What many people do not know is that Hovie Lister was also an ordained minister and a pastor! A great man of many talents...used them all for his Lord.
My favorite singers that are no longer with us are Rex Nelon, Stephen Hill, Jake Hess, Howard and Vestal Goodman, Hovie Lister, and George Younce
Today, I place this comment as a beacon of remembrance to the solemn, inspiring and heartfelt music that was rendered by these heroic old folks. I heard this song partially in Bill's tribute to Hovie but today I have heard it in its entirety.AMEN
Hovie always put his whole heart in the songs he sang. Am looking forward to meeting him, Jake the "Big Chief" and the rest of the great gospel singers that have gone ahead of us.
