Thank you so much for making this educational video. I did not know there are so many kinds. More, I did not even know I need to learn about this until my most recent air gun purchase --- Gamo Swarm Magnum air rifle.
This air rifle is the first time I ever know what "Dovetail rail" is(well, I actually have the Banjamin NP All Weather, as you showed in this video, way back in 2012, but it has permanently glued on picatinny rail, so I did not even know the difference). And by using the scope I want, not the included one, I further noted I need a stopper to stop the backward movement of my dovetail-to-picatinny mount during the shooting.
And also thank you so much on talking the 5th element, the horizontal scope stop. The new scope I purchased is made by Aipa and the way they design the base clamp is strange, two base screw, but only the front one can gets into the grove of picatinny rail, the rear one is way high up and canot touch the rail. But with your video, I guess that rear screw was actually designed for the horizontal stop usage.
    Thank you again.

I am new to air guns and just purchased a Gamo Raptor Whisper 22 cal. I have not received it yet. I have read mixed reviews on the included scope and would like to know what type of scope mounting system is on the air rifle and if the rifle uses a stop pin. If there is a reliable scope to use as a change-out.

If rings have pre installed pins will they work on the rifle even if it has holes?

I need a mount for a pellet carbine that kicks more than a 12 gauge. It has no provisions for a scope-stop, and it breaks scopes, so I'm going to mount a shock-proof red dot. Now, I'd use what's recommended in #5, but, I need something with a weaver rail on top, dovetail on the bottom.
    Any ideas?

MrGamehungry - You would want to use this for the Phantom, www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Beeman_5040_1_Pc_Mount_w_1_Rings_Medium_9_5_11_5mm_Dovetail/570?
