Happy early birthday. I love how you look at a page and just say "nope, not coloring any of that" lol... and it comes out awesome. Need to do more of that myself I think.

It may be interesting to test each of the Crayola pencils on small images just to see what they would do in use and see each color side by side in isolation. I was going to suggest a pumpkin practice sheet I use really often.. there are four on a page and they are just the right size to be fast but not fiddly.. simple but detailed enough to do some shading/blending etc... but unfortunately the colorist's Kofi download page doesn't exist anymore. I was quite surprised, as she had a ton of color charts on there she worked really hard on and were quite popular. I hope she's ok. I have the download, and as it was free and no longer offered I don't think it would be an issue to share it with you, but I'm not sure how to get it to you. Anyway, I know there are a lot of other similar resources out there. Doing the same image really helps me compare media on equal ground so I can see how the media works without the individual image affecting the results. I can also compare paper by just printing it out on a few types and using the same media. If you have a test or blank page in the back of a book you can even remove it and print the designs on it to really test how it behaves before jumping in to a full page in the book. I've found it very helpful. It's saved me a lot of money as well, as it's allowed me to pick up just a few pencils/pens and test them before buying a full set.. I figured out I really don't like some of the most expensive and popular brands, or that they are no different to something else I already own.
