Imagine paying a presumably large sum of money to see Tool play for a couple of hours, they're playing "The Grudge" right there in front of you... LIVE...(they aren't going to play it again that night) and you are walking around not watching.....
There is always the fan that is so excited for the show and bought 4 tickets for themselves and a few of their friends, trying to bring people into their world and experience something amazing, and those friends are often the people you see walking off to get beers, lol
I completely understand. I have been to so many concerts where people just walk up and down the aisles the whole time. It’s so hard to get floor tickets
I remember holding my breath before the scream, didn’t expect him to pull it off but he goes over chugs a good bit of water and at this point I’m like “oh shit he’s going for it” . They fucking brought it this tour
OH MY GOD YES and also he climaxes at buildup properly at 7:35 now too! For a few years he'd give a big scream at like 7:23 and it would feel a bit awkward haha
saw them 1st show in Denver after release of Fear Inoculum, it was my 11th tool show and it was the best one yet, saw them in salt lake city, 2022 and they're still on fire. If you're on the fence about going are don't want to spend the money, go, do it.. you won't regret it.
God watching Justin lose it and jam the fuck out always brings the biggest joyful smile to my face. One dude you can tell truly loves every minute of what he does.
no one's going to talk about how Danny literally nailed the final drum part. Like nailed. 100% accurate to the studio version. Everyone's focused on how a 60 year old dude can't scream for 26 seconds anymore.
I think the overall vibe over maynards voice is one of thanfulness. after two bouts of covid, he understands now that its ok to sing higher as your base voice position, and us tool fans know he lost his pipes at the very latest in 2009. hes sounded the best he has since 2006, arguably. More to the point, Danny has always been a titan and continues to be a marvel to besight.
I timed maynard's scream, it was 10 seconds. I sought this video for the sole purpose of timing the scream. The studio scream was 25 seconds, but that's hard to do outside of the studio with the prep and multiple tries.
And Maynard also did the scream here too! I thought it was gonna be just a one time thing, he must be very energised and confident with his vocal abilties to pull it off
@@nico_mezare he says YEEEEEAH. All the poetry of the song killed. This song is centered on the 27 seconds scream to represent the ascending of Saturn. 😭

Forget about Maynard not doing a 25 sec scream... How about the band killing, I mean KILLING it!!! This is amazing!!! if you watch them 100 times, you discover something great every time
Wow!!!! I honestly thought Tool would stick with “safe” songs on tour from now on (ones that don’t include the heavy/longer screams), but I am SUPER impressed. Obviously he didn’t hit that long scream 100% perfectly, but it was REALLY good for a 57-year-old Maynard. WOW! He must really take care of his vocal chords.
