Vietnam is in my opinion the ultimate destination for all travelers. Its variety of landscapes from the spectacular limestone karst scenery of the north to beautiful tropical white sand beaches of the south, says it all. Also, Vietnam has a history that is distinctively rich and evocative. The New York Times said, "Vietnam has a history of resisting the world’s great powers. It threw out the French after almost a century of colonization and then handed the United States a humiliating defeat," not to mention the fact that the Vietnamese crushed the mighty Mongol army not once but 3 times in 13th century and drove all the Chinese invaders back to their mainland China after 1,000-year occupation in the 1st century. Such an intriguing history!
