  • Even while committed to God’s Word, pastors may be influenced indirectly to reduce their trust in the authority of the Scriptures. In this session, D. A. Carson gives examples of how this can occur, the dangers it represents to Gospel ministry, and strategies that pastors can employ to meet these challenges effectively. As Christian ministers hold fast to biblical truth and communicate it to their congregations, the difference between God’s truth and worldly viewpoints is made clear and the church is edified.

every pastor should be required to watch this. In fact, this is one of the most relevant videos I've heard on RUclips.

I thoroughly enjoy sound preaching, may the Lord bring up more the next generation of Pastor/teachers, missionaries, evangelists, and theologians. D.A. Carson is a dear brother may the Lord strengthen and keep him in his labors for the King!

    Outstanding!
This is a strong foundation for overcoming our worlds think. And getting on track with following the truth.

God's Truth will stand to ALL generations and D A Carson is one who holds the ground on the comprehensive truth of the whole counsel of God. He is one today who substantially helps us to increase our discernment of the seducing spirits from the evil one that has crept into the institutional 'church'. The Remnant ekklesia need to hold onto the Sword of the Word like Eleazar's hand was frozen to his sword in his refusal to back down against the enemy.

Rick McMullen, amen…the best teachers will confound and astound. Challenge a person because they are rightly dividing the word and often the Word of God is so contrary to our flesh brains’ initial feelings and desires.

Pastors in my Seventh Day Adventist Church have two obvious strains regarding their personal style in teaching about the law and how to look at the Catholic Church. Which historically the church has taken the position the Reformers did, namely that it is the Beast power in Revelation and Daniel.
The Pastor's which emphasis obedience to the decalogue less rigidly tend to be less critical of the Vatican and those who rail about it are more likely to be converted men who can see the distinction and danger more readily. Having had an outside look in.
    Very insightful lecture.

DA Carson is great as always. Good insight into subtle ways of leaving the Word of God. Thanks for your thoughts and bringing to light issues that are easy to miss, pride seems to be at the heart of many of them. Praise be to God for His word.

Thank you for causing me to work out some things and use my mind to consider how I handle the Word Of God and if My own bent has had an impact on the Truth.
    Excellent teaching .

Wow! You could hear a pin drop!
Love this! Oh, how I pray every person in that audience left there with a deep conviction to exalt the whole counsel of God.
If you want to see just how pervasive this is - look up the Ray Boltz interview and then read the comment section.
"You cannot evangelize people you don't love". So true! People aren't dumb - they know when you're just acting as a salesman.
Don't know who said it but it's true - "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".

How many of the pastors have any discernment regarding their congregation secret lives, outside the church. How many sit quietly in their pews. How many feel energised by the rituals and the sacrements and not the gospel truths about themselves.

Is the gospel not also the word of God? ~27:15 I know the gospels are only a few books, but it's not part of the word of God? Isn't the whole bible the word of God? Thank you for helping

    • @lokyew1396
      @lokyew1396 6 лет назад

yes the whole bible is the word of God. it is also a historical account of what happened in the past. if you need prove, read matthew 4 where Jesus was tempted by the devil. Jesus used Deuteronomy 8 as authority against the devil.

Ambiguous! Is this your attempt at sarcasm? If it is, then who's ambiguous you or Carson? He couldn't be more clear! 😀
