Not just that but the suit made him in constant agony but he ended up using that to strengthen his connection to the dark side. He even at one point took out an entire rebel army that had their guns trained on him
Luthor may have a mother box powering his suit but that alone’s not gonna be enough against a guy who’s defeated Galactus, Beyonder and the Silver Surfer.
It's still better than any of the last 3 episodes that were recently released. The real episodes 7, 8, and 9 was the Thrawn Trilogy, not this crap we got.

I find that Doom is far more interesting when he's the villain in the story, that way he has a hero to work off of. Besides, the fact that Doom is the antagonist who has far better intentions than the hero just makes him a better character, I feel like having him as the protagonist and/or main focus would kind of ruin that.

Yes. The only reason lex can go up against Superman is cause of Kryptonite. Even being able to take hits from Superman isn’t that impressive since Superman doesn’t even go close to full out because of his no kill rule.

Well it's more complicated than that. See ideally speaking Death Battle takes from the "general history" (for lack of a better term) of a character's feats. Originally, Dr. Doom wasn't as powerful as he was shown, but like his enemies the Fantastic Four he actually has grown in power and knowledge (which also contributed to Darth Vader's downfall, since his full potential has never been realized and is reflected in EU Grandmaster Luke, until the EU isn't canon anymore). Though that overpowered stuff can be argued to be subjective.
To be fair: Much of Vader’s power comes from the fear he generates. Yes, he has mastery over the Force and is a masterfully proficient fighter but look at both of his fights with Obi-Wan...who has zero fear of Vader and beat him twice despite (Remember he ALLOWED Vader to defeat him in order to galvanize Luke) being the lesser combatant. To Doom, Vader is a fly.
Vader was way more powerful than Obi-Wan by that point. Vader hasn't gotten less powerful with age like Obi-Wan has, and when Vader fought Obi-Wan the first time he was only a jedi knight, unlike Obi-Wan who was a jedi master.

This version of Galen was stated to be more powerful than the one who moved the Star Destroyer, so Vader's upper limits in legends are an unknown. Probably continent level, or low end planet/moon through extreme concentration. Which is a fair estimate, since a Sidious 5 years after endor had knowledge and power to decimate worlds with force storm (force breach wormholes). Vader was 80% that ROTJ Palpatine. Considering their powers are comparable, one could only imagine a Sidious surpassed Vader, despite his injuries. Sidious even believed Vader's injuries were not what was holding him back, more likely his mental instability.

Think about both of Doom's fights. With Vader, he chose a Doombot to fight first to gauge Vader's power. He didn't even bother with that fighting Lex Luthor, showing that he actually saw Vader as a more serious threat than Lex. Doom sends out bots when he isn't 100% confident of victory.
The MLG Avocado Vader must've focused all of his force on to withstanding Doctor Doom's most devastating attack that is Footdive. Then Doom killed him with less devastating attacks.

That's part of why I don't find him interesting, but you can't deny the truth of it. Superman is unstoppable.

DC and marvel both are full of completely overpowered characters, DC to a greater degree. Almost every major character has something they could use to beat any godlike character in both franchises.

Well, I agree with the outcome, but lets face it, Star Wars tries to keep Force abilities to a reasonable power scale that doesn't defy absolute believe-ability (usually). Marvel comics has no such repercussions or restrictions; they will amp the power levels of anyone to unbelievable heights because that is what they are known for: the fantastic powers and the fantasy of their worlds. Star Wars is the sci-fi and cares more about creating a scientifically unbelievable universe, filled with numerous worlds, creatures, sentient races and so on, mostly over the powers of some mystic mumbo-jumbo. In the end, funny enough, Star Wars tries to keep the believable powers of their universe more than Marvel ever would. Sure, it goes to some lengths to create a sense of wow and astonishment through the power of the Force on rare occasions but usually keeps it below the DC or Marvel comic levels of OP. No surprise Doom won in the end because that's just the world he lives in where limits are thinner than the Star Wars universe Vader is trapped in. Fun to watch, though, so I give this vid a 'like' through and through. Till next time!

A true unhyped sci-fi representation would involve something along the lines of Mass Effect with noone being truly powerful. Although i do agree marvel universe characters are greatly overpowered. This fight is very similar to Sam Fisher vs Solid snake fight. Same Fisher is in a more closer-to-reality world whereas Snake is part of a world filled with human clones made in the 70's, cyborg ninjas and advanced nanotech.
What I meant about creating a scientifically huge universe is that, while the Force is powerful, how much of an impact does it have visually in comparison to the amazing worlds, architecture, droids, starships, etc., that Star Wars is famous for. Yes, the Force has its place, no doubt, but when one thinks about the things of true destruction in Star Wars, they think about the Death Star, Star Destroyers and so on (Force Choking is cool, but blowing up a planet is on a whole other level). With Marvel, they think about Thor, Hulk or people of equally grand power as that. In the end, between Star Wars and Marvel, it's more a battle of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) and PMDs (People of Mass Destruction), respectively.
Mr. Scratch if you really dig into the comics, marvel has its fair share of WMD's. the Marvel universe is just too huge to compare it with the star wars universe(animated series and books included).

Well it's more complicated than that. See ideally speaking Death Battle takes from the "general history" (for lack of a better term) of a character's feats. Originally, Dr. Doom wasn't as powerful as he was shown, but like his enemies the Fantastic Four he actually has grown in power and knowledge (which also contributed to Darth Vader's downfall, since his full potential has never been realized and is reflected in EU Grandmaster Luke, until the EU isn't canon anymore).
Though that overpowered stuff can be argued to be subjective.
Michael Joesph Doom is just as powerful in the comics as he is in the video. This is a perfect showing of his character

To be fair: Much of Vader’s power comes from the fear he generates. Yes, he has mastery over the Force and is a masterfully proficient fighter but look at both of his fights with Obi-Wan...who has zero fear of Vader and beat him twice despite (Remember he ALLOWED Vader to defeat him in order to galvanize Luke) being the lesser combatant. To Doom, Vader is a fly.
While Obi-Wan did let Vader kill him, I don’t believe either was winning at the point. Besides, Vader in legends is miles above Vader in movies.
Vader was way more powerful than Obi-Wan by that point. Vader hasn't gotten less powerful with age like Obi-Wan has, and when Vader fought Obi-Wan the first time he was only a jedi knight, unlike Obi-Wan who was a jedi master.

Eh, I kinda didn't care for this, I LOVE Star Wars, but puting Darth Vader against Doctor Doom is like putting Black Widow against Wolverine. The scaling of comic book characters is insane, where Vader has been seen at his limits, comic books (in my opinion) sacrafice limits to make their favorite villains/heroes even more stupidly powerful. Vader being arguably the 2nd strongest Sith ever? Well too bad, Dr. Doom has magical mystical tech - ex machina! Don't get the wrong idea, Death Battle did the right thing, but the match-up was kinda doomed in my eyes from the start.

I love this show. I also love that Doom considered Vader a big enough threat to appear in person.
Think about both of Doom's fights. With Vader, he chose a Doombot to fight first to gauge Vader's power. He didn't even bother with that fighting Lex Luthor, showing that he actually saw Vader as a more serious threat than Lex. Doom sends out bots when he isn't 100% confident of victory.

keep in mind, Darth Vader was being crushed and boiled in lava at the same time, so it wasn’t just heat that was killing him. Also, when did Obi Wan Kenobi destroy a planet?
@@knightofarkronia8652 Well they scaled him to people who were able to maintain the structure of a dying planet and they said he could destroy some general robot's armor (I don't remember his name) bare handed even though this armor has resisted planet destroying attacks before.
They also somewhat scaled him to Anakin before he became Vador.
And they also based it on the fact that a Jedi was said to have been able to displace a micro black hole which according to Wikipedia would have about the mass of the Moon.
But they're also taking a lot of stuff from outside of the movies like comics and stuff.
This was using exclusively movie Vader, not that it matters because Doom wins anyway.

yeah I know but it could have been more accurate just like Ben 10 VS Green Lantern where Green Lantern would win anyway but everything was so poorly explained that most people doubt it.
Even if you scaled Vader to other EU characters, he would've still lost to Doom.
The Marquis of Death storyline alone would have given you the answer as to whom the winner would have been. Dr. Doom is OP AF! And I am here for all of it.

Doom keeps himself protected by many magical spells to prevent anything like that from hurting him, while his forcefield stops Vader's lightsaber attacks. Doom uses a few other magical spells, & Vader is defeated. Vader has faced Jedi & Mandalorians while Dr.Doom has faced off against gods, cosmic beings, & magical Deities. Doom dominates.

Dr. Doom is like Batman, he studies his opponent before engaging them, which he would of found some way to neutralize the microchloridians.
If doom wanted to conquer the star wars galaxy he'd simply invent a machine that would destroy hyperspace and kill the force and then offer his technology as the only alternative.
If you think about it, Star Wars takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far away so maybe instead of time travel doom just teleported them to earth

Well, I agree with the outcome, but lets face it, Star Wars tries to keep Force abilities to a reasonable power scale that doesn't defy absolute believe-ability (usually). Marvel comics has no such repercussions or restrictions; they will amp the power levels of anyone to unbelievable heights because that is what they are known for: the fantastic powers and the fantasy of their worlds. Star Wars is the sci-fi and cares more about creating a scientifically unbelievable universe, filled with numerous worlds, creatures, sentient races and so on, mostly over the powers of some mystic mumbo-jumbo.
In the end, funny enough, Star Wars tries to keep the believable powers of their universe more than Marvel ever would. Sure, it goes to some lengths to create a sense of wow and astonishment through the power of the Force on rare occasions but usually keeps it below the DC or Marvel comic levels of OP.
No surprise Doom won in the end because that's just the world he lives in where limits are thinner than the Star Wars universe Vader is trapped in. Fun to watch, though, so I give this vid a 'like' through and through.

A true unhyped sci-fi representation would involve something along the lines of Mass Effect with noone being truly powerful. Although i do agree marvel universe characters are greatly overpowered. This fight is very similar to Sam Fisher vs Solid snake fight. Same Fisher is in a more closer-to-reality world whereas Snake is part of a world filled with human clones made in the 70's, cyborg ninjas and advanced nanotech.
What I meant about creating a scientifically huge universe is that, while the Force is powerful, how much of an impact does it have visually in comparison to the amazing worlds, architecture, droids, starships, etc., that Star Wars is famous for. Yes, the Force has its place, no doubt, but when one thinks about the things of true destruction in Star Wars, they think about the Death Star, Star Destroyers and so on (Force Choking is cool, but blowing up a planet is on a whole other level). With Marvel, they think about Thor, Hulk or people of equally grand power as that.
In the end, between Star Wars and Marvel, it's more a battle of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) and PMDs (People of Mass Destruction), respectively.
Mr. Scratch if you really dig into the comics, marvel has its fair share of WMD's. the Marvel universe is just too huge to compare it with the star wars universe(animated series and books included).
