the B4 world is very interesting ,hi have a Canon B4 lens that i bought a while ago , but somehow it doesn't fit on my b4 adapter lens. now the stupid question ,, are there 2 types of b4 lens ? i am planning to pair it with my fs7 that i just purchased.
There are a few different broadcast mounts that look similar to 2/3" B4 but are not cross compatible. I will make a video on it one of these days, but basically you most likely have a 1/2" or 1/3" broadcast lens. Which looks very similar, but is not at all compatible with the "standard" 2/3" B4 mount and lenses. If you tell me the model code of the lens I can confirm what mount it actually is for you ☺️👍
@JPrezz yeah unfortunately that is a 1/2" lens. Not compatible with the 2/3" B4 mount standard. There are basic passthrough adapters that exist for 1/2" they look like a 2/3" basic passthrough adapter but shorter and more expencive. Unfortunately no corrected adapters exist for 1/2" lenses. Good luck, getting a 2/3" lens will make things a lot easier to adapt ☺️👍
@@jamesandcamera thanks for taking the time in helping me solve this puzzle. yeah i will keep an eye and maybe something will turn up. i have some other b4 2/3 lens here As well ,they all came in a bundle a while ago, 2X " fujinon " and this canon , i have been curious about the canon, it looks really solid and was wondering if about the optic quality . all the best
I have a B4 lens like this that I found, I also bought an adapter for my EF Camera, but I’m not sure why it won’t connect. The little screw gets in the way lol
It is probably a 1/2" camera lens rather than a 2/3" B4 lens. They look very very similar but are not the same mount size, and also not the same flange depth for being able to focus. 1/2" lenses have a larger locating pin on the mount that won't fit in a standard B4 mount.
Hi I've just subscribed to your channel, i find your content very enlightening. I'm a new bee 🐝 in B4 lense world, would you recommend reliable HD B4 lense retailers or suppliers.
Hi and thanks for the sub 😊🤙 I don't have much experience in buying equipment brand new to be honest. All the equipment I use is 2nd hand and quite old. Brand new B4 lenses typically cost $5k-$40k (and even higher), which is out of my budget for my personally owned professional kit. There are not really any well known retailers for B4 lenses in Australia 🌏🦘 (where I live) either. So most of my 2nd hand lenses are from owner operators or are ex-rental house lenses from FB market place or eBay. If you need brand new lenses B&H has all the current generation models of B4 lenses from Canon and Fujinon. Hope that helps 😊✌️
Que modelo de cámara utilizaste para el video?
I used a Sony FS7 mk1, with an optical correcting B4 to E mount adapter 😊🤙
