A wonderful video, I've been gripped watching Zippy's story unfold. She made so much progress in the short time she was with you, thanks to your calm, loving energy, and the wisdom and respect you showed around her. Your gorgeous, much loved dogs also gave her invaluable support, it was plain to see how she enjoyed being part of 'the pack' from her tail wagging, prancing and zoomies, God love her! Seems you were sweet Zippy's lucky charm, because her perfect forever family soon showed up to start the rest of her life! What a wonderful 'happy ever after', for that precious little girl. Bravo on a job beautifully done! This video shows very clearly how important good foster families like yours are, for rescue animals like Zippy. Your willingness to help an animal in need for the short term, build their confidence, and be prepared to say goodbye when the right owner comes along, is heroic. As hard as it must be to lose them after investing so much time and emotion in their well being, you have the satisfaction of knowing that your hard work and dedication played a crucial role in delivering their happy future as a cherished pet in a loving home. I hope many people see your wonderful videos, learn from them (you are both such naturals with animals, and instinctively knew just how to put Zippy at ease), and are inspired to become the great foster parents to vulnerable animals that you are. Respect to you both, and much love to you and your fur-family! XXX ❤🐾😻😻🐾❤
Being tall, I've always found the best way to deal with a scared little dog is to just lie down. They love to do all their sniffing and it works almost instantly to relax them.
@@thegoldenkobefamily - Glad to hear that. One more thing, and this is just a suggestion out of thin air and have no idea if it would work, but maybe you could try putting them into a baby stroller for their first times on 'walks', still on lead obviously. They could observe everything including your other dogs. Like I say, this advice could be completely wrong. 😃
@@kelperdude It's a great idea, some nervous dogs like mine, love being in a stroller. She had an old back injury too so couldn't walk far, but she loved coming on walks, sniffing the air and seeing other dogs from the safety of her stroller. They are great for elderly and disabled dogs too, so they don't miss out on walks.
The reason it calms your dogs down is because in their minds, you’re demonstrating submission. And that makes them think “okay you’re not trying to be mean, I see now” and that is the best thing to open up a dog to you.
I'm 6'4" and a broad build. This has always been one of my tactics too, cuz I always heard being lower to the ground/not towering over a dog helps them be more comfortable. Seems to help!
Thank goodness lovely people like them are willing to be fosters, even though it means saying goodbye to gorgeous animals you have inevitably grown fond of. This lovely couple were so good with Zippy, their gentle energy really brought her out of her shell. And they were the perfect package with their two loving dogs - I think it was great added emotional support for her to be part of a 'pack', and enjoy the friendship of their two lovely dogs. Huge respect to them and all who are noble enough to be short-term foster parents to dogs and cats. We rescued a purebred Border Collie who was completely feral....never been in a house, never really touched by humans but kept in 8 x 10 cage in the middle of a field for breeding only. He stayed out in our yard for three days before he would even come in the house....and then he didn't know what stairs were. He was 2 yrs old at the time. Our Golden Retriever, Tonka, took this wild dog under his wing and with 2 days of coming into the house, he was house trained. He glommed onto Tonka and never left his side. He was so smart he just learned to do EVERYTHING that Tonka did. Our beautiful old boy Tonka lived to be 22 years old and passed away 2 yrs ago. Lucan (the border collie) was never the same after that. He mourned Tonka terribly and passed away six months later at the age of 11. I truly believe it was from a broken heart.
Yes, animals can die of a broken heart! This was a bittersweet story to read and I cried a little. Thank you for sharing this story and for being a wonderful family to Lucan! 🥰
What an amazing story. Thank you for sharing. Tonka sounds like he was a very special dog. And 22 years old! Wow! Lucan's life, while shorter, was certainly made even more complete because of Tonka, but also because you rescued him despite the extra challenges you knew you'd face with him. The world needs more people like you. Thank you.
Just found your channel. I’m a 40 year old man, shedding several happy tears this evening. I prefer dogs to people, and what you’re doing for these innocent little souls is heartwarming. Keep up the good work guys.
fostering has to be so hard, having to say goodbye so many times. but i am glad you guys have the ability to do it so the dogs get a wonderful chance at life.
Had 6 foster dogs over the years. Seeing this video reminds me how wonderful it is when the dog opens up and finally finds the right people. Letting them go is hard.
Fostering is hard, but also joyful. It must be bitter sweet for the dogs too... but, it saves lives, and helps dogs adjust to living in a home. Experience of a home and a more confident dog means they're more likely to be adopted. Sad, but true. Without fostering, many dogs wouldn't be rescued from animal shelters, from a life of danger/torture/suffering on the streets, and/or from kill shelters. Many dogs wouldn't find their forever happy ever after homes without a foster home. I've fosterer twice. The first time, I helped a dog come out of his shell and I found him a fabulous new home... but it broke my heart. The 2nd time, I became a failed foster, and she's my girl forever now 🥰
Bawling. Kobe and Moki gave Zippy a safe place to dog, and I'm glad that she was adopted by a family experienced with fearful dogs. She's gonna be fine. Thanks for saving Zippy and for giving Kobe and Moki the opportunity to love her.
Imagine to be so scared to be happy!!! This little dog deserves all the love they are receiving now! Thank you for taking them in and giving them a chance! ❤❤❤
There's a lot of people like Zippy I imagine. I've known some people who are, as you put it, "scared to be happy." I wish all those people find the courage to be happy, as Zippy has.
I think the two bigger dogs understand the smaller dog is traumatized and need time to adjust. They also understand their owners are trying to help this scared dog so both them showed patience and didn't get to close to Zippy. Zippy now fully knows she's with good ppl and feeling love for the first time 😇
I also had a dog like Zippy, but after gentle touch understanding and building trust and fast forward 1 year, he got his Therapy dog and PTSD dog. He was amazing ! I just retired from rescue, after 42 years, and it makes my heart smile to see younger people, like you, carrying on. Bless you both and God bless Zippy and her new family
So glad to see that Zippy found such a wonderful family to adopt her. She is very smart and will be an amazing companion for them. Thank you for the work you are doing. My Dad once told me that if we made it to heaven purely on or merits, that our dogs would make it before we would. I couldn't agree more.
I was in the Ukraine for a couple of weeks in 2010/2011. SO many stray dogs, it’s was so flipping sad! Saying that, they didn’t look emaciated like I have seen in some strays in South Africa so that was good. I imagine the war has changed all of that though. I still think of the poor animals there and in Palestine. The trauma must be unbelievable. People don’t think about the animals much in war time so it’s so great you adopted her! They finally had given the green light to rescue the dogs in Chernobyl! People evacuated were FORCED to leave all pets behind, so most were left to fend for themselves and obviously get so sick. But a couple of years ago they had confirmed that the radiation was in the fur (obviously ancestors of the pets) and could be washed off and they would be safe to live in society again finally! Was such a happy story until the war started. So much heartbreak in the Ukraine. We went to the memorials of the last nightmare these people had to endure, even the young people were so emotional about it. As they say, young men who have never met kill one another for the vengeance of old men who have never fought.
I'm so happy for Zippy! She's such a sweet girl and deserves a great family. Our current is a rescue. We've had him 17 months now and he is almost 8. He came from a hoarder situation with 19 dogs in a home. He was scared and timid, like Zippy, when I brought him home. He has turned in to a very trusting, loyal, and lovable boy.
I was worried that little Zippy wasn’t ready, but again the right people came along at the right time. Those shots of her out walking with her new family are extremely reassuring. Can’t wait to see who you save next.🐾🇦🇺❤️🌟

This is both hard and enlightening to watch. I got a rescue Border Collie. She and her brother had not been socialized to people. We bonded immediately. She wasn't housebroken so the first night in my house with my carpets was a mess. Border Collies are very smart. She figured it out the next day. I've had her now for five yeras. She has improved quite a bit around people. Once she knows them it is not a problem. I always ask people to let her approach them. She is a very beautiful dog so people assume whe will be friendly, but she is not. After all of this time, we probably will make more progress, I don't judge her. I am not disappointed. She is who she is. She is without a doubt the smartest dog I've ever had. She loves her cat brothers. I could not ask for more. May Zippy find her people. There was a book written quite a while ago by the Monks of New Skete. They raise German Shepherds and believed in the theory that dogs, who mature faster than ourselves, go through various periods of being emotionally impressed. Zippy was at that critical time when she was abandoned. It is really hard to get that kind of conditioning out of a dog. The helicopter tail is saying she wants to be happy but her actions illustrate something else. Oh how I detest the cruelty people do to animals! I'm also a big believer in dog probiotics. It can settle a stomach very quickly.
My rescue border collie lab German Shephard..bella... was similar..she was friendly to certain people only ..she was the love of my life and passed away at home in 2013..I still miss her..
As someone who has fostered so many pups, I get what you are feeling. My foster pups are such good dogs that now have loving families that care deeply about them.
Just discovered you today, and have had a bit of a binge watch of your videos. You are both so calm and patient I can see you coax the character out of each rescue dog. Combined with your furry co workers you have an excellent team! Keep up the great work! ❤
Awe...it's these kind of fosterdogs that warm my heart...I've had a number of antisocial fosterdogs...helping them gain their trust and learn to love their world is so rewarding... Pls consider fostering a dog. .
You and your wife are dog whisperers being able to read the movements of a puppy in great need of a loving home. I love the way you can read the new parents to know if and only if they are deserving of such a lovely furbaby. It warms my heart how wonderful you two are. Angels sent from Heaven.
Oh this reminds me so much of my Josie she came to me through a charity in Cyprus who found her in a sorry state and nursed her back from near death, Josie then stayed with a lovely foster family. She has been with me for nearly two years, but it took a while to earn trust, be comfortable out and about, let people touch her, learn to use stairs etc. it could break your heart, but the happiness she displays everyday makes everything worthwhile, we also have the tippy taps before food… please keep doing what you are doing, people who foster are the best humans!

Laws regarding animal mistreatment need to be made far more severe than currently are everywhere.
My rescue border collie lab German Shephard..bella... was similar..she was friendly to certain people only ..she was the love of my life and passed away at home in 2013..I still miss her..
This had me in tears by the end. What you guys are doing for these dogs is so special. Thank you 💜
As someone who has fostered so many pups, I get what you are feeling. My foster pups are such good dogs that now have loving families that care deeply about them.
Thank You for Helping Zippy 🥰 Good Luck In Your Forever Home Zippy
Now THAT is a happy pupper.
To watch an injured soul begin to regrow is wonderful....you also grow because you helped it happen. Heartfelt thanks from a cynical old codger
Great story. May God bless both of you for your love of His creation.
The dog whisperers🐕🦺 Lovely story about the rescue pup Zippy.
Thank you 🙏 for all the great work that you do ❣️
Thank you for being so kind.
I would have had to keep her if I were you. Zippy is an angel, a gentle soul that simply needed love and trust.. ❤
Pls consider fostering a dog.
.
Zippy looks very much like the dog I had as a child. So nice, brings back memories.

Bless you guys for being so kind and loving to foster Zippy ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful and Precious ❤️ Xx
You and your wife are dog whisperers being able to read the movements of a puppy in great need of a loving home. I love the way you can read the new parents to know if and only if they are deserving of such a lovely furbaby. It warms my heart how wonderful you two are. Angels sent from Heaven.
Well done you two (4) .. much love 💕
Zippy is the perfect name for her. So cute and lovable.
Great job you two are amazing for doing this
Always great to see a scared dog ,get some new family and be happy. 👏👏👏👏
Amazing job in such a short amount of time! Thank you for helping Zippy find her furever home!❤🤩😍🥰😍🤩🐕
Dang. This made me cry! We definitely need more Zippy updates!
What utterly beautiful human beings you are 🥰 ❤
God bless good hearted people like you both
zippy is so adorable
she is!
@@thegoldenkobefamily i remember having a dog called charlie just like zippy, he was 2 years old and a mix between a chihuahua and german Shepard he acted the same as zippy when we first got him and we thought we would have him forever but we had to give him away he was going to go to my friends aunt but some other people decided he was better for them instead and my friends aunt agreed since she wanted a smaller dog even though he was small enough his fur looked the same as zippy’s just shepard coloured zippy reminded me of him and it makes me so happy :D
I always hate but understand when they go to yet another home I wanted Zippy to stay there. Bless you for helping rescues.
you 4 are top notch!
Poor little soul. What on earth made her so scared. I dread to think. So glad she found loving people to guide her to recovery.
Thank you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You guys are so nice ❤! Thank you!
Aww. I’m so happy for Zippy and her new family.
I’m so glad she found her forever home who understands her and will love her!❤
What a sweet, lovely thing to see! Zippy has found that love exists! The white tip on her little tail is such a happy flag!
How beautiful, what a beautiful family,God bless you❤
We have had our nervous rescue for 3 years and zippy reminds me of him in so many ways. The ones who pay you less attention and are extremely shy often make the most loyal, loving and appreciative doggos. 🐶 ❤ so glad zippy went to a patient and loving home ❤
God bless Zippy and her family. And to all those people who hurt her, You will be paid.
Good job, as always! Fare well in forever home, Zippy!
I am officially in love with Zippy!
As well as you guys, Kobe & Moki.
Never stop ❤
WOW WHAT A GOOD LOVING COUPLE, ZIPPY BEAUTIFUL NOW SO VERY HAPPY LOVED IN FOR EVER HAPPY HOME. SUCH KINDNESS.🙏🐕❤️❤️☘️
Loved the little jealous growls of the others. They knew she was settling in and a rival for affections
Its wonderful to see there are such great, patient, caring people in the world looking after such a lovely puppy.. thank you sooooooooo much for doing everything right. Wish there where more people like you, god bless you all.
Zippy was finally starting to feel safe in your home, when you took her outside she she was terrified she would never go back. That was my read, at least 😊
Y'all are wonderful, thanks for helping these great dogs out.
I'm sorry that you can't rescued all puppies. You are angels. Greetings from Germany.
I am not crying, i am happy. tears of joy at the end
Aww zippy is so precious ❤️💕. Look at her playing and having a wonderful time! Ty!
