時至今日已過了好多年，還不見有人回答網友疑問：「嘆伶仃」是在唱什麼的？老朽以出生高棉國“蕃仔”之潮州後裔，試試拋磚引玉幾句：此「嘆伶仃」首先乃是在歌頌南宋英雄文天祥。其次影射、、、、
詮釋：「國破山河在，文天祥展現了中華民族的脊樑風骨，士可殺不可辱，一片赤誠之心照青史。文天祥被元兵押送渡過的零丁洋，也就是今天的伶仃洋，山還是那些山，海還是那個海，夕陽還是那個夕陽。伶仃島還是孤伶伶的懸在海中心，伶仃島的這邊現在叫香港，島的對岸現在叫中山、珠海、澳門，文天祥那會並不這麼叫，他看到的是破碎的山河。」(長弓該亮)於千帆之都、白雲之鄉。
這句話的意思是滿朝文武官員都是貪官污吏，不做好事，只有他一個人，一個小官員伸張正義，孤苦無依的感歎。
