Pat Cummins said in the post match interview that they were expecting India to post a target of 300 or more. India couldn't even get to 250 due to Australia's masterful bowling and fielding effort. Now you can keep thinking about all the what-if scenarios you want but you have to admit, that the Aussies were mentally prepared for everything to come in the final. India weren't.

Many people are saying India was the best team. In 1983, India was portrayed as one of the weakest teams in wc but the world cup is always won by impactful performances like 175 by Kapil dev, yashpal sharma man of the match in semi final and final also(India lost 2 matches also in 1983 wc)
Same goes for Aus. 201 by Maxi lifted the team morale and Ultimately won the lost match which completely changed their campaign. 177 by Marsh, 163 by Warner, 140 by Head and his all round performance in Semi final stamped the authority of Champions for Australia.
For India it was all about Kohli and Shami only.(if they didnt perform exceptionally we couldnt have won semi final also against NZ).
So as an Indian fan, I accept that the we were 2nd best very proudly where many teams competed.☺. We will always root our team even if they lose or win. 2025 champions trophy and 2027 wc💓 bring it home.

💯look With the kind of resources Indian team and these players have and only 10-12 teams play cricket ,out of that 4-5 teams are genuinely strong so reaching semifinal is no big deal ,there real test lies in knockouts where they have continuously fail in last 10 years and even the losses they faced is not a small losses,they have been completely outplayed everytime because they play timid & stat driven cricket . It's total embarassing losses they have suffered in knockouts which is pathetic 💯. So no point to support them anymore . Yes it may sounds well that we support them in losses but the question is how many times . In last decade it has been happening repeatedly for same reasons . 💯

IND play IPL annually for 2 months on home pitches additionally all year out they play bilaterals also so they knew these conditions eyes closed 🔐!! Though I don't like ENG too but they don't have a league as big and loooong as the IPL in their backyard..! It was my opinion** what hardwork..and additionally IND had a 12th man in the form of terribly one-sided crowd support nowhere else would u see such a thing!! I do not live in India, so we would have to wake up every morning at 3:30 AM. Damn bro, what a tournament. We had at least 5 watch parties, one at Chinmaya Mission, with 100+ people for the final (search up chinmaya mission), we cheered and cheered, until we literally lost our voices, and experienced the 2 months of our lifetime. When India lost the cup, I was devestated. I mean literally, I cried myself to sleep, barely ate, and was quiet for the two days after our loss. Soon, I realized I shouldn't be sad, but proud of my beautiful, amazing India. Mohammed Shami, for his 24 wickets, the highest of the tournament, Virat Kohli, or the most runs, ever, at any world cup, and his 50 centuries. Shubman Gill, (use to be) number 1 ODI ranked bastman, Mohommad Siraj (used to be) number 1 ranked bastmen. Ravindra Jadeja, our star, the best fielder in the world. Every single player played such a crucial role. So, instead of being sad, let us be proud of our country. Love from the US.
