Many thanks for this tutorial video. Wonderful to learn the art in sewing leather bags. I really appreciate your skills in showing the steps how to use the tools. Wonderful to learn from you.

It looks easy because it is. Also the lack of attention to detail was super obvious in this video. Maybe because they got lazy to record and build at the same time but I would never buy something so carelessly made.

Question, when you installled the straps to the tote and the pocket on the inside how is it going to stay put around the magnetic clasp/button (I’m new still don’t know all the lingo or correct names to parts) because I only see 4 rivets holding it together I would really like to know I’m stumped or if anyone knows I would appreciate the help thank you in advance from TEXAS
Hey Jorge! So on the top of the pocket, I make a hole for the magnet to go through so it's able to clip closed. I'm not sure if this explanation helps, if not, pop me an email on bousleather@gmail.com and I'll send you a picture that might be better for you to understand. Thanks for watching! 🤲🏽
Thank you for the video. Great work! I’m starting my second bag and want to use the magnet clip. your video is the first I’ve seen that shows how to install and cover it just like I want to. Where did you get, or make, your makers mark stamp?
Hey David! Thank you so much🙏🙌 Glad the video is helping you out. I had it made by a company called Bros Engraving here in Cape Town. This one is brass, but they do make magnesium ones which are a bit cheaper. Keep well and thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching Anke! 🤲🏽 It depends, these straps are around 60-65cm. If it's too short, it won't fit over your shoulder. Best to try a long strap, and shorten it to your liking.
Loving the video and starting a bag! Inspired by you! The one thing I’m having trouble with is finding a press to emboss my logo into the bag. I’ve already got a brand I had made for wood turning but I’m really struggling to find an affordable press. Can I ask what is the one you’re using and if any other watchers have any recommended presses or ideas for what I could use ( or tips to make the crappy one I’ve got work better!). Thanks and keep up the great work. Subscribed!
Thanks so much! I actually got gifted this Arbour Press from my father inlaw. The only tricky part about this one is that the branding block has to be straight before you apply any pressure. I've been caught a few times when it moves slightly and the branding ends up skew, then the whole item is basically wasted. I'd still recommend it, but brand with caution. Lol. I'm not sure if anyone else could recommend another option for but this one was bought at Adendorff Tools in Cape Town and as far as I know was fairly inexpensive. Thank you so much for watching Pedro! 🙏🏾🙌🏽

Hi, thanks a lot for the advice. Now that I have my shopping list, need to venture out under safe conditions to get hold of the start up tools. And some off cuts.
Good afternoon Tell me, please, if you need to make a bottom of 12 centimeters in width, then on each side make a cut of 6 centimeters or can it be less? Perhaps when all the seams are sewn and turn the bag inside out, then outwardly it will not look nice from below? Tell me how best.
Hi! Yes, the cuts need to be half of what you want the width to be. If its less it will not line up properly and you'll be left with a gap. If you are doing it for the first time, try with a spare piece of material before you use actual leather. Also always start with a slightly bigger piece so that you can trim it down to the perfect size. I hope this helps!
