screw backed itself out the bikes never been rolled a day in its life

I have been really wanting a built 400ex but a lot of people say that the big bore kits and all that is when they start breaking, has that been your case?

Yea I think stage 2 cams is the way to go I’ve never had a machine with stage two cams that also wasn’t bored out but I do know on my quad it has AWSOME acceleration and can do wheelies up into 4th gear now I’m not sure about valve springs the understanding is that stiffer springs usually means more power I’m not sure if mine has stiffer springs or not but I would say go for it talk to some guys at your local shop ask what they think and I’m sure you’ll get a good answer then

Hi idk if you would able to help but i just recently fixxed my valve cover on my 400ex and i went to start it two days later and it hust lost spark i tried a new ignition coil as well and still no spark
shon sherwood I’m not truly sure what size they are because they were on when I bought them but i do know they have these aluminum clamps that raise them up about an inch or two and it’s a very comfortable ride height sorry I couldn’t help you
@@JboysTV dude my 03 400ex knows what ripping is. That wasn't ripping, my rear tires don't know what grip is even though they're brand new still have the green line. I could do the same you're doing on a 70cc 4stroke. And a missing screw isn't gonna make a fender do that much bouncing, my plastic is missing the screw and push rivet on the left and barely wobbles at all. But im down to race if you're around TN or go ride somewhere. I'll show ya what these amazing machines can do unless I blow it up lol

Fordguy yea I can look at them for sure and when you start getting into all these real big engine mods it’s completely normal to blow a head gasket you just have to buy stronger ones I’ve blown valve cover gaskets and head gasket before you kinda sign up for lots of maintenance and repairs when you bore a machine out it’s like owning a race car it’s constantly needing fixes and a 440 could actually be faster then a 450r because the 440 is a lighter engine in a smaller frame and it has more torque then a stock 450r so if you want no maintenance and maybe a LITTLE slower a 450r is for you but if you like working on your bike and doing repairs then get the stage two cams because the more power the engine makes the more things will break but you’ll have a damn fast 400ex

@@JboysTV no problem bud don't take anything I've said badly I own my own raceshop it's not huge and it's just me and a longtime friend working at it but I build a lot of 400s for people along with many other bikes and quads but the 400 is my favorite with the right mods they can breathe fire and I love it :) I actually ride my 400s more than my 86 cr500 because I just love the power and that I can relax and still scream and dig ruts haha ;) and it sounds like you did a lot to you 400 and I hope it's bringing you lots of enjoyment :) nice video to man ;)

It’s a Honda thing mine was excessive because of a bad timing chain but any Honda will have a slight ticking especially with a cam because of how much more travel they gain
I'm not trying to single your quad out but how come everybody spends all this money on motor and dress up parts but half the quads plastics aren't barely attached ... imo I would skip some of the not needed parts to make my quad look as good as it runs... just my opinion... again not picking on your quad but more just everybody seems to spend way to much on little dress up stuff and not keep the quad looking good... it's like a rust bucket truck falling apart but it has brand new rims and tires... ??
bernhard85 funny you say that because this video was when I first had the quad and bought from the previous owner with the plastics loose and falling off and I actually got all new fasteners and repainted the plastics
@@JboysTV I definitely was picking on your quad it ran good I was just watching a bunch of vids and that's how I found yours :) yours is actually in way better shape than most videos I watched some people barely had wires and stuff held on haha but I'm glad you got it tightened up man its a good quad and they are damn near bulletproof as long as you change the fluids I've had both of my 04s for around 6-7 years and I haven't had to take them apart since the day I built them both when I got them they run great with good maintenance :)
Elvis Markstrom if you mean the ticking it’s just a loose chain and the valves where a little loose but believe me this thing not only runs it screams especially since the new sleeve and high compression piston that where recently put into it
Tyler Turner if you look up any video of a quad with stage 2 cam none of “lope” in a small gas engine the valves don’t open far enough or long enough to “lope” like in a v8 and it’s also a single cylinder

270_tmh no I’ve never had any problems but with any motor when you start pushing more power through it things will need to be maintained sooner

It could be a bad coil your stator or a faulty ground
