本作品群は、取り壊しと再建の圧力の中で消えていく古い街並みや風景を持つ京都やソウルのような、歴史ある都市の変化と記憶を想起させる。
本展では、モノクロのフィルム写真を通して、初期段階の取り壊しから真新しいタワーマンション建設に至るまで、ソウル近郊橋南洞(キョナムドン)地域「再開発」の様子を再現する。
This exhibition invites viewers to think about memory and change in historic cities such as Kyoto and Seoul, where old streetscapes disappear amid the pressure to demolish and rebuild. Through black and white film photographs, the exhibition follows the process of “redevelopment” in the Gyonam-dong neighborhood of Seoul, from the first stages of demolition to the rising of the new apartment towers.
