B. die Chance, das Pedal isoliert mitzuverfolgen, was viel Freude macht. - Was vielleicht als Ergänzung wünschenswert ist: welche Orgel wird gespielt? Hier ist es eine Frobenius-Orgel in der Canongate-Kirche in Edinbourough.
Can someone explain the "floating" key signatures at the start and why it would appear a scale degree has been flattened at different octaves in both staves?
In the past there was no standard way of writing key signatures, the "floating" keys at the beggining are just there to show you how the composer wrote them in the original manuscript. It's just a personal preference it doesn't affect the music or the way you play it in anyway.
@@carlosmendez6729 I see. Does that mean all the D♭s in the manuscript were individually altered, seeing that they are absent in the "floating" key signatures, or was this implied by virtue of the piece being in F minor?
@@BsktImp It probably was written in f dorian (omittiing the db in the beginning) - if I'm not mistaken, J.S. Bach wrote his famous "Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ"/BWV 639, also in f dorian (even though it's "real" minor) - and so the missing flats had to be written individually, just the way you wrote; publishers like Peters later added the "full" key signatures.
