The confusion between Sonic and Shadow made more sense in Sonic X because the military only saw shadow in the dark obscured by smoke from behind, so they only saw his spines.
So the military was racist.

@@Chara_Dreemurr1 Super Sonic exists, and also has red eyes on top of the inverted spines. I used to think the hedgehog confusion made no sense until I realized that Sonic does have some pretty out there transformations that differ pretty significantly from his standard self, so it makes more sense to me nowadays.
I remember reading a comment that said GUN probably didn't mistake Sonic with Shadow and instead purposefully blamed Sonic so that the Shadow Project and the Raid on the Ark was never discovered. Sonic was just a good scapegoat.

They even added his muscular upper body in the 3D model lol, kinda wish we got the one shown under it too so that we can have both of them and then the other two styles as different colour typed

Well the thing is, Sonic turned yellow and his spines changed form in front of the entirety of station square. I'm pretty sure it's not unreasonable for people to see Shadow, moving at the same speed as Sonic, and think "That's a new form of Sonic"

Actually, the name Terios a scrapped name.
That was a scrapped design.
And him being a tenrec was scrapped.
But there’s nothing specifying they are all exclusive associated with each other. But it’s easy to just put them together now that Shadow exists.
Also, I hate that people keep saying it makes more sense for that design to fit the plot than Shadow’s final design after fans literally thought Shadow was some dark Super Sonic or evil Sonic back in the day. LOL

They should make Terios his own character. I had this idea where he would be Eggmans ultimate creation. Inspired by his grandfather Eggman would try to create his own take on the ultimate lifeform. Hidden away in a secret facility deep in outer space somewhere, after years of constant failure to produce results, he would finally create succeed in creating Terios as a counter to Sonic and Shadow. I think it would be a cool idea
Could be buuuut it’d be another hedgehog character and we know how underutilized the other hedgehogs (Shadow, Silver and Amy) are. Then there would be the question of if he’d even stay loyal to Eggman or join the main group. I think it’s a good idea but it has to be done correctly and not just for the sake of adding in another hedgehog.
Or just make him like mysterious assasin/bounty hunter type that is neutral and only in it for the money
Personally I think that Terios was a prototype between the Biolizard and Shadow. I also imagine that he would have some sort of jealously against Shadow for meeting Maria instead of him.
So basically Seelkadoom from Sonic RPG? That’s a childhood core memory, the dude literally looked like Sonic and Shadow mixed.
@@AlmightyKing143 they have been slowly working at least Shadow and Amy in. Amy's now part of the main group and Shadow has his own "Bowser's Fury" kind of add on to a game.
But really before they make another hedgehog I'd like to see Silver get some more love first.

They mistook Shadow for Sonic because Shadow is black-colored and it is night time and there's only one hedgehog everyone knows of that moves really fast and has anything to do with Chaos Emeralds. Also everyone in Station Square saw that Sonic can transform in the fight against Chaos, so it's also fair to think that Shadow could be a new transformation for Sonic
There's also the possibility GUN spread fake news to distract attention away from them losing an agent of mass destruction, so they decided to pin it on Sonic. They knew Shadow was speed skating out in the wild.

I be honest, when I was small, my first time seeing Shadow was from a flyer that has the cover of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. My first instinct of seeing Shadow next to Sonic is 'evil Sonic?'
The confusion is techically still reasonable at the time since Shadow was still new during the early 2000s
It would make some sense with the military mistaken Shadow with Sonic especially in the dark but someone that knows Sonic like Amy should not make that mistake.

Immediately knew i was gonna pre-ordered this game when I seen this SA1 skin and then this just made me even more hyped 🔥
Funny that for many years Shadow's design was seen as the edgiest, but ooh man it could've been more.
Imagine Shadow's game but with that scar and wrist-cuffs.
I'm very happy they went with Shadows design because I don't think Terios would have been as iconic.
I like how they still kept the edgy look but with a different color pallet. (similar to another edgy character but from a different series and developer)
These different terios designs looks sick and I love it!
I always just assumed that everyone mistaking Shadow for Sonic was because GUN was trying to keep the ARK and the events 50 years ago a classified secret and let Sonic be the fall guy.

people say that terios looks more like sonic which makes how people mistake sonic and shadow make sense and i say it makes sense because "oh yeah theres more than one anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at the speed of sound" they saw THAT and said hey we know a anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at the speed of sound its sonic they didnt think there was another anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at the speed of sound thats not a common thing

Actually it does make sense for people to confuse sonic for shadow. Multiple eye witnesses saw sonic turn into super sonic in sonic adventure 1 and knew sonic was fast so its possible that this was "a new transformation", plus G.U.N wants to cover up everything so they blamed sonic. humans in the sonic universe almost if not ever see sonic, and if they do they will most likley see him in half a second run by. so given that context it makes perfect and logical sense as to why they thought sonic was shadow since the two look alike.

I have a cool idea for how Terios could be added to the series. After disappearing, Infinite, due to the uncontrollable Phantom Ruby, could accidentally take on a form similar to that of a hedgehog, resembling Shadow and Sonic, and this would be like his curse. He would travel to another dimension where the Phantom Ruby would send him, and possibly, he would go through a journey of redemption, becoming more of an antihero or even a hero.
P.S Both characters share the same scar

Yes, Terios looks like Sonic, with a big scar on one eye and spikes like Knuckles and Amy Rose! The final version of Shadow looks more like Sonic! It's only if you color them both black that you'll realize they're similar, especially if it's Super Sonic instead of Sonic. For me, saying that Terios is more like Sonic than Shadow is the same as saying that modern Amy Rose is more like Sonic than classic Amy Rose

The plot about Shadow being Sonic's dopplegänger was clearly meant for Terios. This plot point was left in the game and it doesn't make sense for Shadow, he looks absolutely nothing like Sonic
