Love the Cortina. Here in Australia we put straight 6 cylinder engines in these.

Bought an Allegro 1750 for £8 in about 1982 (got 85mph from it!) - ran it for six months and then no surprise, the front N/S suspension collapsed! Shame about the inherent BL design fault - Maxis, Marinas, etc all suffered from this ailment.
I really enjoyed seeing the Austin Big Seven . Such a beautiful classic . I really appreciate the time and effort you both put in to provide us with such entertaining viewing. Thank you.

i had a new a Suzuki AP 50 when was sixteen in 1976 it was only five pounds more than than the FS1E at 245 pounds but had 5 five gears and a locking petrol cap which swung it for me but you got to love the purple paint on the FS1E
Lovely slick presentation Claire , love the Austin Big Seven , the ' Forlite ' is the rarest version , hence the price .

Thank you so much, poor Elton had (still has) a bad back so I had to take the lead on this one. With any luck Elton will be recovered enough next week for us to get in the workshop and carry on with the A30’s 👍

I had an early 1.3 Allegro as a Winter runaround in the late 80's, they were ok, i never had any issues with it
Me born 1968 in Germany haven’t seen too many Allegros either, but I liked the style..
Before there were Golfs and frontwheel driven Escorts and Kadetts this was quite an upheaval to drive a modern compact car like Alfasud or Fiat 127 before 1975…Only Renault 4 and 6 models were quite common in Germany..
Nice to see another Chevette getting saved and nice colour, the Mk3 Cortina is a lovely looking car with the coke bottle shape...I really like the 1100, nearly bought a 3 door before a purchased my Chevette Oddy...and my first car was an Allegro, although not one here 😉...really enjoyed this one guys...😀

You are blessed to find a nearly rust free Kabett C Coupe from the late 1976-1979years maybe a Luxus or Berlina Version this was the highest comfort version
Entertaining as ever, and seeing an Austin 1100 in Connaught green took me right back to my first ever car in 1974. I only got £45 for that a year later......

Another great video Claire & Elton. It was great to see you both at the sale. I'm still lusting after that Escort RS2000 though, lol. I personally like the colour Cordoba Beige as it's different and rare on an RS2000. That car is now up for sale on eBay through a dealer in Bournemouth at £35k! I love how you talked about The Professionals connection as im a massive fan of it. In regards to the Ford dealer Allen of Romford they're still going as a Ford dealer but are called Allen Ford now. My new boss worked there in his early career in the mid to late 70s. He also worked at Fords press car depot in Brentford and even test drove the RS2000 used in The Professionals in-between the film company using it. 😁👍

An enjoyable video, as always, thanks for this. I was fascinated by the variety of different models and the prices fetched. As the owner of a 'Sixlite' (four door) version of the Austin Big Seven, I particularly enjoyed seeing the lovely-looking Forlite. Well done too for including some interesting details about each of the models covered.

I like the Yamaha Fse Claire. I used to have a Yamaha Rxs100 as my first bike. I was a cool starter bike.
They are great bikes, what colour did you have?
@@UKBarnFinds mine was a metallic cherry red, 1987 d reg. I replaced the seat as it was broken and the front mudguard. Spent hours polishing the chrome. Funniest thing was it had a top box, as I was riding past the local police station it snapped and flew off but luckily didn't hit anything.
Ahh…..great colour. Fancy the top box flying off outside the police station 😂
Was great, some interesting prices, the A90 wasa cheapie, but deep pockets to fix or a parts car perhaps 👍
Another great content video, Claire you done so good with your commentary of each vehicle, had Elton not been so comfortable in the Rolls you may have been able to talk him into buying you the Chevette.

Spotted a rather nice Rover P5 3 Litre coupe, I wonder what that went for!
Just had a look on their website, the coupe went for £17, 280 including fees.

For once, I disagree with you Clare. I think the Vauxhall Chevette and the Austin 1100 would have been my personal choices. I have no time for the Ford range (even though I lived in Dagenham for a while) - never owned one and never want to!
