The batteries are rub in series. Multiply 1.5x12 and you have your nominal voltage. New AA batteries are often 1.5 to 1.6 actual volts. Really no need for jumpers and a meter. People be careful. The batteries in three of these i bought leaked all in the flashlights. Im attempting to salvage them. That lead me here. I was hoping to see the disassembly of the flashlight not removing the battery pack.
@@BestUserNameUK How you know about getting free batteries from the stores at my work lol. I actually have another idea which is using 14500 lithium batteries which are 3.7v. They are used as backup batteries on some of the circuit boards at work and have to be changed after a certain amount of years. There is actually nothing wrong with the old batteries that get removed but just have to be changed as that is the procedure. So will be doing some tinkering with them.
Where you able to get rid of the 12 AA batteries and install a rechargeable battery on it?
you can buy rechargable batteries and a charger for AA
@@genxkevin but they will only provide 1.2v instead of 1.5v
Hello 👋, just noticed this light for sale in Costco Canada 🇨🇦, did you find a replacement battery 🔋?
sort of I have a 5s battery just need to mod it
The AA batteries is a let down with most flashlights today using rechargeable Li ion batteries plus type C charging sockets.
Man can any answer if the head come off? That bad boy doesn’t want to screw off.
The end cap screws off where the switch is but have not tired to screw the head off.

@@nolimit7 Do you think it's better than a 'D' cell Maglite? They do LED versions now & also conversion kits for the older ones.
@@BestUserNameUK This is much cheaper and a lot brighter than the top maglite. The top maglite is around 1000lumens.
@@nolimit7 Not sure about the 12 'AA' batteries mate, but I bet you can get them from the stores at work😉
