These kiddos are lucky. This is high quality skating coaching.
an average skating coach
@@elimhazard9938 Well above average.
@@dreadlockjesus1 yeah ok...
@@elimhazard9938 you prob play rec
@@konstantinosefelis3088 I play tripple A elite for my team is number 8 in the U.S.
Yes, what a great coach
My knees exploded just watching this
*well your name tells us that you aren’t on a level to understand this... so of course your knees would break.*
thank you! also might have broken my femur at the same time
These kids are getting taught more then I ever have about skating.
Just the crunch of the ice he makes lets you know he is an elite skater. The crunch is also music to the ears 😂😂
I don't know how to skate and never played hockey, BUT this guy is a phenomenal teacher. I really enjoy these videos
I’m 50 years old, I’m from the Caribbean and I’m learning how to skate and play hockey 🏒
I have to say that I’m learning a lot from this
Thank you very much 🙏
That’s badass. Don’t be discouraged. Keep on keeping on. 👍
Bro is a great coach and has some skillz
Man I miss playing hockey 😭
Being able to do this both ways already puts you above a ton of other hockey players
Love this drill, will absolutely be incorporating it into my lessons
Great coach!
He’s so good. Makes it look so easy.
I never had coaching when I was a kid. These kids have no idea how fortunate they are.
Fantastic coach
Ohhh I am going to watch this a million times thank you so much
Love your videos
My parents let me attend clinics like this during my childhood. The things I learned there helped me go from worst league in city to the second best.
They were free? That’s so lucky.
My ankles snapped just watching this video
Been trying to figure out my forehand punch turn, gotta try this out
I liked seeing some of the kids attempt the technique after you taught it. That’s a nice touch.
That looks hard!
Adult French African over 30 living in Australia now motivated to pick up Ice hockey.
Did you start yet? If you're in Melbourne, check out ice house Docklands or icehq reservoir if you haven't already. They have beginner programs for adults. That's how I started.
Nice, there’s currently only 1 NHL player from Australia. Nate walker i think his name is
Comment if you got it first try and I will send something back to you!😊
Forgot to tell the kiddies how you apply this technique as an attacking player.
You can cross over like you're going outside and around the D, then punch turn to the middle.
You can also use these with escapes in the corner. Matt Barzal is an absolute master of this. Pull any highlight clips of him and you'll see him utilizing these to shake guys in the corner.
Best coach 💪💪💪
he has to have a mic on his skates because those sound are so crisp😂
Bro sound from skates is so amazing😀
Man this guy is a killer coach! I had some badass coaches when I was a kid absolutely miss the game !
I have one question for the trainer/ coach. What size are your feet and what size are your skates. They look to big and it looks like speed skater skates on you. Just asking
What a good couch you make so easy to understand
And very comfy apparently.
Thats not how to punch turn
Lucky kids I’ll try that at my next practice
I’d like to know more details on what measurement you used on the sharpening of the blades? More or less than 1/2”?
Looks like both kids did it better than he did!
Just because he overacts it to demonstrate the move more understandable way...
the first kid who did it was my brother lol
This guy Is single handedly coaching the next great generations of kids
Yeah I remember when I was that age I was being told to skate as fast as I could and dive on the blue/red lines and get up haha
It's called the giraffe on ice stop. The kids execute it better than the coach
At what point was there any acceleration
Also called the knee and ankle breaker
❤
Bro my ankle will break with that
I always known this as a power turn due to the high velocity
Im 50 years old just started playing! I've had dreams I can skate like this! 😳
As a professional skills coach. Woof
almost 40 and still cant stop on my back foot
These kids don’t understand how lucky they are. I’m full self taught and I’m the fastest skater on my team. Imagine if I got trained like this
Wish I could afford to learn all of this ! I have the spirit to be a hockey player no fucking doubt
I can’t wait for this!🏒
Man I missed clinic as a kid.
Rly cool! Gonna try this at the ice hutch today
Favorite rink
In ny?
@@elimhazard9938 yep
@@daveruby2854 nice
Awesome..
Engrossing trainer...
If you left the time..then warmly visit in kargil ladakh...there are going on enough craze of ice skating to new generation...
Plzzzz
Yes he’s definitely in India as that’s prime real estate for an ice hockey coach 👌
Man, I’m having such a hard time just getting the hockey stop down correctly. I have roller hockey so ingrained into the way I stop it’s wreaking havoc on my abilities and holding me back.
yea can you explain the difference. I also play roller and am still ass but I can stop in that. on ice my skates seem like they have no grip or edges and I can't stop
@@brianbowen74maybe sharpen your skates and see if that helps
@@brianbowen74 you have to find the point at which your skates allow that glide. I also prefer my skates a little worn down. I don’t like them when they are freshly sharpened. For roller, I swung my legs wide. Ice you just have to get that foot turned and on on the all of the foot. I’m getting there myself but I also only practice during warmups. Stand up against the wall and take your skate push out to the sides and find that spot. That’s what I was doing.
Having this guy as a coach would be awesome yet terrifying
Me and my beer league team are all putting in for power skating training sessions.
I wonder if this guy is training adults 🤔
Someone gonna tear there whole leg apart
How often does he have to sharpen his skates!!!
😂😂 alot of pros change their steel every period so to answer your question prob a few times a week. It is a personal preference tho. For instance I dont like them fresh off the wheel. If i have a game tomorrow i want them sharpened before the last practice i have before the game so i can get an hour on them before trying to make cuts like that.
makar move
I will break and dislocate my shin in 3 places trying this
I love how you all think your kids are lucky... hahaha
they better than me ☠️
CAN YOU PLEASE PUT SOME PARTS ON SLOW MOTION 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I just snapped my ankles
Dork
How often should I be sharpening my skates? His sound super sharp. I play one game a week in a men’s league.
It all depends on what type of stand’s and skill. There are different types of cuts for skates. When I was younger I would sharpen my skates every game. Now in old timers league 4 to 5 games then sharpen. I would use a stone on them to make sure edge is still okay.
I’d say once every couple months
Definitely more than every couple of months. You walk from the room to ice and back and a lot of times little pebbles you walk on and times you crash into the boards or step on some stick etc so minimal once a month
@@rossmontreal4570 thanks Ross, good points. I’ll sharpen after every 4 or 5 games. I crashed into the boards and also we walk where the public walks down a long hall, so you’re right. That’s why my skates feel so dull. Im sliding a bit extra than I’d like instead of a hard stop.
@@HotSauceStain Benny sir it’s 44 yrs of playing hockey and lots of learning curves. I have the old fashion stone that I still use on my skates as the younger generation use the new v types. Where part of North America do you live
That just looks like an easy way to break your ankles 😂
I couldn’t imagine having a coach like this. It was basically suicides & baby skating drills
This looks like a recipe for hyperextension or worse lateral tearing in the knee. Not sure if all the kiddos have the muscle to support it as the coach does.
My sprained ankle is crying 🥲
Is 65 flex to little
The kids: 👁👄👁
I know people who teach skating technique for the pros and this guys is teaching inefficient skating.
Lol nobody turns like that ever
Чего он так орет
Ive been in dat rink
If you really want to get good, take a year or figure skating lessons. You'll get really in tuned to your feet.
Please wear a helmet.
Ur gaining speed and also decelerating...ur basically stopping😂 bro what are tf r u saying
Not a great technique- poor balance out of the turn - feet are too wide to get quick feet acceleration 😊
Hate to be that guy but a punch turn is for good balance and a quick turn away so you dont get rocked
edit: But that wasn't really a punch turn more of a half stop
@Gushie I just clicked on your channel and I saw the chel stuff lolol, I'm totally cracked at the game but I stopped playing a few months ago, maybe we could play together sometime when nhl23 is out haha
@Gushie lolol, I also haven't pre-ordered yet but I might end up pre-ordering the cheaper edition. Are you on ps4 ? If you are what's your psn name
Stick to baseball bud
Not one nhler has used this technique that risks blowing your ankles lol. Especially kids who don't know the full control of their body out there. You guys who think this is useful or a technique u can use have played too much chel and never been in a actual high level game. Lol stfu and keep playing chel like u r talking about. Bums
This guy seems to advanced for this level of play and it confuses me as someone who has played hockey for 30 years
Learn hockey then coach that’s not a correct punch turn
This guy would probably dust you in hockey
@@jmoriarty8000 this guy is the worst coach every I learn from Dallas stars skating coach buddy
🤦
This guy is a clown
ahahah wtf is this ?
That was not a punch turn that was a half start lol
what player has ever jumped into a turn?... go watch the dylan larkin punch turn video
wtf this guy on 🤣🤣🤣🤣 he doesn't even do it at gull speed cause you'll bust your ankle. learn puck
Me with never used retro
Skates trying to do this lol 🦶🦴 🩻
Wish I could afford to learn all of this ! I have the spirit to be a hockey player no fucking doubt
