    Hey Buddy, This is the best video on bald cypress showing the full process. I only wish we had stock like this in Australia. I have been growing my own stock. This video has given so much information and expectations of what you can do to these in such a short time. Thanks for posting.

    Just started my first bald cypress, probably about 3 years old. Looking forward to developing it. Hopefully one day it will look like one of yours but much smaller. Thanks

    Wow! Great video!!! I bought a small pond cypress at a nursery. It’s about 2 feet and thin. I don’t want to plant it on my yard (working on another project there) but I need to repot her to a bigger pot. What soil do you recommend using? Can I add water in a tray to absorb the water? How much sun should a pond cypress get? Thanks!!

      If you were just growing out the plant you can planted in a bigger in potting soil .
      We do not grow our Cypress in water here at the nursery. We do grow them in the full sun. Hope this helps.

    I live in Florida too and was wondering how you would debug a slash pine. I found a rad curvey one hanging over a ditch and snagged it two days ago. I used some Raid bug spray on some spiders and little crawlers, but then got some mild organic pesticide. I know I can wait and see....but that bark is so thick that I can't tell what's going on. Also any slash pine bonsai (i know they aren't good for it, but it's what I got) tips would be super, ty!

    How do cypress grow in bonsai soil, in a bonsai pot when they need to stay pretty wet? My cypress are in plastic pots with a tray under to retain water keeping the soil comp swampy. I dont see any trays under your bonsai pots, so how do you retain that swampy composition?

      Thanks for the question! We never grow our cypress in trays of water. While some do this we do not. We water when soil is dry and they do great

    This could be a tutorial about the basic concepts of bonsai.....how does the trunk get so thick?.....how does it taper so naturally? ....What's the wire for?...Where is the tap root?

      Gecko, very common down in Florida. They are always on my bonsai. No harm done.

    Wondering if the cypress are prone to insect infestation......I lost a couple over the years....and was told it was a root mealy bug??? Erik....do you use a systemic with your cypress?

    • @wigertsbonsai
      @wigertsbonsai  4 года назад

      MrHeffries, Thanks for your question. Yes, if you are having that issue you can use Merritt as a systemic pesticide on the soil. Hope this helps. Best of luck!
