I’ll give Lindy credit. He’s at least trying to instill a modicum of defensive awareness into these kids but they are just as lost in the d-zone now as they were years ago.
Even if Pegula fires Adams, I have no confidence on who he hires long term to the GM position. He doesn't want the very best, he wants to hire a GM who lacks experience at that role so he can pay the person less, like he has done three times in a row. Pegula is in over his head on how to run a hockey organization. Hire a qualified president of hockey operations to run the team (whose last name isn't Pegula). Take the Golisano approach.
I believe the sabres do have a president of hockey Chief Operating Officer- Pete Guelli for the Bills and Sabres/ 5 yrs with the NY Giants - 0 NHL experience Senior Vice President of Business Operation - Rob Minter
All this talk the past couple years of "being harder to play against", and no significant progress has been made. So many guys on this team, refuse to hit anything, refuse to harass the opponent on a consistent basis. Credit to Zach Benson, but the grittiest, most aggressive player on your team should not be a 5' 10" 170lb 19 year old kid. This team is spineless.
Painful to watch for sure. Power not getting the puck out on goal one. Defensive failures over and over. Bright spots for Benson, Greenway, Tage, etc. Johnson can skate, but some tough mental mistakes, UPL was solid, but a loss is a loss. Bench whoever you need to bench. Best we can do until a shakeup happens.
What I see in the D group isn’t a skill issue. It’s an effort issue. Not naming names, but there are consistently goals against where the culprit is a player not being moved from the front. There’s also some D men who are giants, who have been here years, who have never once missed a game due to injury, because they never ever take on contact.
Totally agree with you. We became "harder to play against" in the forward lines, but still don't have D men who can clear out the front of the crease. Even from a scrap perspective, we aren't much tougher, as a team, from when Miller got sideswiped by Lucic.
Definetly get young Ryan Johnson back to Rochester. He can and will be brilliant someday with his great skates. But he is serious liability at nhl level right now.
“I know that’s a culture change.” Lindy is going to drag this team kicking and screaming into the playoffs, or just…relevance, or he’s going to die trying.
Also. They’re 44-50-8 at home since 2022. I hate to say it but it was predictable that if the wheels came off on the season, it would be on a big home stand. And that’s what happened. And that is so messed up. 0-5-3 with 7 of 8 at home.
Thank God for Lindy, he's doing what he can do with the roster he has and he's trying to imporove his team through the chaos a depleted roster and sub par organization. Don't give up on this team, there are rays of hope, we have to get a more talented, smarter g.m. that is able to come in and make organizational changes that need to be made in scouting, staffing, etc. If McBeane can do it with the Bills, There are people out there that can steady this ship, Anyone paying attention knows Adams was going to be a bust when he sat on his hands & did nothing to help his team get oer the hump at the trading deadline 2 years ago and missed a huge opportunity to change the culture and make the playoffs. Ownership needs to start paying attention to what's going and manage their management team or sell the team to someone who will.
It was a decent game, that is all I am looking for now. Sabres just need to simply their game and be stronger on pucks. More hits, dump and chase, tenacity and they will be fine.
It seems hindsight is quite revealing..that was a pathetic effort at all levels except for goaltending..i cant beleive they classify as an NHL calibre team . GRIT comes from within .
Well, the Sabres already own the longest losing streak in NHL history at 18 games ..... we're 8 into it this time and looking more and more like we could challenge that total this year .... almost halfway there guys .... keep throwing away those 3rd period leads and be as soft as marshmallows ..... you can do it ! This has got to be the SOFTEST team in the history of the league - can't play hockey consistently and refuse to hit anyone at any time .... and the entire league knows it. Licking their chops waiting for their next game with the "team that wants to be the hardest to play against"
Until they start winning again, it's all hot air, from Kevyn, from Lindy, from any of the players. It's just talk. Means nothing with the team still playing like garbage.
I think that's Adams worst problem. He gets freaked out about making a "Bad" trade. He won't act when he needs to (NOW) because he's afraid of the backlash. His track record is pretty good, in total. But it takes him forever to pull the trigger. How long did we mess around with the Eichel deal? I think it worked out for both clubs. Everyone freaked out about trading Savoie. Why? He was just another classic Buffalo undersized forward and who knows what his NHL play will be like? Adams needs to put his big boy pants on and make something happen, right now, before it's 14 years without a trip to the playoffs.
@@AJ-fw3mu Resigning Okoposo and Girgensons and the other retreads was I bet was all adams could do since no One wants to come here. Then over pay a couple of players to come here. He over paid some already to stay here

I used to complain about Darcy R. …I’d take him back in a heartbeat
@@MrChewy63 At least Darcy took the chance. more positive than negative when he did them
Moments of brilliance surrounded by hours of mediocrity. That’s the team we have today. So frustrating, the talent is there.
Talent ? If there was talent it sure would be seen by now
Is it?
How do we know that?

Lindy needs to bag the hell of of them next practice. Suffer for their lack of effort
FIRE KEVYN ADAMS TODAY

Same mistakes. Defensive deficiencies and can’t hit the net
JJ plays way too much perimeter, needs to get in the fight for God sakes.

Is winning face offs especially on power play not important to this team, just give them the puck, these coaches must see how pathetic, hard to watch.

Train wrack is back in Buffalo...
Whole sale changing coming everyone getting fired but Lindy and traded but dahlin upl everyone else is up for grabs
Rob Blake got the Kings back into the playoff with Trades in 4 years.
