Female, 44 years old. I prefer the one on the right side. Feels, like the building and the tree have more character & weight… more confidence to stand strong! Thank you for another wonderful video, Titus! 😊❤
Old female here. I still watch you constantly. With this picture, I'd have to say the first one I like better because I love that part of the tree is missing from such strong light and I like the people as well. You work with elegance and simplicity, I can't wait for the next one. Thank you for what you do. ❤❤❤
Nice explanations of your process I like both but I think I like the second one a little better I probably said this before, but I find your generosity of sharing information refreshing in the art
Female - Usually I love dark/darker parts in paintings, high-contrast-pictures, BUT I would coose the 1st one. You captured the soul of this part of the town so real in this 1st painting. The "reproduction" of the atmosphere is here even more magical. The tree-shape and the light through it, the shapes and the colour in the shadows in the lower part under the tree, and these blue reflexions in the windows/the part of the building, that ist further away, also these light-blue reflexions, these free brushstrokes - wonderful... I was last week in this beautiful town, with my daughter, she lives in Den Haag 😊 Lovely greetings from Hungaria/Germany
In fact I can see much less color variation on the newer painting but the substance of light realy speaks out and the light is more reflected in values throughout the whole work - so, surely the new one. Other thing is how the process influences itself and how this can be included in a plan. I try to have a vision and this triggers every new painting. Then , in the process, I loose the vision sometimes because my painting starts to live it's own life and says unexpected things. This gives me new ideas for more paintings and the prime idea stays alive just a bit more matured. But I'm not a professional painter and have limited time to do the arts. I love your work and enjoy your videos every time, so BIG thank you !
I prefer your first painting Titus. I love the building in he second one but my overall preference is the first with all that beautiful light. Chris 70+
Interesting your painting steps and the process that gives an incredible result with excellence, thanksyou very much for sharing your brilliant Works of emotion of Watercolors ,I loved it so much, Champion 🥰🥇🙌🏆👍🤳😍❤️🙏
Great video.... I prefer the second one Titus. And I'm female 😊 I thought I preferred the first one initially but after more time I thought all the highlights in the building were more distracting. So the right one looks more warm and understated and strong. Hope that helps!
Female. Both are excellent. But I like the first one so much. I like the atmosphere and how the light hit the tree then cascading lower . I like the shadows and crispiness. I watch all your you tube videos. I am mainly an oil painter but i learn a lot from your insights as much as you painting process. I also love your beautiful country. Thank you for sharing those beautiful scenery and Thank you very much . From Australia.
First. I am, male, 67 age (this Wednesday), I was an architect, now I’m a stroke survivor (with mild aphasia) for nine years and I am sketching and oil painting. I love your watercolor work…!
I love the way you allowed the colors to separate or granulate in the lighter areas in the second one. It really allows the light to come through and only just suggests the shapes in the distance. It makes me feel like I am sitting on bench in front of the scene. They are both beautiful, but I can see how you worked differently in the second one. I suspect you left the first wash alone more in the second one and used a much lighter touch. But, I will say that i love the way the lines of the drawing are visible in the first one. It adds a lovely layered touch to the first one, and i love being able to see the drawing beneath the paint. If it were my choice, I would be tempted to hang them side by side, ha. I am a 46 year old woman.
All roads lead to Rome or Amsterdam. I prefer the first version. The contrasts are interesting. There is more light. Thanks for sharing. It is always interesting to see the creative process of another painter.
Good Evening Titus, both are excellent paintings, however I prefer the warmer tones of the sun in the painting on the right. Male 65 and greetings from Lincolnshire UK.
Woman and I like the bright light in the first painting, but also the hint of warmth you added to the second painting. Overall, I like the first one because of that light. Both are beautiful and your explanation was insightful. I plan how I am going to work before I start and find as I'm working that I see more. On a watercolor that is a bit challenging to adjust for the reasons you mention. Acrylic is almost as adjustable as graphite drawings (I love to do them but want color). Another consideration is focused attention. At some point I am not seeing anymore, then I have to walk away. Come back and I see many things I missed before, if that makes sense. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Hi Titus, thanks for this video. I'm a man and I think that I prefer the first one (on the left). The building in the foreground seems to be less "clean", but I like the "lightness" of the colors, on the windows. The sun seems to be more bright and the mood is more joyfull to me. I also like that the brightness of the sun hide a part of the tree. The second one is great, but the mood is more "heavy" maybe due to the darker shade of the foreground and the yellow color of the sun! I like the blue touch in the background of the street, in this second painting. It makes a "link" with the guy's dark blue pants in the foreground.
Female, I choose the one on the right, the second painting . I prefer the mood of the second one and I like the warmer light also. Thank you Titus for another wonderful insightful session. 🥰👍🏻
Woman, preferring the first, lighter painting (left). To me it has more energy and life and feels inviting. The second one is equally beautiful and skillfully made, but the house is somehow "closed" for the viewer, and heavily grounded. I don't feel welcome to enter that painting. I can't explain why :) I really appreciate your philosophic approach, describing the mental painting process more than the manual painting technique.
Donna.
Hello Titus, I am male ( I'm not sure why male or female makes a difference 😂) but I choose the left. I love the way the light bursts through the tree.
Female, 68. Landscape painter in oil. I prefer the one on the right because there’s more depth; it invites you in. The shape of the tree troubles me, though. The shape of the tree in your first painting is better in the composition. Love these videos, always. Thank you!
I am male, Titus, and an artist myself who paints his 'experience' or what I think you are referring to when you mention 'how I see it'. Given that, I prefer the first painting because it better approximates my experiencing my shock at first having to look into the sun. If I were the client, I would be accustomed to the light and the structures which I would largely take for granted. But, I could never be accustomed to the brightness of the sun especially when 'coming home' which involves having a different feeling than what happens when I am remembering 'There. That was where I lived.'
I'm a 56 year old male. Both are exceptional paintings, but if it was my choice I'd pick the second painting you did (the right hand side) as I prefer the warmer, more vibrant colours. Amazing video, thanks for sharing.
The piece on the left is my favorite. Crisp. It’s how I usually favor my paintings. Dark and shadow gets out of my comfort zone when painting watercolors.
Hi, male here. OK so I like the picture on the left better. But there’s a lot of nuance to discuss. First off I think the tree and sky on the left look a lot more interesting and fresh. I like the transparency of the windows, I guess it’s the contrast, in the building on the left. It’s a little more animated. it just seems to me with all that backlight there wouldn’t be all that much color so the one on the right seems like too much chroma. However, the ground floor on the right looks more convincing, probably as it is darker. I should like to say it’s pretty cool that they’re almost the same exact composition. You were able to draw it almost exactly the same the second time!
I like the one on the left. The reflections in the windows, the depth looking down the side of the building, and the sunlight on the building as well as the blues on the frontside. The not so whole tree is a fascinating focus. Just this male’s point of view.
Male the one on the left, the first one you did. But they're both great Titus. Also worth mentioning its difficult viewing and choosing via a screen. Take care, John
🙂Top hoor! Wat een mooi schilderij.👌
I am female. I prefer the second painting. I like the light coming though the tree branches. I would have liked to see your process for doing this second painting. Thank you for talking to us.
Female 70 - love them both but if I were to purchase one I would go for the first one, prefer the dimension of the building. I just love everything you paint. Thank you
I like the one on the left side, I see it more spontaneous, the tree it looks more natural but the sky dont get the right color tone degradation. The one on the right side it looks for me more " rational" , but the sky has a better result, in this case the color degradation is much better. Greetings from Quilpue, Chile

the first is as you said more crispy and more day impression. the second is more evening impression and a little bit less crispy. i like the first more because it is something different as your paintings I know. it is more undone. the only think that could be a tiny bit more developed is the blue sky on the right side of the first painting. female
(Woman) The first one! And times are changing... it is fine to admit men and women are different. Honesty and common sense are making a comeback. My experience is that men lean toward clarity in art, and with women, it is reaction.
My wife and I both like the second one on the right. I myself lean towards warmth and more color. I found the first painting didn’t have a strong enough mood or light doing its job as the spokesman. I also felt that a darker shadow side of the building might have made a little difference to my eye. Could you have glazed more color and warmth into the light source in painting #1? Male, second, like the smaller sun coming through the tree and the sky colours. Daughter(adult) likes the second also, she also liked the blue rim on the background buildings. I do miss the colours along the bldg right hand side, though.

Female. Although looks a bit unfinished I prefer the 1st painting on the left side, but my 20 year old son likes the second painting on the right better.
Female, I like the second one. The light in the first one, at least online, looks washed out. The second painting, though darker, is also brighter due to the color in the light.
Female, 44 years old. I prefer the one on the right side. Feels, like the building and the tree have more character & weight… more confidence to stand strong! Thank you for another wonderful video, Titus! 😊❤

Woman, the first painting touches me emotionally--the light through the tree and reflecting off the building gives me a sense of joy.

I enjoy your videos, maybe the best I've watched on u-tube, thank you for doing them. The one on the right.
It’s magical, watching you paint. I really like that big, bold, moppy brush you use in the beginning.
First painting / female. It is hard to pick, I love all your paintings. 😊 Thank you
Woman and I like the bright light in the first painting, but also the hint of warmth you added to the second painting. Overall, I like the first one because of that light. Titus, an old guy here. A difficult decision for sure! I like both but more contrast on the left so I pick the first one.
A fan from America
Hello Titus,
As always, I enjoyed both your videos this week. I prefer the one on the right. I am a 76 year-old male.
Regards,
Mike
I'm male and prefer the first one! I like the way the light is captured in a very subtle but effective way.
Donna.
I prefer the one on the left with more light through the tree and different contrasts on the building. Enjoying this video!
I am a female 72 years old and an art teacher.
Hello Titus, I am male ( I'm not sure why male or female makes a difference 😂) but I choose the left. I love the way the light bursts through the tree.

I am 73 year old male. I think the first one, it has more of a looseness to it and better play on light. Both superb paintings. 👍
Hi, I like the second one the most . ( male ) ........ greetings from Hungary
Male, 62, prefer the one on the right. More defined building and bluer sky, plus the building seems unfinished on #1. Great job as usual.
Hi Titus, I’d choose the one on the left, I love the light appearing through the tree more than the one on the right. 😊
I am male, Titus, and an artist myself who paints his 'experience' or what I think you are referring to when you mention 'how I see it'. As female i choose the first one. More feelings and emotions. More strong connection with the subject. Thanks
I'm a 56 year old male. Both are exceptional paintings, but if it was my choice I'd pick the second painting you did (the right hand side) as I prefer the warmer, more vibrant colours. Amazing video, thanks for sharing.
Hi, I’m Charlotte from Norway. Woman. I prefer the first painting you painted. The one to the left, when facing the paintings.
Man. I like the darker painting. On the right.
The light hits better on the left one, the architectural elements more solid on the second one. Better sell both, to save their marriage ))
The piece on the left is my favorite. Crisp. It’s how I usually favor my paintings. Dark and shadow gets out of my comfort zone when painting watercolors.
I prefer the 1st (left side) painting, lighter colors, more light, Mature Man 😀
Hello from Romania! 🇹🇩
The one on the right. (female) thanks for video
Hi, male here. OK so I like the picture on the left better. But there’s a lot of nuance to discuss. First off I think the tree and sky on the left look a lot more interesting and fresh. Male the one on the left, the first one you did.
But they're both great Titus. Also worth mentioning its difficult viewing and choosing via a screen. Take care, John
Man, first, impression of the light on tree and houses is great
I choose the first one 🥰
Hi Titus im a man i prefer the first one thanks for your videos
I am female and prefer the second one
My male partner prefers the second one as well. But we love them both. 👏❤️
I absolutely prefer the second one. It has a better contrast to me, and is “richer” tonally. I…. am a man 👍🏻
Female, here. I prefer the 1st painting on the left. The light imparts its presence, reminding me that we are not alone.
Female one on the right as I like the darker finish at road level. Interesting research.
I'm a lady and I would choose the 1st one 😊
Second painting seems to be more warm and inviting to the eye.
Thank you
Good idea to ask very fun to see what you conclude. I am female I think the “crispy “ one you first did is just right.
The right one (male). Warmer light
Female, I like the first beter because of the shape of the tree.
I like the one on the left side, I see it more spontaneous, the tree it looks more natural but the sky dont get the right color tone degradation.
The one on the right side it looks for me more " rational" , but the sky has a better result, in this case the color degradation is much better.
Greetings from Quilpue, Chile
I like the first one (female). There's more light in the building windows and more light on the sidewalk. The building in the second one is darker. At first I didn't like the lack of detail where the sun hits the tree in the first one, but I like it better than the second version.
Hi Titus, I am male. I think the left version is the best for me. The light floats over the image from left to right. The high contrast in the facade details could be a bit less.
Nice episode by the way.
Kind regards.
I like the first one more,it looks spontaneous, less layered, more realistic and instantly appealing, that’s a guys view.
I prefer the first painting of the two in “How I Plan My Paintings “. Male viewer, Thad Austin, San Francisco, USA.
the first is as you said more crispy and more day impression. the second is more evening impression and a little bit less crispy. i like the first more because it is something different as your paintings I know. it is more undone. the only think that could be a tiny bit more developed is the blue sky on the right side of the first painting. female
(Woman) The first one! And times are changing... it is fine to admit men and women are different. Honesty and common sense are making a comeback. My experience is that men lean toward clarity in art, and with women, it is reaction.
Female and I choose the second painter (liked the contrast light/dark)
My wife and I both like the second one on the right. I myself lean towards warmth and more color. I found the first painting didn’t have a strong enough mood or light doing its job as the spokesman. I also felt that a darker shadow side of the building might have made a little difference to my eye. Could you have glazed more color and warmth into the light source in painting #1? Number 2 is my pick for your curiosity. Cheers
hello from Russia!
Male, second, like the smaller sun coming through the tree and the sky colours. Daughter(adult) likes the second also, she also liked the blue rim on the background buildings. I do miss the colours along the bldg right hand side, though.
Both beautiful renditions! However, I think I prefer the light and shadows in the left/first one. (Male, 45)
I prefer the one of the left because of the light effect on the tree and how it goes over the full area. But both paints are very nice (male 55)
Male, 73 years old I like the one on the right because it feels warmer.
I am a man, 71 years old, Hobby Watercolor Painter for 12 Years. I prefer the second Painting, the right one. The Kontrasts are a little bit softer.
The first one, on the left has less layer and more transparent which i like more in watercolor. I feel the light more here.
The first one for the loose brushstrokes, the second one for the warmer light ... I can’t choose . That’s my female choice. 😂
Female 60 yo left painting, the cooler one
I’m a female and like the painting on the right ( the second painting ) best.
I'm a man, I choose the first option, although both are good
I prefer the first.
Man, both of them showing extremely great artworks, however I thing the first one shows the effect of light flow around foreground, mid ground and background, coming and penetrated the shapes smoothly, that had created a deferential of spaces around each shapes at the left side of the seen, that led to push the eyes towerd the shade of the right side of the seen, which I thing made the whole playing an orxestra and unity...
I like them both but having to choose I like the second one more. I like the richer values and colors. Female👧
The one on the right! I'm a man last time I checked :)
Man, painter, second piece
Woman age 74, I prefer the 1st one on the left because you can see more detail and filtered light.
The tree in the first one is more appealing, yet overall the second one has more character to me. Male, 69.
I prefer the more colorful light on the right! I am a manly man and among many things, an amateur artist of 60 years!
Ik vind de eerste het beste. Het gebouw staat schever in de tweede. De kleuren vind ik ook meer aanspreken. 😁47 jarige vrouw hier. 😜
Female. I choose the painting on the right. Good question. I am so interested in what your results are.
Female. The 2nd. The building has more character, it "Speaks" more - of all it's history, inside history, people and of lives lived there.
First is like a summer morning. Second is more like autumn-winter afternoon.
Female. Although looks a bit unfinished I prefer the 1st painting on the left side, but my 20 year old son likes the second painting on the right better.
Im gonna be a pain and say I love the left hand tree but prefere the right hand building. If I had to choose I would say the right hand one.
Female, I like the second one. The light in the first one, at least online, looks washed out. The second painting, though darker, is also brighter due to the color in the light.
Male 50, I prefer the first one.
Female here. I like the 1st one better. It feels “fresher” to me.
