I missed to write my comments here! As you restarted the reaction to Forestella, I leave it now...
Forestella first sang their version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the KBS Immortal Songs which is a kind of remake competition music entertainment show. It made them known to the world, and later they put it in their 2nd album titled Mystique. They had concert tour under the title Mystique. This video was filmed at the Mystique encore concert, the last of the tour.
I prefer their Immortal Songs video because it shows their acting in the performance better. Here it's too dark to see it well.. I recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel. There are 2 more Queen renditions in addition to the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella.
3 of them sang The Show Must Go On as their bass enlisted for his national duty. But don't worry too much! Your favorite bass will come back in May 2025. Forestella is a group of workaholic geniuses, you have tons of videos to watch!

I hope you find a clear cut fan made story of their lives. Until then:
They accidentally came together in a competition show specifically to find a cross over quartet - Phantom Singer 2. RUclips channel "The Forestella" has 42 clips of the show showing their progression. Each 3-5 minutes.
Mingyu (light tenor) knew about Woorim (bass) from college. They are classically trained. Mingyu saved Woorim by choosing him for a duet in Phantom Singer 2. (the 2 means season 2)
Doohoon (baritone) was/is musical theater. He is teaching them how to perform on stage.
Hyungho (counter tenor - highest voice) was a chemical engineer. Phantom Singer 2 was his last ditch effort to become a professional singer. He hoped he'd be teamed up with Mingyu who is a good teacher. He has a rock group and his stage name is Pitta.
Mingyu is the leader.
Doohoon is the maknae (youngest)
Woorim is married (2022). Doohoon is married (2023).

this performance was a live recording a few years back at their mystique concert tour, but the first time they performed it was on a weekly musical variety show called immortal songs 2. it's a show on which they still perform frequently (their most recent being despacito in july). it's their covers on this show going viral which propelled them to notoriety outside of korea. the premise is that artists come on and perform the "immortal songs" of past artists or perform songs within a specific theme or genre. it all started with their performance of bohemian rhapsody in 2019. it was their first cover to go viral.
the group formed in 2017 on a musical competition show called phantom singer. they were the second season winners and they debuted in march 2018. they've been around awhile, but until the past couple of years were really only well known in korea. since they are a classical crossover quartet and not a kpop group they are what is considered a "niche" genre. they are in there with andrea bocelli, josh groban, lara fabian, celtic woman etc. they have original music of their own, but sadly it doesn't achieve the popularity of their covers. it's their ability to "cross over" that makes them brilliant i suppose.
the starter kit i posted for you on your despacito reaction has 5 original songs right at the top. IMO their most epic is UTOPIA. but utopia is part 2 in a trilogy. the first song in the trilogy is SAVE OUR LIVES. i reccomend those 2 for your next reactions! the composer of utopia, a dutch man named valensia clarkson, is a big queen enthusiast! you can hear a bit of the influence in utopia.

Forestella consists of Ko-Woorim basso profundo trained opera singer, Cho Mingyu, tenor, leader of the group, trained opera singer. I've been a fan of Queen since BEFORE they were famous. THIS is what Freddie had in his minds eye. Freddie loved Opera. This is the best cover of it. And, I'm going to say it... when Cho Mingyu sang "Mama just shot a man".. THAT got me more than even Freddie. 😳 Even Queen never sang the middle section live. They played a video and left the stage, until it was finishing and Brian led them back on stage. Loving your Reactions. Try Bad Romance, Shape of you" and "Je suis malade". 😭

Just so you learn their names, their usual lineup from left to right on the screen is the bass ( classically trained and RARE basso profundo) Ko Woorim, then the countertenor, Kang Hyung-ho (also known by his stage name PITTA), then Jo Mingyu, ( or Cho) the leader of the group and a classically trained leggero tenor, and finally, Bae Doo-hoon, a musical theater singer who ranges from baritone to tenor.
