Crazy it feels like just a couple years ago that this car came out! How is this car almost 30 years old? That explains why I hardly see em around any more
Seeing it that new is awesome. Aahhhhh the good ole days when you could get a basic new fun car for a reasonable price without all the dealer markups and constant reminders of how terrible the world is. I wish I could go back.
I drove a 1995 Integra LS for a few years, then tossed a JDM H23A-vtec engine in it. 1/4 mile with no weight or perf mods for the 2.3L was 14.0 in the 1/4. That car was FUN! One funny bit is a pristine example will go for it's original dealer price now. Not many compact cars can say that.
What I remember about this car (and the Civic) was the visibility. It was like sitting in a go-cart. Modern sports cars (except the 911), you have hood bulges and blind spots all around. This thing, you could put the front tire on the apex every time.
I don’t think the were tho. It’s just that there was no American performance at this point. Precovid pricing insanity you could get into a mustang gt (2020) for this amount inflation adjusted
You can still find them today for $1,800-$4,500 online. I just bought my 95 GSR back today. I paid $500 for it with a blown head gasket in 2019. $100 for OEM Honda part. If your handy with a wrench you can get more power. I also had a 2001 GSR turbo 10sec car. I also have a 96 LS does 40mph in 1st, 70 in 2nd gear. Has full 2.5" exhaust and cold air intake. Im putting a VTEC head and turbo with GSR trans in it 5-600hp is easily achievable for a few thousand bucks, research and the desire. Like the type R commercial "its in your blood"
the GSR was about 250 lbs heavier, not to mention driver/environmental factors. I've seen Motor Trend test the exact same car on separate reviews and get a full second difference in 0-60.
Totally agree, but the first two years of this Integra had the bugeye headlights in Japan as well. The updated front end appeared at the same time as the Type R in 1995. Also in Japan you could still get a carbureted D-series engine on the Integra until early 1995. Can’t imagine how slow that was.
@@itsabigchungus watch the video. The front rubber part of the bumper fits in a very 1990s fashion where it meets the metal hood and fenders. Fit and finish and materials are very different now..that’s all.
Such a great looking car, especially in red. As a Gen X in his mid-50's, can't believe this is 28 years ago!
Crazy it feels like just a couple years ago that this car came out! How is this car almost 30 years old? That explains why I hardly see em around any more
Just bought a 2006 FG2 Civic Si Coupe with low miles for the year, and fully stock, no rust.
Last of the true VTEC motor.
I'm 54 🎉😂
Despite more than two decades ago, this integra still look way way interesting, sporty and sleek than the latest 2022 integra.
Had a white ‘94 4 door GS-R. What a car. Motor screamed, gearbox was butter, handled, fantastic. Still miss it.

I used to have a green 4 door Integra GS-R. I missed it.
Now this is an Integra!!!
I test drove one of these in 1994 and ended up buying a 94 Mustang GT instead. I would’ve bought the Integra GSR if I could make the decision again.
THE MUSTANG WITH THE V8 IS THE CLEAR WINNER HANDS DOWN...
@@RetroCarReviews Great car this Acura Integra
I was pleased just to hear that VTAC ripping down the track 🥲
LS and GS models had the B18B1 engine... still the DOHC layout... just non-VTEC and lower compression...
Much nicer than Acura's latest hot mess.

I had a SuperSonic Blue '98 GSR....have had many other cars since then, but would still love to have that one back.
My first car was an 89 Integra LS, light metallic blue. I love tegs.
I love this car, Acura is greats cars
29 avg. mpg for that age is mind blowing. I miss my LS 4-door.
I miss my 2000 GsR I was able to squeeze a 15.2 😅1/4 in stock trim.
I had a 1990 Integra blue metallic 5-speed and my wife had a 1998 silver 5-speed with a sunroof. We were a two Integra family.
the best body integra! i love the wheels as well. they go so well together
Such a classic, so fun to drive these great cars.
Still got mine ❤️ db8 gsr here
I also have a white 1998 DB8 GSR 👍
All the trim levels had twin cam engines... need to go back and edit the dialog on the tape :D
Great but they got the ls and gs engine wrong! It was not a single over head cam. But a great car all around.
Correct. They were also DOHC motors but no VTEC.
Look at that, when Acura knew what a sporty affordable car was supposed to look like.

I remember doing a 140 miles an hour with 5 people in the car and one of these
Considering 5 people is roughly 800lbs of extra weight (minimum) that must have taken forever to achieve
That’s almost impossible. Was is downhill?
@@ryanb8736 yes It's called twilight curves in Portland Oregon.
@@jameswillard1 We were teenagers we were really skinny.
Those speedos like many of that time read much higher the faster you're going...might have gone 120ish, maybe
My first Car! Miss this baby.
Give me one of those over that new 4 door integra thing
If you give me the new one
1.8 single over head cam?
Weird seeing such a mistake by MW.
I used to have this exact same car but with black leather 2 door stick. I wrapped it around a tree going 100 mph 😢. I was 16 in high school
remanufacture one of these and i'll buy it over the new ones
I miss simple, happy revving cars.
I went to a wealthy hs circa 1998 and only really rich kids had these. These seem like dream cars today but would you pay 35-40k for one?
stil yet to own b18 magic!
6:31
The biggest understatement hah!
Damnit why did Honda have to kill off the Civic coupé?!
My first car but my was black, god i really enjoyed that car
VTEC! Oh shit that's fast.
The base model has a dohc engine as well lol..😅
That was a wicked car.
if Acura brought this car back and sold it new again today I bet it would out sell any of the newer integra models of today.
miss mine a 94
The Del Sol VTEC ran to 60 in 6.5 secs. Why is the GSR so much slower with having more power?
the GSR was about 250 lbs heavier, not to mention driver/environmental factors. I've seen Motor Trend test the exact same car on separate reviews and get a full second difference in 0-60.
Because the Del Sol was the size of a Miata (if not smaller).
Cos you are totaly wrong
Its over 7 seconds 0-62mph
I ran my Integra 4 door GS-R to faster numbers than quoted here. 15.2 in the quarter bone stock.
@@crodrc51able but what was the 0 to 60?
Fast and attractive car.
Cool
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Generation X🤭
Acid washed jeans came standard
So much better than the plastic garbage Acura is selling today
The 2023 still does 7.8 seconds to 60. Sad no improvement.
Way better than that new garbage they put out
Cause this was a real Integra. The new one is only Integra by name ILX by heart
IMO, the JDM model looked better. Those had better looking headlights.

The grass is always greener.
In Japan they want and like the bug eyes 😂. JDM models changed because they said they were too aggressive.
RS and LS came Dual overhead not single cam. Get your facts straight. Smh..
Bumper fits so poorly. 😂
What are you talking about?
