The ending is actually a bit more wholesome since toji didn’t have full control over his body and was just attacking anyone but killed himself so he wouldn’t kill megumi
Aw, that is nice that Toji has some redeeming qualities. We do find CJ's interpretation entertaining tho lol

The remembering Megumi in weird moments actually has sens. Basically he couldn't kill Geto becouse of Geto's cursed technic so Toji told him that it's a blessing for Geto. And Magumi's name means blessing so he remembered his son. Still took him a while. Also peak comedy was Megumi fighting his dad then watching him stab through his own head and beeing like 'WTF? Who even was that?'.
Of course a lot of this was for comedic stuff . Toji may be a deadbeat father but he still cared about his son . In a world of sorcerers who have cursed energy and cursed technique , Toji was born in a clan of curse users with zero curse energy due to which he was hated in his clan and he hated them back . Later when he got Megumi , his wife sadly passed away and now him having zero cursed energy and his son having a really strong cursed energy he realized he would be of no help to his son and being in depression he sold his son to the same clan thinking even though Toji was hated in his clan , at least Megumi has strong powers so he will be trained good and grow happily with money and all .
Years later he just became too down bad until he faced off against Gojo . Now Gojo may feel like a good guy but he also likes to face off against strong people . Toji being his life's first strong opponent and still facing him even though knowing Gojo is too op made Gojo have a respect for Toji . Gojo asked Toji if he has any final request out of respect and this is when Toji remembered fully about his son and realized even though Megumi may have a good life in that clan he would still turn bad because the clan is a bad place for his growth because they are a bunch of sexist and trash people . Toji's final words to Gojo were "The Zenin clan is gonna come for my son in [I think] 4 years do what you can about that" . After this Gojo went to see Megumi who obviously for his own reasons didn't care about his father at all . Gojo took Megumi under him from here so that the Zenin clan won't try to take him .
Years later Toji was revived but he wasn't in his full senses as in his mind he was only "going for the strongest" in the room . At that moment he followed Megumi into the Domain but there his senses changed his target to Dagon the octopus looking one and destroyed him . THen immediately his target switched back to his son . While fighting Megumi he for a moment finally came to his senses and finally realized it was his son he was facing and he immediately asked what his name was . Megumi said "Fushiguro Megumi" . He smiled finding out that Megumi still had his mother's name meaning he didn't joined the Zenin clan . He stabbed himself because he would lose control again and kill his son . This was really amazing final moment for him which showed in just mere moments that he despite being a deadbeat still cared about his son . Its funny and sad that even to this day Megumi doesn't know who the guy was who started attacking him out of know where .

Megumi is a girl's name.
So Toji gave his son a girl's name then forgot it.
If I remember correctly the name Megumi means blessing and Toji considered him a blessing to his life. Hence why he named him that.

The grandma brought back toji when he was at his strongest. When he first fought gojo he was not at his strongest. Also the reason he did not exterminate little gojo is because of his wife and kid at the time. He was essentially on break at the time and had no interest him.

And yes for you ladies in the comments section that if toji was real you could sleep with. Him because it is Canon he was a gigolo and he has a bunch of Sugar Mama's giving him money. And also the reason why he sold his son is because he basically has no cursed energy. Meaning he has no curse technique and his family is so misogynistic and brutal. That they threw him into a pit full of cursed spirits to try to kill him but he obviously survived.
