- Ever wondered how we clean the outside of our trains? We have train washing machines (imagine a normal car wash, but much bigger) at our depots to make sure our fleet always looks their best.
In order to let the brushes work their magic, the drivers have to keep their speed down to walking pace.
Brilliant behind the scenes video, enjoyed this
my daughter loves these thanks 🤣
Great video, nice capture! Thumbs Up & Subscribe
Greetings from Ireland
Andrew
Great train
Great video
Could steam engines use the train wash?
Anybody know why are there two arches - is there a "wash and a rinse," is it "we've got one either end of the depot so we might as well use both" or something else...? TIA
A two stage wash like that allows the detergent time to react and 'soak the dirt off' before being scrubbed and rinsed clean
Anyone else that googled “How do you was a train”? LMAO
I have a couple of questions. Is it only diesel electric that can be washed this way? If it is electric only, how is the train powered through this wash?? Thanks for the "behind the scenes" video.
Hi Lesley, this was shot at Haymarket depot, which only looks after diesel trains. At our electric train depots, we've very similar washers without an enclosed roof. ^Angus
Any chance you could tell me the decibel levels from about 30 feet away?
saw how clean the train was on bald and bankrupt and i was hoping a ton of water was not wasted on washing trains.
I love ScotRail 170s and new hats but il miss the 314 I love there first Scot rail livers on all trains ScotRail is grate
Jessica Clark same I like the 314s
@@southern.spotter Here as well
That very unit is now with East Midlands Railway and got a New Livery..
It is! Along with 170416 and 3 more Scotrail 170s.
Nice video, but how do you wash the front and rear of the units ?
I came here to type exactly that!
Is it true u gave Northern some of our 158s
nice, squeaky wipers tho
I've been having this question roam in my head for awhile, cant you guys use soap on your trains to wash them or you can't do that because Germany has a train wash that can do so many steps of cleaning a train and they use shampoo?
Hello sir
✨😁👍
Where is this?
Haymarket Depot in Edinburgh. Where the Class 170 and HST fleet is based and maintained.
А на россии 2 бабки со швабрами делают это!
