*Vedangas:* वेदों के ६ अंग(limbs) है। Vedangas are the subjects required for one to study Vedas systematically and comprehend them. १. शिक्षा (Phonology, Phonetics) - इसमें शब्दों का सही और शुद्ध उच्चारण होता है । कौनसा स्वर कहाँ से बोलना है, कैसे बोलना है यह ज्ञात नहीं होता तब तक वेद मंत्र का शुद्ध उच्चारण नहीं कर सकते। शुद्ध उच्चारण से व्यक्ति के विद्वता का पता चलता है। मंत्रो का प्रभाव होता है अगर मंत्र को उसी रूप में बोला जाए जिस रूप में उसे कहा गया है। २. निरुक्त (Word Origin, Etymology) - शब्द की उत्पत्ति कहाँ से हुई है। जब तक आप निरुक्त को नहीं जानते तब तक आप वेद के शब्द का अर्थ नहीं निकाल सकते। ३. व्याकरण (Grammar) - पाणिनी ने संस्कृत भाषा के व्याकरण को शुद्ध बनाया। पाणिनी से पहले बहुत सारी व्याकरण चलती थी, इसलिए लोग एक-दूसरे की भाषा नहीं समझ पाते थे। तो पाणिनी ने शुद्ध व्याकरण लिखी और लिखकर लोगों के पास ले गए। किन्तु लोगों ने अहंकार के कारण पाणिनी के व्याकरण को स्वीकार नहीं किया। फिर पाणिनी ने भगवान शंकर को व्याकरण सुनाई। भगवान शंकर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और कहाँ कि इतनी शुद्ध और सुन्दर व्याकरण है और यह अहंकारी लोग स्वीकार नहीं कर रहे हैं इसलिए वेदों के अर्थ गलत निकाल रहे हैं । कोई कुछ अर्थ निकालता है तो कोई कुछ। आज से यही प्रचलित होगी। भगवान शंकर ने हिमालय पर डमरू बजा के कहाँ कि केवल पाणिनी की व्याकरण सुनी जायेगी। Max Mueller said that Panini's Grammar is perfect and better than Greek or Latin Grammar. ४. छंद(Metrics, Poetic metre) - Number of syllables per verse. Chhanda means "pleasing, alluring, lovely, delightful or charming", and is based on the root chad which means "esteemed to please, to seem good, feel pleasant and/or something that nourishes, gratifies or is celebrated". The term also refers to "any metrical part of the Vedas or other composition". ५. कल्प (Ritual Instructions) - This field focused on standardizing procedures for Vedic rituals, rites of passage rituals associated with major life events such as birth, wedding and death in family, as well as discussing the personal conduct and proper duties of an individual in different stages of his life. ६. ज्योतिष (Astrology) - Right time for rituals with the help of position of nakshatras and asterisms and astronomy. This auxiliary Vedic discipline focused on time keeping.

Thirty-three k0ti yani ki Thirty-three prakaar ke. _इन 33 में से आठ वसु है।_ वसु अर्थात हमें वसाने वाले आत्मा का जहां वास होता है। ये आठ वसु हैं: धरती, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, चंद्रमा, सूर्य और नक्षत्र। ये आठ वसु प्रजा को वसाने वाले अर्थात धारण या पालने वाले हैं। _इसी तरह 11 रुद्र आते हैं।_ दरअसल यह रुद्र शरीर के अव्यय है। जब यह अव्यय एक-एक करके शरीर से निकल जाते हैं तो यह रोदन कराने वाले होते हैं। अर्थात जब मनुष्य मर जाता है तो उसके भीतर के यह सभी 11 रुद्र निकल जाते हैं जिनके निकलने के बाद उसे मृत मान लिया जाता है। तब उसके सगे-संबंधी उसके समक्ष रोते हैं। _12 आदित्य होते हैं।_ आदित्य सूर्य को कहते हैं। भारतीय कैलेंडर सूर्य पर ही आधारित है। समय के 12 माह को 12 आदित्य कहते हैं। इन्हें आदित्य इसलिए कहते हैं क्योंकि यह हमारी आयु को हरते हैं। जैसे-जैसे समय बढ़ता जाता है हमारी आयु घटती जाती है। ये बारह आदिय 12 माह के नाम हैं। सूर्य की 12 रश्मियों को भी इन्हीं की श्रेणी में रखा गया है। 8 वसु, 11 रुद्र और 12 आदित्य को मिलाकर कुल हुए 31 अव्यय। _32वां है इंद्र।_ इंद्र का अर्थ बिजली या ऊर्जा। _33वां है यज्ज।_ यज्ज अर्थात प्रजापति, जिससे वायु, दृष्टि, जल और शिल्प शास्त्र हमारा उन्नत होता है, औषधियां पैदा होती है। ये Thirty-three कोटी अर्थात 33 प्रकार के अव्यव हैं जिन्हें देव कहा गया। देव का अर्थ होता है दिव्य गुणों से युक्त। हमें ईश्वर ने जिस रूप में यह 33 पदार्थ दिए हैं उसी रूप में उन्हें शुद्ध, निर्मल और पवित्र बनाए रखना चाहिए।

Finally, a talk contrasting Indian and Greek Philosophy. I would love to do a podcast or video essay on that myself. First of all, lets begin by acknowledging a fact which has been touched on by many comparative scholar of philosophy, linguistics and history. India and Greek philosophy are not polar opposite traditions of Philosophy, they belong to a sister culture of Aryans that developed in close contact with India pre alexander. This is why early presocratic Greek philosophy, including Pythagoras have striking similarities with the the Darsanas and have similar doctrines like rebirth and liberation. However, post-socratic philosophy after the invasion of Alexander, the Greeks met Indians as strangers and with am amnesia of their previous contacts. Still, though Indian philosophy continued to have a lot of influence on Greek Philosophy, such as on the thought of Plotinus. However, by the post-socratic phase some clear differences in philosophical perspectives had emerged - the Greeks became materialistic, with a this worldly emphasis and separated from religion, which was different from the Indian perspective which was spiritual, metaphysical and religious. So to answer the question why hasn't there been any progress in Darsana philosophy, it is because Darsana is about religious philosophy and has a religious purpose - moksha. Even Nyaya and Vaiseshika which are realists, rationalists and empiricists only consider the study of the categories or paradaraths as only necessary insofar as we gain knowledge of the discriminative knowledge of the soul as distinct from the body. Thus much of the preoccupation of Nyaya and Vaiseshika is in proving the existence of a soul separate from the body. Later, the emphasis moves to proving God through natural theology. However, that said, Nyaya-Vaiseshika also had application in applied material sciences like Ayurveda and Vaastu and later. Another reason why there is no progress in Darsana philosophy, is because it deals with ultimate realities, and you cannot progress beyond an ultimate reality. For example Vaiseshika postulates the ultimate reality is atoms, which are point like dimensionless and there are 4 distinct types and whose combinations make up all material substances in space and time. Isn't that pretty much what modern physics also says? So basically we haven't actually really progressed in the philosophy of atomism as we are simply just validating what the Darsaniks told us. However, what we have progressed in is the material and technological application of atoms, the ideas are still the same. Ditto with Samkhya with an observer/knower(purusha) and observed/known and the instruments of knowing re senses etc, similar philosophies are being spoken about in modern quantum physics, validating again what the Darsaniks told us that Prakriti is observer dependent - she puts non show on if there is no spectator - i.e., no creation, no space-time and atoms. The Indian tradition doesn't make progress as such, but because it is santatana , in every age interpreters come to explain it again in the language and terminology of the time to make it relevant again. Like Swami Vivekananda introduced Neo-Vedanta to bring it up to date with modern physics or Sri Aurobinido introduced Integral Yoga to bring up to date with modern psychology. Have no doubts about it, even in the 25th century interpreters will rise to again teach it. I myself consider myself a Samkhya-Vadin and I want to pursue research to bring Samkhya up to date with 21st century philosophy -- for it has applications in many areas of science quantum physics, neuroscience, cognitive science, evolutionary biology, AI etc. There are so problems contemporary philosophy is grappling with which Samkhya can offer illumination on.
Bharatiya Philosophy is like an ocean while Greek Philosophy is like a pond which was created from the water of this ocean. All their thoughts, ideas and scientific inventions were either inspired or copied from us. Even their mythology is copied from our Puaranas,(same goes for nearby region like Armenia, Austria).. You can find similar mythological stories in Bible because it was copied from Armenia and Armenia culture is extremely influenced by Santan Dharm. Bible was actually written in Aramaic, Some shilalekha of Ashoka in western Bharat were written in Greek & Aramaic, so yeah we had long trade relationship & they also came here copied many scripts took them back like Chinese did, we of course never mind because it was important for the development of mankind.
Even hindu puranic mythology too adopted many local tribal, tantric cults gods too and accumulated it under the broader umbrella for which they made it as avatars of shiva, vishnu and others

*Vedangas:* वेदों के ६ अंग(limbs) है। Vedangas are the subjects required for one to study Vedas systematically and comprehend them.
१. शिक्षा (Phonology, Phonetics) - इसमें शब्दों का सही और शुद्ध उच्चारण होता है । कौनसा स्वर कहाँ से बोलना है, कैसे बोलना है यह ज्ञात नहीं होता तब तक वेद मंत्र का शुद्ध उच्चारण नहीं कर सकते। शुद्ध उच्चारण से व्यक्ति के विद्वता का पता चलता है। मंत्रो का प्रभाव होता है अगर मंत्र को उसी रूप में बोला जाए जिस रूप में उसे कहा गया है।
२. निरुक्त (Word Origin, Etymology) - शब्द की उत्पत्ति कहाँ से हुई है। जब तक आप निरुक्त को नहीं जानते तब तक आप वेद के शब्द का अर्थ नहीं निकाल सकते।
३. व्याकरण (Grammar) - पाणिनी ने संस्कृत भाषा के व्याकरण को शुद्ध बनाया। पाणिनी से पहले बहुत सारी व्याकरण चलती थी, इसलिए लोग एक-दूसरे की भाषा नहीं समझ पाते थे। तो पाणिनी ने शुद्ध व्याकरण लिखी और लिखकर लोगों के पास ले गए। किन्तु लोगों ने अहंकार के कारण पाणिनी के व्याकरण को स्वीकार नहीं किया। फिर पाणिनी ने भगवान शंकर को व्याकरण सुनाई। भगवान शंकर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और कहाँ कि इतनी शुद्ध और सुन्दर व्याकरण है और यह अहंकारी लोग स्वीकार नहीं कर रहे हैं इसलिए वेदों के अर्थ गलत निकाल रहे हैं । कोई कुछ अर्थ निकालता है तो कोई कुछ। आज से यही प्रचलित होगी। भगवान शंकर ने हिमालय पर डमरू बजा के कहाँ कि केवल पाणिनी की व्याकरण सुनी जायेगी। Max Mueller said that Panini's Grammar is perfect and better than Greek or Latin Grammar.
४. छंद(Metrics, Poetic metre) - Number of syllables per verse. Thirty-three k0ti yani ki Thirty-three prakaar ke.
_इन 33 में से आठ वसु है।_ वसु अर्थात हमें वसाने वाले आत्मा का जहां वास होता है। ये आठ वसु हैं: धरती, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, चंद्रमा, सूर्य और नक्षत्र। ये आठ वसु प्रजा को वसाने वाले अर्थात धारण या पालने वाले हैं।
_इसी तरह 11 रुद्र आते हैं।_ दरअसल यह रुद्र शरीर के अव्यय है। जब यह अव्यय एक-एक करके शरीर से निकल जाते हैं तो यह रोदन कराने वाले होते हैं। अर्थात जब मनुष्य मर जाता है तो उसके भीतर के यह सभी 11 रुद्र निकल जाते हैं जिनके निकलने के बाद उसे मृत मान लिया जाता है। तब उसके सगे-संबंधी उसके समक्ष रोते हैं।
_12 आदित्य होते हैं।_ आदित्य सूर्य को कहते हैं। भारतीय कैलेंडर सूर्य पर ही आधारित है। समय के 12 माह को 12 आदित्य कहते हैं। इन्हें आदित्य इसलिए कहते हैं क्योंकि यह हमारी आयु को हरते हैं। जैसे-जैसे समय बढ़ता जाता है हमारी आयु घटती जाती है। ये बारह आदिय 12 माह के नाम हैं। सूर्य की 12 रश्मियों को भी इन्हीं की श्रेणी में रखा गया है। 8 वसु, 11 रुद्र और 12 आदित्य को मिलाकर कुल हुए 31 अव्यय।
_32वां है इंद्र।_ इंद्र का अर्थ बिजली या ऊर्जा।
_33वां है यज्ज।_ यज्ज अर्थात प्रजापति, जिससे वायु, दृष्टि, जल और शिल्प शास्त्र हमारा उन्नत होता है, औषधियां पैदा होती है। ये Thirty-three कोटी अर्थात 33 प्रकार के अव्यव हैं जिन्हें देव कहा गया। देव का अर्थ होता है दिव्य गुणों से युक्त। हमें ईश्वर ने जिस रूप में यह 33 पदार्थ दिए हैं उसी रूप में उन्हें शुद्ध, निर्मल और पवित्र बनाए रखना चाहिए।

India and Greek philosophy are not polar opposite traditions of Philosophy, they belong to a sister culture of Aryans that developed in close contact with India pre alexander. This is why early presocratic Greek philosophy, including Pythagoras have striking similarities with the the Darsanas and have similar doctrines like rebirth and liberation. However, post-socratic philosophy after the invasion of Alexander, the Greeks met Indians as strangers and with am amnesia of their previous contacts. Still, though Indian philosophy continued to have a lot of influence on Greek Philosophy, such as on the thought of Plotinus. However, by the post-socratic phase some clear differences in philosophical perspectives had emerged - the Greeks became materialistic, with a this worldly emphasis and separated from religion, which was different from the Indian perspective which was spiritual, metaphysical and religious.
So to answer the question why hasn't there been any progress in Darsana philosophy, it is because Darsana is about religious philosophy and has a religious purpose - moksha. Even Nyaya and Vaiseshika which are realists, rationalists and empiricists only consider the study of the categories or paradaraths as only necessary insofar as we gain knowledge of the discriminative knowledge of the soul as distinct from the body. Thus much of the preoccupation of Nyaya and Vaiseshika is in proving the existence of a soul separate from the body. Later, the emphasis moves to proving God through natural theology. However, that said, Nyaya-Vaiseshika also had application in applied material sciences like Ayurveda and Vaastu and later.
Another reason why there is no progress in Darsana philosophy, is because it deals with ultimate realities, and you cannot progress beyond an ultimate reality. For example Vaiseshika postulates the ultimate reality is atoms, which are point like dimensionless and there are 4 distinct types and whose combinations make up all material substances in space and time. Isn't that pretty much what modern physics also says? So basically we haven't actually really progressed in the philosophy of atomism as we are simply just validating what the Darsaniks told us. However, what we have progressed in is the material and technological application of atoms, the ideas are still the same. Ditto with Samkhya with an observer/knower(purusha) and observed/known and the instruments of knowing re senses etc, similar philosophies are being spoken about in modern quantum physics, validating again what the Darsaniks told us that Prakriti is observer dependent - she puts non show on if there is no spectator - i.e., no creation, no space-time and atoms.
The Indian tradition doesn't make progress as such, but because it is santatana , in every age interpreters come to explain it again in the language and terminology of the time to make it relevant again. Like Swami Vivekananda introduced Neo-Vedanta to bring it up to date with modern physics or Sri Aurobinido introduced Integral Yoga to bring up to date with modern psychology. Have no doubts about it, even in the 25th century interpreters will rise to again teach it. I myself consider myself a Samkhya-Vadin and I want to pursue research to bring Samkhya up to date with 21st century philosophy -- for it has applications in many areas of science quantum physics, neuroscience, cognitive science, evolutionary biology, AI etc. There are so problems contemporary philosophy is grappling with which Samkhya can offer illumination on.
Bharatiya Philosophy is like an ocean while Greek Philosophy is like a pond which was created from the water of this ocean.
All their thoughts, ideas and scientific inventions were either inspired or copied from us. Even their mythology is copied from our Puaranas,(same goes for nearby region like Armenia, Austria).. You can find similar mythological stories in Bible because it was copied from Armenia and Armenia culture is extremely influenced by Santan Dharm.
Bible was actually written in Aramaic, Some shilalekha of Ashoka in western Bharat were written in Greek & Aramaic, so yeah we had long trade relationship & they also came here copied many scripts took them back like Chinese did, we of course never mind because it was important for the development of mankind.
Even hindu puranic mythology too adopted many local tribal, tantric cults gods too and accumulated it under the broader umbrella for which they made it as avatars of shiva, vishnu and others
This is just a bruised ego talking from being colonialized for 200 years. The practical reality of the Indian state is that all of its institution are based on the British state. A more mature perspective doesn't care about the origin of ideas but finds the good ones and implements them

If anything, indian was more dogmatic since they could have also incorporated the ideas from the west but did it less. 11:02 - This attitude I have noticed in various students of western philosopher that they come with attitude of 'i-know-it-all", they don't have an aura-vibe you can feel around students of eastern philosophies, they all together have different attitude and aura.. This might be my biased but I find this stark difference in this podcast too. Starting with this timestamp where zaheen lakhnavi mentioned that acharya ji ne mota mati sahi btaya ab but ab main edkm exact jo difference hai wo btaunga..
