They're using r5 solar pearl which gives 40% dmg bonus to all relevant sources + has a lowish base atk. So 2pc 2pc atk is probably better than 2pc atk 2pc geo with this build
For herald elemental shields they're essentially just beefed up versions of abyss mages shields, all you gotta do is apply an element that reacts with their shield and tons of it. Most chars have ICDs that prevent them from applying their respective elements too much, for neuv's case he does have an ICD which is why to circumvent this they used Furina and Charlotte to drain the shield faster. Honestly if it wasn't a pyro herald Xiangling would've mopped them since her skill and burst dont have an ICD meaning it applies pyro every hit

in case you didnt know, ICD is essentially just a timegate for when your characters can apply their elements again on the enemy

You could do Noelle, or another geo support. You'll have to dodge more, but the team should still be usable

That's not a good team. Ningguang have no synergy with g- traveler. It will be difficult to keep her geo sheild.
C6 gorou instead of geo traveler would be much better
