I guess no one has noticed that Casio made a movement upgrade on the B2000 over the B1000 and all other Casio watches. Now the minute hand moves every 5 seconds instead of 10 seconds on the B1000 and other older models, MRG included. Good to know that Casio bother to upgrade their movement.
A very good overview of these stunning watches........ It's hard to explain the purchase of any G-Shock to anyone who is not a G-Shock fan or a Casio person at least.....They are tough, reliable and it makes you look like a badass nerd 🤣...... I am already saving for the all gray version of the MTG 2000.
I'm not a G-Shock fan or owner, but the blue model is so perfect for my daily wear use I'm selling my current more traditional daily (SARB 035) to get one. I understand the manufacturing process that goes into these, so I find them a bargain at the price. I also had the chance to see the red model in person and it definitely represents as a luxury watch. Enjoy your gray version. Excellent choice.
Just picked up the all stainless/Grey version. I like it better than my old mtg1000. It's a bit of a more mature looking watch. You cannot see the resin on the band when you are wearing it, a huge upgrade over the 1000. The only think they downgraded is the lume. The mtg1000 had much better lume than this current model. Yes it has a backlight, but bright glowing lume is still fun for us watch guys.

Well, there very similar feature wise to the Casio Oceanus, but with a more rugged look. Just pulled the trigger on one. $1399 AUD - The black dial variant.
Just an update on the watch, just received it a few days ago, freakin love it. It's the most comfortable watch I have worn. More comfortable than a rubber strap and nato strap. I don't want to take it off now lol. Love the features, love the look. My new fave, my other watches may be sitting on the bench for a while.

(I've seen these sold here around 800-900€ second hand a couple months back) And the retail price was 1400€. Anyways i don't think i'll ever sell this watch. It looks so awesome, and feels so special, and i believe if i did sell it, i would never get anything else quite like it to my collection.
Your closeups are very clear without fidgety movements. The clarity makes the 3 watches even more beautiful! 👍 I already own the one with red bezel and I am getting the black on silver bracelet soon. Though they are exactly the same model, they look different enough for me to buy a second one.

In addition, I realised they have lightened the tone ion plating to give it a grey tone which shines rather than the previous model's dull black. I enjoyed it tremendously, which is the reason why I intend to purchase the one with the black bezel on silver tone metal bracelet.
Nice review, thank you. I have the black/grey now for about a month and I can tell you I like it a lot. I have an 8 inch wrist so the size is fine. G-shock needs also to have some wrist presence in my opinion. It is light and super accurate, the G-shock app is also easy to operate. Feels like a real quality piece on wrist. Un saludo de Barcelona

My experience with painted watches, IO Plating, is that they get easily scratch. They say that is scratch resistant but in reality it gets really ugly after a few years (sometimes only months) of use. If you get a deep cut on the red or blue dial it will show the white steel color on the cut and will ruin the beauty of the watch, it will drive you crazy because there is no way to repair or buff a deep cut on the IO Plating, like you do on non painted steel watch, which yourself can easy repair with some buffeting. Not with IO Plating, you have to send the watch to Casio or to a professional watch repair service to be re-painted and it is not cheep. Casio made a big mistake in selling this new painted MTG's and I probably wont buy ANY of them and wait for a complete clean stainless steel one if they made one later (or maybe the grey one). Here in USA $1,000.00 for a Casio is seen as an obscene expense for many. Other people will laugh you to death after your $1k Casio gets severely scratch after just a few months of use.
@@scubacollie2083 All watches scratch. My experience with Casio's coated watches has always been good and they are very resistant to scratches. That being said I don't wear my MTG or MRG in conditions where they are likely to get hit hard i.e. in the gym.
That's the beauty of a coated watch. It gives a nice worn patina that some people simply love. Heck Casio even sold out out of the g metal square in the "worn" look..

Just picked up my Blue Phoenix today and I am not disappointed. A real stunner and happy that it is not as flashy in person as I thought it might be. I am hoping to find a way to put aftermarket straps on it however
Hello, if you happen to do so can you let us know which after market bracelet you were able to get. I would recommend trying to get a really pricey durable one because if you do end up getting the cheaper ones then they will severely scratch and the black painting will fall off really quick.
The retail price of the b2000 in Spain is 999 euros but it can be easily found for 799 euros. Most retailers will easily give you a discount of 15-20% sometimes even more.
The MTG-B2000B-1A2 (the blue bezel variant) looks so amazing! My only problem with the watch is that it does not come with a black stainless steel bracelet, and we are stuck with the resin strap. Does anyone know where to get a replacement black stainless steel bracelet that fits this watch?
@@TheBoldHairspring That's my concern with these highly polished stainless MTG's. They scratch easily. I am mostly concerned about the bezel. The plating is very thin which can scratch easily. I am hoping they will offer this new MTG with a carbon bezel or resin bezel. I love the new MTG.

what is going on here with the movement. I have a ggb100 and the hour and minute hand operate on the same motor so it's at a ratio. Does this watch operate it's hands independently? it would be the only reason I would look to upgrade. makes the triple sensor stuff feel gimmicky. I should have bought the gwg1000
I am afraid only selected high-end models have separate motors to operate the hands independently, such as GWG-1000, GPW-2000, MTG, MRG, new analogue Frogman. Not even the premium GWR-B1000 full carbon fibre model has it, though it charges a premium price. In my humble opinion, if you are going for a premium G-Shock, get something which is solar powered with Bluetooth synchronisation. Then it's worth the money. You can operate and play with the features, yet not deplete battery power, requiring a battery change. At the same time, your watch timing is synchronised for accuracy.

ive been waiting for a cheaper gshock that has independent motors. i thought this was that watch. :/ an analog triple sensor watch without independently driven motors. is a total fail. i didnt know that when i bought the ggb100. and thought id only lose solar to the gwg1000.

No offense, but those omega and tudor red bezel looks very tacky as in very cheap. To each is own of course, but the only watches that can pull of having different colors on the actual bezels is Casio. They know exactly how to design a very masculine, sporty and sexy beast of watches and no other watch manufacturer can compare to these MTG or MRG I just got the blue version and its unbelievably🔥 and eventually will get MRG in the future.
Does this model auto sync timekeeping via bluetooth 4x per day? Not mentioned in the manual nor website. Suppose to sync at 1230am/pm, 630am, pm. Mine has failed to sync since purchsed
I believe it should but the g-shock app doesn't always work as it's supposed to. Another thing is that if you have multiple bluetooth enabled g-shock watches that all connect to the same smartphone they want all sync at the same time. They will queue up and sync when each of their turn comes. If there is a problem I'm pretty sure it's the app.
@@TheBoldHairspring I found out that this model DOES NOT connect automatically via bluetooth for updating the timekeeping 4x a day, unlike the MTG B1000. Very confusing. The Self Check feature also does not AUTO-CONNECT, it only works WHEN WE MANUALLY connect via bluetooth to the watch (thats my impression so far) But Casio mentioned it will automatically connect via BT once a day. Casio should explained if so, what time the watch will connect. The app also recorded as "successful auto connect timekeeping" even if we connect manually.
@@TheBoldHairspring yes, if yonu have multiple Casio G-Shocks with bluetooth, they will connect automatically at the same time or different time. For example, my GST B100 at 1230pm, MTG B1001A at 12.32pm, and Efice EQB 1100 AT at 1230pm (same time as GST B100). The MTG only recorded connection at 21.55 once since pruchase 3 weeks ago.

Get the burgundy color or you will regret, simply stunning. Only gripe is the poor lume, compared to the MTG B1000.

Does this model auto sync timekeeping via bluetooth 4x per day? Not mentioned in the manual nor website. Suppose to sync at 1230am/pm, 630am, pm. Mine has failed to sync since purchsed
I believe it should but the g-shock app doesn't always work as it's supposed to. Another thing is that if you have multiple bluetooth enabled g-shock watches that all connect to the same smartphone they want all sync at the same time. They will queue up and sync when each of their turn comes. If there is a problem I'm pretty sure it's the app.
@@TheBoldHairspring I found out that this model DOES NOT connect automatically via bluetooth for updating the timekeeping 4x a day, unlike the MTG B1000. Very confusing. The Self Check feature also does not AUTO-CONNECT, it only works WHEN WE MANUALLY connect via bluetooth to the watch (thats my impression so far) But Casio mentioned it will automatically connect via BT once a day. Casio should explained if so, what time the watch will connect. The app also recorded as "successful auto connect timekeeping" even if we connect manually.
@@TheBoldHairspring yes, if yonu have multiple Casio G-Shocks with bluetooth, they will connect automatically at the same time or different time. For example, my GST B100 at 1230pm, MTG B1001A at 12.32pm, and Efice EQB 1100 AT at 1230pm (same time as GST B100). The MTG only recorded connection at 21.55 once since pruchase 3 weeks ago.
@@thomasthomas9802 I see. To be honest I always turn Bluetooth autosync off as where I am atomic keeping works like a charm. Have you tried asking Casio g-shock customer service directly?
