as you can tell from the vid i'm still getting use to the controls as i'm use to madden/ncaa. had to cut it short due to youtube 10mins thing.
i like how they play the hype music on kickoff then when you get hit the shit just stops

The camera angle of this game sucks
It is a very imposing challenge trying to compete with Madden. Backbreaker might not be the greatest, but it does have some things working in it's favor. The game engine is excellent, about as realistic as it gets. It's also a nice change of pace from Madden, a different feel.

Just bought this for PS3 and honestly I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I'm not a big fan of the control scheme, or the camera angles, but man is it fun to play, and every tackle looks so fresh and unique. I spend so much time watching replays lol

@PVK112 At least they implemented 3D grass long before Madden and NCAA and actually implemented fucking tackling physics. I'll take that before rendered faces ANY DAY.

@12WaterPhoenix12 kickers definitely have some leg, was surprised I hit that 62 yarder. the accuracy thing is a bit hard since unlike madden it constantly moves even while you're filling the power meter so if there is a good amount of wind you could hook it easily.

This game is amazing!! Once you get used to the controls its a lot of fun. It actually takes some time to get used unlike in madden where anybody can pick up the game and win on all madden.

lol i never said this or any game doesnt have flaws. im sure kim kardashian has a couple flaws, but it doesnt make her worst looking than the average girl on the street. maddens average and they took close to ten years just to reach average. this games physics engine is obviously better than maddens regardless of whatever flaw you try to point out. facts are facts. no one buys madden cuz its the best option, we buy it cuz its the only option for american football fans.
honestly i dont there ever gonna perfect it. pretty soon ps4 and xbox 720 is gonna come out, then there just gonna strip there games down like they did before, and say some lame excuse like they had. then there gonna take over 10 years to go from piss poor to decent all over again. this what happens when you have no competition to make you when shell out some cash to make your product better. cant say i blame em though. i wouldve done the same exact thing.
Yea..I agree. There's nothing special about this game. I find the game to be very boring as well. No commentary and just nothing exciting going on. Also, the weather has no effect or impact in the game. It's pointless. You can't even tell when it's raining if it's at night. Just horrible! I almost feel like I'm watching the game more than I am actually playing it at times.This game feels like it should be more of a downloadable game rather than a game bought from the store.

@ANHEROseven if this video made u wanna break your monitor i recommend you taking anger management classes like Dr. Joe's Online Anger Management Class. He did not make the video to display his skill he made the video to show people the game and im glad he did i dont care how hes playin im interested in seeing the gameplay
its not about forcing anything into retirement. we need madden and we need 2k otherwise both companies would get lazy and shell out the same game for years. lol ive seen the madden demos, and quite frankly nothings changed, so the infinity engine is def not better than euphoria.
The Infinity Engine sucks right now, it looks exactly like the physics engine from the NHL series, which is super flawed. If you played APF 2K8 you would know that 2K football has 10x better gameplay than madden. The only thing they would have to catch up on is all the modes madden has to offer
Nope. The new Madden team is on point. If 2k got back into the game, they wouldn't be forcing anything into retirement.The Infinity Engine is in its first installment. It'll only get much better from here on out. It already looks superior to the Euphoria engine in terms of simulating football.
If a 2K football game would be released with more of a cleaned up Euphoria engine blended with animations, Madden will be fucking forced into RETIREMENT... True words right there... Watch guys, soon enough we will have something that replicates the real thing on consoles...
@KingSanders1 So i'm assuming you're one of those people that waited in line to get madden 11 which by the way is worse than 10. I like backbreaker's physics better but that's pretty much it. Anyways I would play madden over backbreaker only because backbreaker still needs more features
@royal44100 I haven't had any major gripes about Madden the last 2 years besides the fact the physics engine sucks but i've come to accept it as lame as that sounds. but to each it's own, BB is a good game and had they not included tackle alley in the demo I might have still bought it (Don't judge me!)
@chamaign10 Dude, why be angry at the gamers? Why shouldn't we chastise companies that make shitty games and then put a $60 price tag on them?? Just because most of us don't know how to make games (which no one person does, it's collaboration of numerous people and talent) doesn't mean we don't have the right to offer our opinion, which in most cases companies listen to die to the hurt of their wallets.
@flonga1 uh, no it won't. sad to say, but as long as EA holds the lone right to professional football games, people will continue to buy that crappy madden game with bad graphics and poor design for $60 every year. oh how i wish madden were better.
LOL @ everyone saying that this game is shit... Truth be told, it has some lacking points, but hey, every game has some... Overall, it is a good game (which this video proves) and it is a fresh change from the already boring Madden titles.
@2WIREG seems to be the majority. I canceled my pre order after playing the demo. loved the game engine but I could see it getting old fast. if they add more camera options make the player models a little less cyborg looking i'd definitely pick up BB2. the rest of the problems can be fixed with a patch.
Agreed that the Infinity Engine is an improvement over past Madden games, but take a look at NBA 2K12 and imagine that level of quality for animations in a football game. It would absolutely blow Madden out of the water. EA has been lazy and clearly spends too much time/money on marketing instead of development.
I dont get it, why doesn't EA hire on NaturalMotion as a Tech Dev for Madden 11, then we can have the best of both worlds. Great game modes, an amazing physics engine, real teams, better online, better graphics, etc.
LOL I like how you can tell who plays Madden. You're holding onto the right trigger as if you think it makes you run faster, when really it's just "aggressive mode".

yeah you can, the physics are blatantly better than maddens. maddens decent, but if this game had a license or 2k had a license, football games would be great.

i agree 100%, they relied too much on the engine alone. When you judge this as a football game, it fails. Give the engine to 2k please!
the problem with NFL is its soo freaking complicated. If i could figure out the rules and different plays n sh*t it might be a pretty cool game.

Same camera position and angles like on Madden...only difference I'm seeing is the like tunnel vision and like shadows in the 3rd person camera ...other than that it's looks like I'm in the game on Madden or this game.

This game is not competition with madden. Its competition with that blitz game and that game was a great football game.
Madden 13 has the infinity engine now which is real time physics but i dont think it will perfected until madden 14.
such a shame they didnt do a backbreaker 2. The core elements in this game are far in advanced of madden 20 ten years later. They just needed to tweak the gameplay and camera options a bit. The europhoria engine is exactly the way to go for a sports game involving contact. Madden 20 animations are so out dated, the enginne they used hasnt changed in 15 years, the players dont react like football players which in 2020 is unacceptable.
