What? The flagships are faster than ever. And with the tiny multi maps, players park them on top of one another within the first 2 minutes of a match. Looks stupid, feels absolutely wrong. Game needs way bigger maps or that and slower flagships.

@@riesstiu2khunning It's not that the flagships are fast, but that the maps are tiny. Gone are the vast gulfs of space that required thoughtful coordination and timing to navigate. Every game mode is a knife fight in a phone booth with ship spam replacing fleet makeup and positioning decisions.

Maybe not many games attempted to move action into full 3d space, but there are actually games that did this much better than H3 (Nebulos for example). But tactics in this game is just only about "select all units and send them forward". Campaign for 8 hours, half of it being cutscenes. Lol. This game is a mistake, there is no much that can be done here. 6/10 tops, but 5/10 would be more accurate. 41% postive on steam... maybe bit harsh, but I guess it is more realistic than any paid hyped opinions.

To just be clear we are not in anyway a paid hyped opinion. Not saying you said that just clarifying lol. We can deff see the 41% positive on steam.

@@FlipBrosGaming Well, I wouldnt do this game in first place. I've played both H1 and H2 ages ago... and H2 maybe year ago again. I think these games were really good, but they also "overdelivered". I dont feel that there is much to deliver in this franchise. Storywise: maybe yes, though Im not sure, but this game is just partially about the story, Homeworld is about very specific way of managing fleet in 3d enviroment. This is a trademark of the franchise. And some specific visual stuff as well. H3 is basically 60 USD game with short campaign, almost same battles as we had in H2 and just minor upgrades. For me the very idea of asking for 60 USD and offering nice looking but pretty shallow game is a wrong decision.
There are games that picked up some good solutions from Homeworld and went step ahead, for example Nebulous: Fleet Command. Game has full 3d enviroment, but is also much more realistic, it went towards more psychics based games with majority of warfare stuff buit around radars, stealth and quite interesting model of destruction. I guess there is no reason for H3 to go this way, but if we compare both products we see that H3 is arcade-RTS, with almost no tactical layer and very simplified. It means that at the end of the day the only important thing in this game is building more stuff that enemy has, selecting them all and sending towards enemy.
To be honest: it wasnt easy to create H3. Obviously this franchise doesnt offer that many options to follow. To make sure that H3 remains Homeworld devs had very few options to choose. They had to stick to several old solutions. They did attempt to refresh few things... but they failed to introduce anything that could be worth selling this game in 2024. Maybe H3 would fail anyway, since it is hard to comply to unknown expectations.
I heard that we will have new Total War - this time based in Star Wars enviroment. So, I guess there is a chance for much bigger fail than in case of H3. Im really looking forward to see how devs will manage to merge mechanics and tactical system tailored for medieval/ancient battles with science fiction stuff. Players are already laughing that they will get a game they never asked for ;-P.
