I work downtown Phoenix, the amazing thing is that there is NO traffic downtown. Unless there is a ball game or concert you have no trouble driving through downtown. Everyone works in Mesa, Gilbert, Chanler, Tempe, Scottsdale. Well done video.

Yea it’s definitely huge, I remember back when I first moved here I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the city. It’s actually larger than L.A in terms of square miles. 517>469. Great video as usual!

Raised in phoenix but I'm currently living in central California. I love the beach culture, especially surfing, but I miss Phoenix's familiar surroundings. I know the city, in and out, and am moving back in a few days. Thanks for posting the video. Cured my homesickness.

My daughter graduated from Central High School in 1985. It was a great school. I was a single parent from Michigan and had to find my way alone in Phoenix. It was great. In Napa, CA now, been here 5 years. CA will be devastated in the next coming years if another socialist gets elected. Moving back to Phoenix in 8 months, left in 1985. Just went back to visit, very clean, even in the older sections.

I love USA , best country imo! I learned all the states I checked almost all big cities in USA , I found Phoenix is probably my favorite : I love the desert and sun , dry hot , desert animals (yes snakes and scorpions) ,.. also I like how much space you have there it seems , also i like the population stats : it's big but not too big , the crime rate also is lower than Chicago or Houston , could be better but I guess you can't have everything perfect . I live in London and absolutely hate the weather , though we have unusually hot and sunny summer this 2018 year but I got no doubt from September it will all go to shit as usual ! well ..whatever traffic , density you may have there, it's still would be massively better than what London is . . Don't worry folks I won't invade your city anytime soon lol (for those who don't like migration) but I envy you , you r lucky people ! unless you grow up there and hate the heat lol ..funny: you maybe wishing of cold and rain place to live ..:)

Thanks for commenting. Yes, it seems a lot of people that are born here seem to hate the heat the most and long for cooler weather elsewhere. People like me that came from long and cold winters and moved here seem to welcome the hot summers a little more (or at least find them more tolerable than winter weather and snow). Lol

Here is some data I found on Wikipedia regarding the population of Phoenix. Maybe this will help your out-of-town subscribers:
Phoenix is the capital and most populous city in Arizona.
With 1,626,078 people (as of 2017), Phoenix is the *FIFTH largest city in the United States.*
Phoenix is the most populous state capital in the United States, and it is the only state capital with a population of more than one million residents.
    Phoenix is 517 square miles.
    (Wikipedia 2017)

yeah the metro area may be big but downtown Phoenix is very small and boring. You can walk around it in maximum 10 minutes, than you will bump into the same street youve been every 2 minutes. That gives me a concern about this city.

I can only speak from personal experience, but I can say I’ve never had any problems getting in or out of the airport.

FYI on the population rank, Phoenix overtook Philadelphia to become the fifth largest city in the United States. Houston is fourth largest.

No worries. Who knows; at the rate Phoenix and environs are growing, they should surpass Houston in 10 years. LOL

finchman1 I live in Houston not happening, Houston is far ahead and we are aiming at Chicago for 3rd in the nation which at this rate it will be happening in the next 5 years or so.

Phoenix also has the highest population of any State Capital in the U.S., so there's another fun little tidbit of info for you.
