As a woman who is 31 weeks pregnant… the whole process of being pregnant for 40 weeks, then giving birth is so traumatic on the body. It’s terrifying! The misogyny coming from that guy is gross.

Maternal mortality rate in the US is 23.8 per 100,000. That's 73 people in my city per year. Most of those are literally from bleeding to death or dying of infection AFTER THEY LEAVE THE HOSPITAL. There's hard evidence that our maternal mortality rate is so high because of how dismissive doctors and partners are of their pain and concerns. That's not including all the people who have ectopic pregnancies or violent miscarriages. You can literally get PTSD just from giving birth. It's terrifying and traumatic and horrifically painful. You have to be extremely strong or extremely fucking stupid to go through that willingly.

That's so sad. The American Healthcare system is so messed up because you know they'd charge you for the end of life care for the woman too.

So if my hubs suggested an open relationship, even if no guys were texting me, I'd get dressed up every night and go out and have friends text me under man names and pretend I'm getting it every night too😂😂 half the time she's probably not even seeing anyone but giving him a taste of his own medicine😂

Giving birth is so scary. As someone who has a very traumatic birth story, it’s horrible, it feels a little humiliating. Every time I hear a story with some idiot talking about how birth isn’t scary, I thank the universe for my partner. He advocated for me and made my needs a priority every time. He was the best support and made me feel better about it. 10/10 man

They're only talking about the person carrying. Having a child is also about having to worry and ensure the child coming out of you is safe and healthy without consequences. You can't compare it to just "imaging pushing out this huge thing out of you" because in this example you don't have to care what this thing goes through or how it's affected long term. The heartache and managing to keep this thing coming out of you ALSO healthy while you need yourself to be healthy and ease your own pain is why this is a huge deal and needs to be put in perspective.

I had HG when I was pregnant had to get iv infusions 3x a week for 25 weeks to keep myself and my son alive then almost died 3 times postpartum from a fucking womb infection my doctor didn’t take seriously and kept sending me home with nothing for🤡 also had a 3rd and 2nd degree tear that required 13 stitches all together all while I had to take care of my son on my own after the first week because ya know America paternity leave isn’t a thing most of the time and my husband had to go back to work… I couldn’t imagine going thru all of that only for my husband to speak to me and about me this way😢 OP deserves BETTER birthing people are fucking strong as shit no matter how the birth happens you either pushed a human out or had one cut out medicated or not that shit is scary and anyone who has done it or is a going to BRAVE AS FUCK

Feel the need to preface my husband did help SO MUCH but had to return to work one week after I had my son so when I say I had to do it alone I’m referring to the 9 hours he was gone for work not 24/7🤡 he’s a dad not a babysitter😂😂😂😂😂

2nd story about not telling the parents about engagement:
My parents sound extremely similar to OP's parents. They are in a cult-like sect of Christianity and on Mother's day 2016 they spent over an hour berating me and trying to convince me that all of my health issues (physical & mental) would all just disappear if I gave my life to God.😒🙄 Of course, they didn't bother to ask about my relationship with my creator prior to assuming. Besides, it doesn't work like that.🤷🏽‍♀️ They are also hard core conservatives, homophobic af, racist af, and think they're better than everyone else. I eventually had to go no-contact bc I realized that no matter what I did, I'd never get the unconditional love I sought bc they are not capable of unconditional love. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know this is an old video but I still wanna give my two cents on the open marriage guy. I think he, like a lot of straight men, is just completely ignorant on the subject of nonmonogamy. He probably just assumed you could have a handshake agreement on finding a fuck buddy and call it a day. I haven’t been in a monogamous relationship since i was like 18 (I’m 31) and I can tell you that if you don’t have top tier communication with your partner beforehand then it’s going to end in disaster. And yes, this means coming to the table every so often for a check in and possible rewriting of the rules. Jealousy is often part of it. It seems like what he’s jealous of is just how much of her time and effort is going into this. If it really is every night and she’s always dressing up and having fancy dinners with these men that is actually a slightly different situation than showing up at someone’s house for a quick sesh and bouncing. Would it be totally unfair for him to take back the open relationship just because he ain’t getting any? Yes. But it’s completely valid to sort through your feelings and decide you want to add a couple rules. IF YOU DONT HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATION FROM THE JUMP AN OPEN MARRIAGE WILL COMPLETELY SINK YOU. If I had a nickel for every time i had to explain that…
Tl;dr homie is just a dumbass who did not do even the briefest of research. Everyone’s emotions are valid but choosing ignorance is not

Not being told about the engagement and possibly not being invited to the wedding may serve as a wake up call for the parents... If OP cares to try to mend it(understandable if not), they may be able to bring up the hard discussion concerning their behavior.
